Ponting and on-field behaviour control?
by Deepak Ram on Dec 24, 2009 02:06 AM

It has to be a joke! someone who has a past that is more colorful than all of the current cartoons in the australian team is commenting on controlling them. As a captain, i agree it is important to be seen by the media to be doing the right things but if you were to analyse the propensity of the claims, it is like a wolf guarding the chickens. Ponting has to set an example with mature behaviour on field and in recent matches / last indian tour down under, his behaviour to appeal for grounded pouches in the slip for catches, incessant appealing and unsportsman like behaviour on field does not qualify him to open his mouth on this subject. Ponting falls back on his favourite excuse - aussie way of cricket, aggression and mental games but it doesn t take xray vision to see through his poor sportsmanship at times that is the crux of all his problems.
Funny to even think he s gona advice his fellow mates like watson and haddin who have proved that the aussie team is no less than their captain with rowdy behaviour on field. will any1 need to listen to ponting ?answer = no . will they ? maybe for a few games.

the mediA will listen and report is and we will hear it as subjective audience....

it ends right there ....

different stick for Aussie

ladies and gentlemen, I'm afraid that if we are going to allow Australia to play international cricket, we are going to have to make allowances for their'culture'.

Sadly, like Englishmen, I'm all too aware of the heritage that they got it from!!

On:

;-). So you believe in heritage, eh? :)

I am afraid I don't consider us as the slave of the Englishmen anymore, though you are free to consider yourself as one. :)

FYI, India got its independence in Nineteen Hundred and Forty Seven. :)

Chris broads sense of justice
by Varun on Dec 23, 2009 11:45 AM  | Hide replies

Zaheer gets fined for 80% for same offense.

And broads comment was
"Clearly, this sort of behaviour is not acceptable at any level of cricket - it showed a lack of respect for the player who had been dismissed," Broad said.

Now watson does the same and gets 15%. And the comment is

"Shane is a very energetic and enthusiastic bowler but on this occasion he has gone too far by running down the wicket screaming, thereby not showing due respect for the opponent," Broad said. "While handing down the punishment, I took into account that Shane admitted his mistake by pleading guilty."

Zaheer also pleaded guilty to the offense. Now that is one fair judgement. I know aussie fan boys will have an issue with it. But hey they need to grow up.

Why does ICC have such an incapable on the payroll ?.

Comparison is courtesy of Mr Naresha a poster in cricketwithballs blog.

VaRUN:

After Hayden was dismissed by Harbhajan Singh, Khan ran from his fielding position towards the outgoing batsman. He then circled the batsman and shouted at him in an aggressive manner before returning to his team-mates.

If you feel Mr Naresha - "a poster in cricketwithballs blog" is making a fair comparison, you are perfectly entitled to your opinion. :)

But please don't say that "Now Watson does the same and gets 15%".

Watson didn't encircle Gayle and did chest beating after Suleimann Benn had bowled him. :)

ROFLMAO. Aussie fan boy justifying again.

So if a fielder has to run to reach the wicket celebration, since he is fielding in the back, then his crime becomes worse ?. If you watch the video zaheer had to cross hayden and he did it to reach the wicket celebrations and displayed the same actions (chest thumping as you call it) that your fair boy did.

Now even if we accept that zaheer did not have to run around, 5 times more punishment for the running ?. Now pl dont give me another foolish justification for that. Well i wouldn't be surprised if you did.

Broad seems to have your sense of fairness. I mean color related. :>)

Broad's euphemistic comment for the snarling Australian was that "Shane is a very energetic and enthusiastic bowler but on this occasion he has gone too far". But not far enough for a suspension which, seemingly, doesn't apply to Australians.

Other cricketrs from India and other countries are NOT energetic and enthusiastic and they always play to disrupt the game for Mr. Chris Broad.

I really hope BCCI push WCB to raise the issue to ICC. Broad is just like Mike Proctor, who thiks Whites are perfect and do no wrong..

No idea how a biased guy like chris broad qualified as a referee. He gives 2 different rulings for same behaviour.
