Even a child knows that the move for multiple captains is to chuck out the old man Ganguly. The problem is Ganguly ( inspite of his poor performance) wouldnt retire on his own as he did earlier with the Indian team. The only way to get him out is thro' some back door tactics like this. He is more a politician than a cricketeer and hence KKR would have to resort to some monkey tricks to get him out. Comeon ganguly you have achieved great things and no doubt about that. But also remember to exit honourable when it is time. Dont wait for others to chuck you out.

poor performance...!!! Was one of the top performers of the team in the last season.... won 2 mom and played almost 3 match winning knocks......

then all the non semifinalist teams should be scrapped.... coz as it stands out his performance was better than most of the batters from these teams barring sehwag and gambhir....!!

We fully honour Vengsarkar's criticism on multiple captaincy - theory for KKR. That system will certainly affect the performance of the players. But,it should also be agreed by the cricket lovers in India that only those players should be played who keep the best of their forms and physical fitness, because, it is T20-20 cricket and not the test matches. The younger players should get more chances in this version of the game to maintain its international standard, at least in fielding. THANKS.
Readers, hope we are all enchanted by these dramas enacted by IPL,BCCI and all boards... Next there be will some other controversy to attract more attention....

Everyone should understand one thing. IPL is Big Business. Sourav Ganguly is the crowd puller not only in Kolkata but even in the rest of places. There are millions of die-hard Sourav fans. So one cannot imagine a better appealing captain that Sourav for KKR. Leave the present form, skills apart. Its just for branding Sourav is made as the icon & captain of Kolkata. For eg just imagine if Lakshmi Ratan Shukla or Gayle or Mcaullum is made the captain..will KKR have the same kick !!! When you say KKR vs Chennai Superkings..means ... Sourav Vs Dhoni..there is a lot of interest generated.So for these excitement Sourav shd continue as the captain.

spot on....thats the reason shahrukh said no KKR without Dada....he knows the repurcussions if Dada is sidelined... I am happy that buchanan is been shown the middle finger...
Aussies spend all their life thrashing India,calling it 3rd world, blame them when things go wrong on the field etc. But they are the first in line when it comes to minting money from India. Why didnt the daredevils team give a chance to a young aspiring Indian seamer, who could also get a taste of SA conditons, than allowing the likes of Mcgrath who's 40 and millitary medium now? Other 'luminaries' include chappell and a so called biomechanic Frazer,who also terminated pathans career and loads of sundry aussies who make money by commentating,chatting etc.And sad part is, BCCI seems ever ready to accomodate all of them.Dada rules

THEORITICALLY YOU ARE RIGHT.BUT BCCI HAS MADE THE CRICKET MORE OF BUSINESS THAN JUST A GAME AND THAT IS MAKING ALL THE DIFFERENCE.
Dada had a very poor fitness problem to play for any type of cricket game and Vengsarkar had to drop him for that reason . Also for mediocre performance,with so many youngsters available Buchanan was absolutly correct. Vengsarkar and others like him behave like chameleon , try to please the people of Bengal so that they are not sidelined in Bengal.The job of media as of today as because it is controlled ( courtsy Bhaskar Ghosh and Rathin Bose, the then sec. to both Information and Commun. Dept)by people from Dada's region is to always downplay others and try to focus Dada irrespective of his performance and bad behaviour. If Dada is not here they will focue Bipasha Basu or Rani Mukherjee. They are fit to compete with Hindiwalas as the standard of Bengal is comparable only to Bimaru states
Dada has made millions, his physical status is not at all good, he shies to talk to players, his fielding is worst in the world. Why should he be so much worried about loosing captaincy.
According to me, IPL format may be batter with multiple captains. Players from diff. geographies are in the team, to ensure better understanding and 'gelling' of players into common mould Buchanan has come up with this Idea, whic is not bad at all. Whatz wrong if Ponting takes up captaincy on rotation ?
Is it the game or mindless fans important? In India, fans want to rule even team members, WB fans are totally mindless people.

IPL has no South Indian captains now - I feel very happy about it, thrash states with trash people like this srinivas doesnot deserve any better!
