Best luck, Anil bhai. U can easily play for another couple of years. Your performance at IPL-2 final actually represents your whole life as a cricketer- a valient fighter who always at the losing end but remains respected even by his worst enemy.

well, i hate to be a spoiler, but gavaskar was one of the only chaps who stood upto aggressive stances by western commentrators promoting thier own lot.
I think among the Indian commentators, Manjrekar is the best. His vocabulary is immense and thinking also is clear. Gavaskar is ok so far as boldness is concerned. He is hard hitting and to the point with his comments. Raaavi is the cheapest of them all. He vocabulary is limited. He has always the same few lines in commentary lingo. He often is found overdoing. His make up is worse. Looks like a well polished black color "naughtyboy shoe" that has lost its polish while playing in the school playground.

But as a batsman Manjarekar was a pain to watch. And so was Arun Lal (he was always left worrying about his place in the team for the next match. poor guy). And how can anyone forget Gavaskar's 30 not out against East Africa in the 1975 world cup when he played out the entire 60 overs simply in order to snatch the captaincy from S. Venkataraghavan. It is very interesting to hear Gavaskar talking about sportsmanship etc. these days. If only man had the ability to walk back in time and erase his past "records" so that someone like me doesn't recall it later!!!
Anil Kumble with his baritone voice will do a splendid job on the mike. I wish him all the very best. I am sure he would make a tremendous pair with Saurav Ganguly with his charming eyes and innocent smile. Good luck guys.
