Please do not get religion into everything. there is a bias in some of the people's comments but that bias could easily be north-south, flamboyant-dull. Religion need not necessarily be the reason. Just look at others comments. Most of them are supportive of him than otherwise.
We already have enough of religion otherwise to bring that in sports also.

Well said!

It's amazing this hypocrisy regarding Jadeja and Prabhakar in the public consciousness. No wonder people accept corrupt politicians like Mayawati and Laoo yadav and demagogues like Gujarat CM Modi and Hyd Old City MP Asaduddin Owaisi.

IT WAS CONSPIRACY... BETTER 2 FORGET THAT...
by Dr Love on Jan 05, 2009 10:25 AM  | Hide replies

Azhar was not the only one who have had charges of Match-fixing... Kapil, Prabhakar, Jaedja and Mongia were also involved... but he is dumped because there are so many people like to see Azhar in trouble since the time he debuts... and moreover lead the Team India for a decade...So, Mr. Kapil got scott-free after weeping on national TV as he was bigger Icon and got the symathy of our country men. Well.. its better if we forget those stories of past and looking to the future and wish new cricketers of India just the BEST OF LUCK..

Get your facts right Dr. Love. Jadeja and Mongia sufferred as much as Azhar did. So did Prabhakar.

If you doubt Kapil's integrity, then I pity your judgement.

And by the way, Azhar did everything he could to redeem his image, which incudes playing the minority card. Thankfully good sense dawned upon him sooner than expected and he withdrew the card as hastily as he had played.

That he was a great cricketer, is beyond any arguments.

Dr. Love!

Azhar used to spill out money for whatever he liked! Wich is why he came into the scanner.

He bought a watch from a businessman in the VIP Box straight out for 50 Lakh Cash in his Locker! So obviously it would attract attention.

Prabhakar was also thrown out. So dont u thik he was wronged too? Its not only Azhar OK...even Jadeja was thrown out. Now Dinesh Mongia is thrown.

So dont be a ratonal fool.

And dont talk bad about Kapil Dev who has been the most honest player ever in Indian Cricket.

you mean Nayan Mongia?

I won't be gullible enough to give a clean chit to Kapil Dev though.

Who imagined Hansie Cronje, the proud South African, was involved until the tapes came in?

I have my reservations about Kapil, considering everything.

Kapil Dev was a great player, best allrounder for India, and led India to their first and only World Cup win . Don't you dare associate him with match-fixing.It was the fixer Manoj Prabhakar who tried to frame him and spoil his name

"Don't you dare associate him with match-fixing."

That's what I am talking about.

What was India's win percentage under Kapil? I don't think it was 90%. Cronje was one of the most successful captain ever, and one of the best batsman under pressure and crisis situations. But he was still guilty. Kapil?...be open minded.

Winning percent being less doesn't mean fixing India's winning percent itself is not great as they are an inconsistent team.

"Winning percent being less doesn't mean fixing India's winning percent itself is not great as they are an inconsistent team."

Exactly. Just becuase Kapil won a world cup and was a good batsman, and taht you hold him in high esteem for his patriotism, doesn't mean that he not a match fixer or had shady dealings.
