India's Top Ranking is shortlived
by Anil Sivudu on Dec 07, 2009 02:54 PM  | Hide replies

We will be playing only two Tests until June 2010 and that too against a lowly ranked Bangladesh whereas Aus and SA are playing many Tests and that too against quality sides. This is no good for Cricket India.

So guys rejoice this moment of truth though short.

ENGLAND

England still wants to dominate us. So they are so jealous of us being at top, that after 9 years of the ICC ranking system, they find a fault now that India are no.1, so what happened when Aus. and SA were no.1.
Now that an Indian born Laximi Mittal is richest in Uk they cannot digest.
English people are the laziest in the world, if Indians, Pak, and Bangladesh, and other poor European nations public were to fly back home, there would be disaster in uk, and I can bet on it.

Brits and whites are not bothered about cricket at all.. Only a few here and there.. but majority prefer and like football, hockey, tennis and other sports.. Regarding L. Mittal.. this may be rite.. but not for cricket.. if the same was for football then i would have agreed..

Why all the tamasha!
by VASUDEVAN V on Dec 07, 2009 12:43 PM  | Hide replies

In spite of being a cricket fan, I cannot understand all the tamasha. With all and sundry clamouring for removal of West Indies and Bangladesh from test playing status because of their sub-standard performances (Newzealand is also not far behind) and India not playing Pakistan, we are virtually no.1 among 5 test playing nations. Is it to be called world no.1?The media as usual has no news except this so called world no.1 status news and the President of the country (perhaps she has no other work) congratulates the team. And the BCCI? Announces Rs.25 lacs cash reward to the players and Rs.10 lacs to the selectors. It defies logic! Whereas other sportsmen across so many other games are performing wonders and winning kudos for the country, it is these cricketers among 8 cricket playing nations in the world (even if WI, Bangladesh and Newzealand are included) who get all the laurels. It is pathetic indeed! And the God of this game takes the opportunity to announce that he has no plans of retiring. After all, why should he? He has just earned Rs.25 lacs doing nothing! What a pity!

What a major pessimistic post? When you are doing well in your profession and when you are enjoying it, why would you damn hell leave it? Sachin has done nothing? Sehwag has made you think so. Sehwag has had a match saving hundred and a few 40's and 50's in the series at a good average too. His only failure was in the first innings at Ahmedabad. After that, it was 100*, 40 and 53. BCCI has money and they are giving it out. They will earn 100x more money than that through sponsorship and TV rights. We can have only this many teams in cricket. Already test cricket is declining, and you want more teams?

Absolutely right - we are the kings among 8 - and there are 195 countries in the world? The crowd is crazy, the government even more and BCCI is unbelievable as they make crores and crores but can see only sport in the whole world, Cricket. I also watch cricket, but definitely there are other deserving sports in the country - let BCCI keep apart at least 50% of its annual earnings for other sport activities in the world. Will they? no they won't.

Dhoni Bhajji kitchen politics kept Sreesanth from bowling!!
by exoticbronze on Dec 07, 2009 12:33 PM  | Hide replies

Dhoni and Bhajji's politics kept Sreesanth from bowling more. After his stupendous success in the last test, they - dhoni and Bhajji - grew insecure and were scared that Sreesanth will repeat his success in Mumbai too.

So even though he bowled a tighter line and had more maidens that ZAheer, he was quickly pulled out of the attack, and replaced with Zaheer!

On the last day, only Zaheer was made to bowl and Sreesanth was in the outfield. This Dhoni bhajji politics will create bad blood and ruin this wonderful team. Mark my words!!!

Sreesanth shouldn't be in the team who has taken him in this team.
He should not be playing cricket anymore.
