old arguments...
by chelsea on Dec 22, 2009 07:44 PM  | Hide replies

To all you people cribbing about Ponting's behaviour, that was two years ago. Things have changed for the aussies after that. Ponting hasn't been involved in stuff after that.
The match referee is responsible for giving punishments not the aussies.

The what? See the picture of the incident that got watson fined, and see Ponting is right up there with Watson in Gayle send off. Ponting is con artist and he will change tune as needed..

Ponting is only celebrating as usual there. Gayle had been centuries against them.
Ponting is no saint but neither are most of cricketers. Unfortunately being most successful captain, he is attracting too much attention. WI were not saints in that match either. Many of them had a go at Shane Watson when he was batting.

Yes Ponting is celebrating as usual, jumping up and down in front of Gayle while looking at Gayle. That's what called unaccepted send off, and he should have been fined too..

No cricketer is saint.. Period!! And no cricketer is as bad as Ponting and his Aussie team.

The picture is in front of you and you still refused to believe Ponting supported Watson in send off.

Tendulkar is the most successful batsman after bradman, why doesn't he attract so much negative attention?.

Broad's euphemistic comment for the snarling Australian was that "Shane is a very energetic and enthusiastic bowler but on this occasion he has gone too far". But not far enough for a suspension which, seemingly, doesn't apply to Australians.

Other cricketrs from India and other countries are energetic and enthusiastic and they always play to disrupt the game for Mr. Chris Broad.

Ban Shane Watson for match atleast a match
by True Indian on Dec 22, 2009 07:21 PM  | Hide replies

Why the Australian players is easily allowed to escape and their opponents made to suffer.
If they speak nonsense in the field, then Australia should participate in abusive tournament which i am going to organize.
Rules:-
1. Can say anything to the opposition without touching
2.Monkey word not allowed.
etc

Ponting to talk to team mates
by SR Hari on Dec 22, 2009 06:38 PM  | Hide replies

Look, who is preaching.... It's a joke that Ponting says he is embarrassed and that he wants to talk to his team mates about on-field behavior. What was he doing till recently? I am sorry, he never over stepped. He was just aggressive and playing the game very hard. It's always those Indians, Pakistanis, the Sri Lankans who were behaving bad on the field while Ponting and his team was playing the game hard and aggressive.

Should ICC nominate Ponting for a Nobel Peace prize for his initiative?

HSR Sharma

HSR Sharma SRHari:

Good question. What was Ponting doing till recently? :)

How could we forget the violent way in which he led his second string team to make our heroes bit dust in an ODI series? He should be severely punished for those actions. :)

I like your streak of revenge. :)

australian always pointed that harbhajan and saurav ganguly make trouble against them. we find that australian always make trouble to every visiting team in australia. most funny part of the matter is that they escape cheaply . icc must have taken note of it. the players association pokes its nose in most trivial matters but it is silent on misbehaviour of members.

Once it was this moron called Ponting who taught this behavior on the name of aggressive tactics of game. And now he is talking about decency, who is going to believe?? Every time they do something wrong they come with excuse of legality limit. If we check the history of Aussie team for last 10 years or so, they always had issues with teams from subcontinent and now poor WI. And usually match referee set for their matches is from England, NZ or SA who always covers the issue. Then they got frogish media who has no idea about world outside and loves to discriminate the brown or black colored people. So if same was done by say Shrilankans or Indians what would have happened in Aussie media?? There should be strict rules set by ICC regarding on field behavior and teach these moron convicts to behave themselves. Its always them who provoke the opposition to fuel the anger of an individuals. Its a Cricket not politics. If Ponting can't win matches without these third class political tactics then he deserves to play only against Kenya, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Canada and Bangladesh. We should start special coaching academy for Aussie to sort their behavioral issues, even BCCI should offer scholarships to Aussie players. People like Symonds, Watson, Johnson etc. should be send to rehab camp somewhere in Papu the New Gunea, Ponting should be banned and admitted to boarding school to learn decency.

Anup, AP is pleading with you now. He seems to be having a little difficulty understanding why a nice fair looking set of players are blamed so much for a little aggression. What has this world come to. :>)

Kindly point out what third rate tactics did Australia use to beat us recently at home? :)

And please don't say "Sending a second string team was a third rate political tactic". :)

they won due to Indian ordinary performance. Due to Bhajji saga they were not ready to take chances against India probably.

;-). Good. So India being on top of test rankings and doing well in ODIs recently is no big deal either then. :)

Its just that the other teams are playing badly, right? ;-)

Ponting embarassed!!!
by Narayanan Mahalingam on Dec 22, 2009 04:32 PM  | Hide replies

Think Ponting need not be embarrassed. Whatever antics these fellows do, no match referee has got guts to hit where it would hurt.
So, Ponting encourage your guys to appeal for bump catches (you are a doctorate in appealing for such catches by the way), shoulder the opposing fielders and of course, first rate aussie sledging.
world cricket would be poorer without such exemplary on behavior

Really pathetic. I still can't understand why benn was handed a two ODI suspended ban where as others were left with only 5 and 15% files respectively. This again shows, that if you ain't white, you ain't right.
