Sehwag selection
by Phakir Chand on Jun 10, 2009 05:38 AM  | Hide replies

I think the relevant question is lost in this melee. Why was Sehwag selected if he was injured and doubtful? He goes to UK, plays no games and just practices for an hour or two over a few days and then returns home? And we are saying that this must not be questioned by the media - D-UH??

Sirf saamne baith kar photo khichane ke liye bheja tha kya BCCI ne? Absolutely, someone must question and make a ruckus about it so that such waste of money/resources are not repeated.

I am very much agree with u. something is nasty had hppned between Sewag & Dhoni, and dhoni doesn't any senior players to be in the team.just imagine how he can not update about Sewag's injury ? we are not dum, and he is a captain and he should know about his fitness, infact why he's ruled out because he was not in form in IPL so Dhoni wanted him to rest out thats all ...and mendia is doing thier right job,why people r blaming media etc...one should learn media only is the main source to make you famous, without media.......just imagine.

What 'they' report is that Sehwag tried to hide the fact about his shoulder injury and only later revealed it and that's what made this 'so natural' act a big fuss.

BCCI is not a govenrment organization. Remember, Shewag represent "Team BCCI" not team India according to BCCI lawyers argument in Supreme Court of India.

And you never know if it was BCCI sponsered visit for his Wift and kid or from his own pocket.

Cricket will talk
by Shiben Naik on Jun 10, 2009 05:11 AM

I think all of us are talking too much abt the issue. Let cricket do the talking on the field rather than off it.

On other note, Indian media should be more responsible while reporting news and should confirm it before publishing. And this holds true not just for Cricket.

It should read 'Indian public versus Indian media'
by Grover Omprakash on Jun 10, 2009 04:45 AM  | Hide replies

It's a pity, while India is blessed with players like Dhoni and Sehwag the ultimate curse is turning out to be our very own media people. Who needs opposition when we have such shameless, gutless, unethical and irresponsible media to battle out? Who is going to talk about our forthcoming matches? Praise the foreign media for not making a joke out of all this mess. Why targeting a single individual when it's a whole team of 11 warriors? Why at this time idiots?

Great Point.. read this news, discuss 100's of pages saying how wrong is media, send 100's of emails pointing this news article again saying how irresponsible media is...watch this on TV and tell everyone around that media is irresponsible, create a huge publicity for this news item and finally Blame how unethical and irresponsible the media is...

So do you think the media owes an apology to the Indian team, Indian cricket fans or on the whole - Indian public? Guess that would hit the ego of a lot of scoundrels though.

That time will come,

when more people realise that they are manipulated by these media since so many years and they become a part of it , directly or in directly and help them to run their own propaganda.

I believe tht still Indian electronic media, by at large successful by hammering their thoughts on Indian people and forced them to think the way they want...

Be careful about professing partial journalism guys. If you agree that partial journalism is justified for cricket, then you must agree with those who try to create partial political journalism. Its a slippery slope with no middle ground - either the media is impartial or it is not.

I, for one, would want impartiality at ALL costs in journalistic reporting.

Indian Electronic Media is God of India.

They can do whatever they like to do as No Indian Government have guts to stop their unethical activities.

If I not forget noboday dares in recent past the way Dhoni handled the Indian Electonic Media. kudos

They run their own propaganda and hammering innocent Indian people still no body bothers as Indian Government not have guts to do any thing against them as they know for them its just question of a moment to bring down from hero to zero.

Indian media can project Mayawati and Prakash Karat as a next PM of India in last election and nobody gets more the 25 seats out of 543 seats and still people digest their manipulation during pre-poll telecast.

Unnnikrishnana from Indian Army and few Mumbai Police Officers still alive after Mumbai Terror Attack if Indian Media applied self-discipline them selves and stop live coverage and still Indian people see those news channels

Indian Electronic media started their 24 hrs news channels and thus they have to fill Air-Space and that is why they are manipulating and out of proportion to get more TRP against their competitors.

They are running their own hidden propaganda and humiliate major community now and there with out missing the chance and also become a part of anti Indian elements and still Innocent Indian People see the same news channels.

Please dont allow media people to hijack your thought process of your mind and dont think the way they wanted to think you.

Why the rift ??
by Srinivas G on Jun 10, 2009 02:45 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni should be thankful to the media, well its the media that made this ordinary stupid super star which he doesnt deserve on any scale, there are 100's of cricketers like him given a chance who can bat at no 5 and make about 20-30 runs in 20-30 balls, we the fans and the media hyped him up for the sake of 2 or 3 good innings, where as players like Viru and Yuvi are really special and gifted and are rare finds, so just igonre the news about this stupid.

Well it's really sad to know how people with very little knowledge about things start speaking as if they know every thing. Mr Srinivas G.....please update ur cricket knowledge my friend before speaking about some one who has actually brought changes in indian team and because of which we see this united team performing well. Media needs to play a more responsible role by not getting in to unnecessary things and disturbing indian cricket teams unity and winning attitude...It's the team attitude that really matters in a team , and not one Yuvi or sehwag or dhoni or tendulkar. It's a team work and YES "Dhoni" is doing his best to coordinate this young team well.....so support indian team yaar.

Hi Srinivas,

This guy is like Indian Electronic media person, who doesn't no any thing abt the subject and try to push their own talk with out any base and reality and try to prove them selves as they are right.

When Dhoni asked that MEDIA PERSON, Who said tht there is rift between Dhoni and Sehwag , he replied somebody. Dhoni asked him.. who? you need to name that ... you cant ask on the behalf another's name and in reality its his baby and asking on somebody else name... everybody knows now ... how Indian electronic media people are arrogant.

This guy is from the same block.. doesn't no abt Cricket and writing something which he doesn't any thing abt it. and still feel he knows every thing and forced other people to believe what he says...

We will miss Sehwag
by jamescunnin on Jun 10, 2009 02:09 AM  | Hide replies

We the Indian fans and the India cricket will miss Sehwag's presence and ability to turn a game on its head. He is a true impact player and is shear amazement when he is in his ZONE.

But what I do not get is WHY? DINESH KARTHIK??? I mean this was the same guy who on countless many a time to represent India turned a FLOP with the gloves and racked up insufficient runs!!
I mean we hear needed a back up glove man to Dhoni .... and no one thought it before when the 15 was named ?? We hear he did well in the IPL !! Right!!

Well why not a young gun ... a Manish Pandey or if you want a glove man a Gohsami ... bought youngsters have brilliant potential and most likely who ever sellected would sit on the bench.

If that not why not another seamer of note to bloaster the lot that is there .... some one who would sort out the death bowling issues!!??

And DHONI CONGRATES ON BEING NOBODIES PUSH ARROUND!! Media have lot all morals to make a quick buck now days!! It is PATHETIC!!!

I think you're right - Manish Pandey is in a good nick and could have been given a chance. The only thing which we overlook many a times is the playing conditions in England where the ball swings a lot and that perhaps might be the reason behind Karthik's selection. I hope Dhoni's going to win this WC for us and if he does then that would be a tight slap on these media people's face and on those who might by paying cash from behind the scenes to create, promote and spread these types of rumors for their own selfish purposes. Go Dhoni Go! Team India prove yourself !

Media just want spicy news for their business, who cares for the matches, matches are played everyday. Rifts are rare, Dhoni fell for the media's hype over the issue. Where is the media manager for the BCCI, players should stick to playing where concentration is very imp. the manager should address this stupid issues which are more imp. for the media.
