This is not ODI cricket.....this is test cricket where you need a guy with sound technique and full range of strokes to bat at 3..........

Now Ponting is at receiving end....
by Preet on Jul 13, 2009 12:38 PM  | Hide replies

Its Great to see comments of Ponting saying we were playing with spirit of the game, i'm not sure about England. He gave this statement coz in overs 102 and 103 England sent 12th man and physio on ground.

Mr Ponting What did you do to win game against India in captainship of Kumble. You claimed dropped catches and won and still you said we were playing with spirit of the game. While Now England is not playing with spirit.

So today Mr Ponting is at receiving end. You only have taught this to Cricketing World Mr Ponting.....

Aussies have the worst record whenever we consider the spirit of the game. In Sydney test 8 decisions were given in favor of Aussies & that won the test fr them. At that time Ponting was like its part n pacel of game & nw not in the spirit of the game. Ponting shd b kicked hard on back fr his comments.

Mr. Preet, you are wrong. Mr. Against Pseudos (as always) got it right. Where did he comment on umpiring? He just argued with umpires on the field (as he always does) for the reason that 12th and physiotherapist came into the field in successive overs and commented on things off field which umpires should normally look after.

ENGLAND need to change the way they bat, play attacking/ be aggrasive rather than defend all the time esp top 5 batsman.
Its was great to watch the last pair battle out in the middle. who says Test cricket is boring
To win Test matches you need to score faster 3.5 rpo

Test cricket at its best....
by SR Hari on Jul 13, 2009 12:33 PM

While it was horrible to watch from the dressing room for Strauss, it was the same for thousands in the stands and millions in front of the TV. Who would have thought a test match would go to the wire (read the 90 overs) and then the clock comes into play? Great game and hats off to Collingwood, Anderson and Monty for holding on for a draw... Hard luck aussies....

Best Test Match to Watch
by Narasimha on Jul 13, 2009 12:30 PM  | Hide replies

Andrew Straus rightly said that it is really horrible to watch the match Aus. dominated the game for nearly 4 days but after Tea on 5th day England resoundingly came back and way in which the Paul Collingwood played it is really amazing and at the end it is tailenders who dominated and defy the win for Australia. this is the one of the best test match I have watched.

Similar to the way Australia saved a test match at Manchester old Trafford 4 years back, when McGrath and Lee held on to save it for Australia.....otherwise, England would have won that series 3-1......

We choked and lost 3 wickets in one over.....Bad umpiring by Benson and diabolical malicious umpiring by Bucknor deprived us of a win in Sydney but we could have held on for a draw......we lost cos of our nerves!! Though if Drsvid had not got that bad decision, we could have still saved it...
