good to read dada's comments.. while a lot of the players from current lot attribute their success to dada's captaincy...its great that dada is humble enough to acknowledge the contribution of sachin to dada's growth..
however, what is most important to note here is the respect two greats have for each other.. i mean..dada has been a great captain and a very good batsman while sachin is just too good a player.. either of them can proclaim (especially ganguly...this is what non-bengalis talk about him in general) that i am a self-made man..something of this sort..but no.
i wish...we could see more of such co-ordinated efforts all over in India..be it politics or Govt. offices..

Very Nice. These bloody punjabis came from pakistan and excelled because they can do anything for money
Sourav Ganguly has shown that he has the dignity today. I always knew that he was a good cricketer, a fierce competitor, and a street-smart captain. I am sure his wishes for Sachin Tendulkar are heartfelt. When Sachin was captain, the team was going through a transition phase. And thats the reason the team didnt win often. Ganguly took over and did a good job. I never felt there was any animosity between Sachin and Sourav. These 2 guys, along with many others have done a great job.
When everyone else is talking about how Dada is instrumental for shaping up many careers, the man himself says that his career was shaped up by someone who is considered to be a failure as captain (Sachin). How ironic! Sachin is never a failure. Captaincy didnt suit Sachin, thats all. Every player doesnt need to be a good captain. A good captain has to be a good player.
