The theory of buchanan to have multiple captain is nothing but to show dada the exit door. They cannot do that straight away in india and particularly in kolkata if buchanan wants to stay alive as coach of KKR. Even shahrukh understands the influence of Ganguly in Kolkata and made the statement "No KKR without dada". Why don't you understand?

Coach vs Owner
by CN Sankaran on Apr 01, 2009 10:25 PM  | Hide replies

It has been already established during the First Edition of IPL - Vijay Malya 'sacking' the Manager! Vengsarkar should know IPL is Business - nay Gambling. OWNER will decide every thing! The BIG Question is has the Coach informed the Owner Khan before he spoke to the Media?

Ganguly has ALREADY experienced playing after being sacked as Captain for INDIA. Why not now for IPL?

I am not sure whether the likes of Ganguly, Dravid can shine in the present day T 20 competitions. Look at the opening players around. Sehwag, Gambhir, Warner , Gibbs ( on the downhill), Gilchrist ( on the downhill, lure of money). Is Ganguly at his present age in the same league as the one mentioned above? Ganguly has been a fighter, excellent player and a successful captain in test match cricket and one day cricket. No denying that but T 20 might not be for slow moving ( bad fielding) veterans. If Ganguly still is chosen ( as he is now) for T 20, then let him shoulder the additional responsibility of a captain

Buchanan will do to KKR what Greg Chappel did to the Team India. The Aussie coaches are essentially trojan horses.

Well i want to ask everyone one question.

WHY CANT John Buchanan OR ANYONE ASK GANGULY TO SIT AS JUST A PLAYER AND SERIOUSLY HAVE ANOTHER CAPTAIN?

INSTEAD THEY ARE JUST TELLING ..'LETS PLAY A FEW OTHER CAPTAINS...ETC"

SO IT MEANS THESE PEOPLE ARE AFRAID OF GANGULY BECAUSE GANGULY ACT LIKE SOME PRINCE OF CALCUTTA ,AND SO DO THE LOYAL FANS OF HIM.

SO FEARING ONE PERSON WONT DO GOOD TO ANY COUNTRY,STATE OR A TEAM.

IGNORE HIS PRINCE LIKE ATTITUDE AND JUST VIEW HIM AS A NORMAL PERSON.THEN HE AND THE TEAM WILL BE ALRIGHT.

By the way, have you ever experienced a cricket ball hitting your ribcage? Look at the details of last year's IPL. KKR did win only the matches (except the opening one) where Ganguly contributed.

No need to Riducule the Idea...
by AjS on Apr 01, 2009 08:26 PM

We dont have to riducule the idea of bringing the innovation into the Game. But need to look at the other factors such as, IPL is the Entertainment business and need a crowd-puller like Ganguly and hence he plays a vital role - I dont see anyone else in KKR to do so, Secondly it was a big mess-up by Buchanan in front of the media and pushed Ganguly for cover - a typical Aussi behaviour, thirdly these innovations work well with the Australia/SA and those were failed miserably with Indian/Sub-continent. Most importantly this must have been discussed in detail along with all stake-holders and have Ganguly announced this than Mr. Buchanan. Aussies are not learning the sub-continent behaviour, which is only my concern....
