Ganguly towards the end of his career (when the runs stopped) - he used to manipulate with his team, just to keep himself in the team. I never liked him, neither his batting nor his captaincy - he was too arrogant.
When Maninder joined Vengsarkar, he was on 92. At the end of the partnership, Vengsarkar was 126* and Maninder 6. That means Vengsarkar scored 34 runs and if it is added to maninder's score, it is an atlease 40 runs partnership. How can it be a 38 runs partnership? where is the mistake?
Ganguly's captaincy record abroad shows ge gas now won any series abroad.Dravid Wadekar, Bedi, Pataudi Gavaskar all have won series abroad
In Pak series won two tests Dravid was captain Dada in one. Here is his record.
in Bangladesh Test Match 2000/01 - 1 matches won & serie win ---- Captain Ganguly in Zimbabwe Test Series 2001 - 1 matches won & serie drawn --- Captain Ganguly in Sri Lanka Test Series 2001 - 1 matches won & serie lost ----- Captain Ganguly in West Indies Test Series 2001/02 - 1 matches won & serie lost ----- Captain Ganguly in England Test Series 2002 - 1 matches won & serie drawn --- Captain Ganguly In Australia Test series 2003 -04- 1 matches won & serie Drawn --- Captain Ganguly in Pakistan Test Series 2003/04 - - 1 matches won & serie win ---- Captain Ganguly 1 in Bangladesh Test Series 2004/05 - 2 matches won & serie win --- Captain Ganguly in Zimbabwe Test Series 2005/06 - 2 matches won & serie win --- Captain Ganguly

Captaincy series wins abroad against quality opposition Pataudi one series win Bedi and Wadekar 2 Series wins each against mighty of their times. Azar Ganguly one each against quality oppositiom
but Ganguly Captaincy only series win gainst PAK abroad was shared so credit is devided between Dravid and Ganguly. Dhoni and Gavaskar one each against mighty side of their times Australia. Verdict- Ganguly was not most successful captain as projected by eastern journo and fans. As he captained for much lomger time with support of then Dalmiya. But he could not achieve what Bedi, Wadekar, Dhoni, Gavaskar achieved in shorter duration as captain.

yaaawn.....dada has proven his mettle...he is the king...who are you?
There can be differing opinions on whether a team can have four skippers. Vengsarkar, however makes a basic mistake: He seems to feel that the four will simultaneously lead the team, whereas Buchanan as well as SRK has clearly said that captaincy might be by rotation, each match might have a different captain, but that there will be only one captain for a match.
Ganguly should get the message and do the needful. Instead, he and his ardent (local) followers seem to have taken up a fight. With whom? SRK owns the team, and hence owns Ganguly. SRK can do what he wants. Ganguly must follow orders.
Anyway its a new challenge to sourav dada he is known to accept challenges and was able to make 2 fantastic comebacks in 1996 and 2006 well at nearly 37 he has to play the most shortest form of the game that is T20, Where more than pure cricket skill u reqire fitness IN last IPL dada scored a 93 of 55 balls vs Deccan chargers which shows he can certainly play well in T20 also but will he be able to do it consistently is the new challenge for sourav ganguly
Only an Aussie, who thinks so much about the game creatively could have come out with such an idea - multiple captains for T20. I think it is worth trying in T20, which by itself is an innovation and the game is certainly evolving - so why not the idea of multiple captains. Please don't be dumb like Vengsarkar and think that there are four captains on the field at any given time - there is only one captain for the game, leaving the field open for a different person for the next game in a multi-lateral series like the IPL where there are at least 14 games to be played! There probably would be a lot of incentive as well as pressure on the captain to perform and bring out innnovative changes in field placing, deployment of bowling or batting positions! U never know till you have trid out and if successful, good. If not, throw it out but not before trying it out! U have nothing to loose and everything to gain. Mind you, this suggestion is only for multiple games and not for a bilateral series like India-NZ and certainly not for ODIs and Test Matches.

1. As I mentioned earlierm this idea should not be tried in a multi-lateral series - the national team is definately not where such experimentations work! And when Dhoni is around why experiment for the sake of experimentation? 2. The IPL with multiple nationalities and multiple talents to choose from and pay at will is perhaps the ideal format for such an experimentation. As far as national sides are concerned a leader emerges either by design, such as in Australia or SA or by default as in the case of Ganguly and Dhoni! So national sides should not be where such experiments are tried! 3. With 14 games in the IPL for each time there will be a lot of chances for teams to catch up and experiment - so why not? 4. And lastly, I agree that the same could unearth a lot of talents in their own league matches and therefore worth trying in their respective leagues.... however the idea has a better chance to succeed where the so much more talent is available unlike in other leagues!
