Is it just coincidence that you missed the part that Aunshuman Gaekwad's son was also called by SRK?
welcome to azhar's son to first class cricket. as far as azhar is concern he was the only person punished , lot of players involved in match fixing like gibbs ,boucher, boje did not get punishment, even some indians got escape in it. Lots of bookies atteneded the marriage of the player, who delibratly throws away his wicket in the finals never get punishment,

Thanks Vennila at least you are the one who has hit the bulls eye. Well done. I agree with you. We all know the truth but are helpless.

Cricketers from the south don't have a national appeal in commercial promotions & they are welcome at national teams only as long as they can score (take) tons of runs & wickets and mask the weak players who are other-wise good at selling products. This has been the fate of Viswanaths, Srikanths, Azhars & Kumbles and definitely the fate of Dravids & Laxmans. The rest are just suitable justifications for their way out

He was a great fielder a good batsman but not so good in other things like captaincy.

He was a great player. Fantastic fielder. The only person who fielded like that in those era. Very good reliable batsman too.
But whoever it is, if they do match fixing especially when they play for the country, when millions are counting on them, it surely requires punishment. I think he got what he deserved. We don't have to care about others who were not punished. Fooling millions of people, and cheating a nation is a similar crime to Spying.

Hi Sanjay, its just for my knowledge, because he is my favourite player. I don't like or dislike a person for his personal life. I like them for skills and he was a skilled player.

Mohammad Azharuddin was a very talented player, a stylish batsman and a great fielder. He started his career in a glorious manner;scoring centuries against England but ended it in ignominy; at the heart of the match-fixing scandal that rocked cricket. He was an unimaginative captain and was generally aloof with the rest of the team.
That fixer has played with the proud of the country. Rediff should not give his news. I am not against his son. I wish all the best to him. But he should be treated as a common player.
Indian cricket is doing good. It's performing like a cohesive unit. For God's sake we don't want any more media promoted player who could be following his father's footstep. As someone in this forum said,"May be another match fixer in the making".
Howsoever good or bad he is my principle would be to 'keep him out' and let's not destroy a great unit. I say this for future, becasue if he scores even a couple of 50s media will make him a future star to don India colours.
Let's take a leaf out of English Football where how so big you may be but nuisance creaters are not tolerated. Paul Gascoigne and Roy Keane comes to my mind immediately.

Is it fair to punish someone for things done by his father? Lets see how good he his, give him a fair opportunity, if he fails to impress do not select him.

I think the name KID suits you. How can you say Azhar's son is a match fixer? Did they prove that Azhar was a match fixer? Tell me, are you as great as your father? Or as good as your brother?

@Ajit - There was scheme by govt of india for black money 2 b officially converted in to white VDIS. Azhar used this scheme. how much money he converted is another question ,but this is very much clear that he has used VDIS.

This "info" you just provided is utter nonsense and you know it too. There is no such data available, not even under RTI. Btw, do you have any clue as to when the last VDIS scheme was run? Please stop spreading misinformation.

VDIS has nothing to do with match fixing. People get money in all different ways for acting in adds and from their different sources of revenue. That does mean that he was involved in match fixing.
He just selected for trials, its long way to to go. Players like Yusuf, Raina, Uttappa, Asondkar,Kaif, Shreedanth & many more they are still struglling for their places So please dont fight with eachother Delhi abhi bahot door hai. Dont compare him with Azaha, he was class cricketer but fame/money made him mad.
Here's one for you; Why has anyone ever asked what they mean when they say Azhar 'fixed' matches? Did India win or lose the matches he fixed? How many matches did he 'fix', and how many of these did we win?

I never believed that he was involved in match fixing issue, its just unfortunate that he is facing all the allegation, which could not be proved.
