ICL
by VAIDYANATHAN BALAKRISHNAN on Sep 20, 2008 09:52 AM

HOPE BCCI TAKES A LESSON OR TWO FROM THIS MOVE OF SRI LANKA. WHAT IS THE HARM OF PLAYERS SIGNING FOR ICL? IT IS THE GAME "CRICKET" THAT SHOULD ALLOWED TO PROGRESS. THE GOOD PLAYERS FROM THE ICL MUST ALSO BE SELECTED FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM, LIKE THE PLAYERS FROM IPL ARE IN THE NATIONAL TEAM.

Rebels- what rubbish
by Yash Bhatnagar on Sep 20, 2008 12:57 AM  | Hide replies

They are professional cricketers trying to make a living. Why are they rebels? It is not like they are supporting any illegal regime.
This is nonsense started by Lalit Modi and his BCCI chamchas who want to have total monopoly over a national sport in this day and age.
Good on Kapil Dev for standing up against this nonsense. The cricket administration has become so political - instead of bringing sportsmanship into politics India is bringing politics into sports. Well done.

If you dont know the reason, how ICL was born, just shut up. It was not Kapil. It was Subhash Chandra? do you know who is he?

Give me a break. ICL started first and Kapil never said that ICL players cannot participate in BCCI events. It was BCCI who did that. So please do your homework before commmenting on who is dividing cricket world. Moreover, BCCI shameless BCCI copied ICL concept to start IPL and flexed its muscles to ensure that ICL does not succeed (not allowing use of grounds, threatening payers with bans).

absolutely agree - they shamelessly copied the ICL concept and then used its muscle power by not allowing use of grounds by ICL and threatening players with bans.

Please don't term ICL players as Rebels. Will appreciate if you remove that term from your headlins.

The real rebel is IPL, as it was the rebel league formed in response to ICL.
