i am surprised by the bcci decesion to only slap a 50% match fee on lalchand rajput. as a manager of the indian team, he should have displayed more proactiveness in stopping Bhajji. instead of that he seen on TV laughing at the incident. he should be removed from the post of manager for the national team.

Dravid like old movies like Dostana, Naseeb, Khudkarz, Dosti.....
by Swamy BJ on May 14, 2008 07:44 PM  | Hide replies

If Vijay Mallya had his way, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Robin Uthappa and Brendon McCullum would have donned the Royal Challengers' colours in his dream Bangalore team rather than Mark Boucher, Anil Kumble, Sunil Joshi or even Rahul Dravid, sources close to Mallya have said.

But now that Challengers are almost out of the IPL tournament with a slim chance of making it to the semi-finals if they win all five remaining matches, Mallya is considering changing his players, including Dravid, next year if the rule book allows him to do so.

Dravid had to be signed on following the BCCI norm of including 'icon players', despite the fact that he had never played a Twenty20 game, RCB managers say.

After Mallya's outburst on Monday, RCB officials blame Dravid for choosing 'conservative' players like himself, when the team was being picked finally, even as Mallya had drawn up his own shortlist of players and was very keen on Dhoni and Uthappa, among others, according to sources close to him. In fact, RCB officials are now hoping that Dravid resigns from the team on his own.

While Mallya was really keen to get Dhoni and wanted to bid for him, Dravid insisted that "there is no need for such an expensive player", sources close to Mallya said. The same went for McCullum, whom Dravid is believed to have turned down and instead settled for Mark Boucher.

RCB managers were surprised when 38-year-old Sunil Joshi, a local player, was signed for $30,000 since he is not even part of th

Cricket is not the part of culture. May be culture is part of cricket. But our politicricketers always want to dominate game. Sadly, this is the cricket misfortune.

IPL started to influence the local talent, but the franchise putting big money and denying the upcoming cricketers, just see their own words, how the young ranji players reacting for their owners step-mother behaviour, but no media is highlighting this, since that is not worth for the media and putting red carpet to foreigners.

Yesterday I saw him in enjoying the victory of KKR along with SRK. Being the chairperson of IPL he should be neutral. But sadly this guy is biasing in his own way.

you got to realize that dravid has had a hard time. when he wanted to be aggressive then people were on his backs too.

the one instance when he declared with tendulkar on 196 comes to mind.

Harbhajan's ban

A punishment deserved. He has been getting away with intemperate behaviour for a long time.

Sreesanth should mind his words and not provoke others unnecessarily.

Malayalees are wonderful people.
by Anup Nair on May 14, 2008 07:37 PM  | Hide replies

Malayalees are the only people in the country who dont take any insults to their brethren seriously.
If possible, they too would join others in ridiculing sreesanth.
Perhaps rest of India shud learn from Malayalees.Maybe then people would get rid of their parochial mentality and see the person and not where he is from...

Definitely a malayali will ridicule people like sreesanth because though he is a malayali, he is the most arrogant chap since his school days. His on field behaviour and the way he talk while TV interviews shows this. Thats why the SMS spread is enjoyed by every malayali 'I asked one from so many people, finally i got one'. According to many, he really deserves it, after that beating he learnt to talk malayalam to malayalam tv channels.
