RE:Harbhajan Ban
by rahul bajaaj on May 14, 2008 10:05 PM
MR RAMU,

I'M CONFUSED WHETHER PEOPLE LIKE YOU SUPPORT FOR BHAJJI OR TALKING OTHERWISE. BECAUSE. IF HE GOES FOR REAPPEAL AGAINST THE BAN (DEFINITELY HE WOULD NOT), HE WOULD SURELY BE BANNED FOR LIFE.

BECAUSE OF HIS UNCONDITIONAL PLEADING AND CRYING ONLY HE HAS BEEN LET OFF WITH LESSER PUNISHMENT. IF PEOPLE LIKE YOU GO FOR REAPPEAL AGAINST THE DOUBLE SENTENCE, THEN DEFINITELY HE WOULD BE GIVEN ONLY ONE SENTENCE-ie. LIFE BAN.

The entire scene is not a punishment of crime.. but for not showing the professionalism and gentlemanship that cricket stands for.

Immaturity and unprofessional behavior both by sreesanth and bhajji is what is being condemned

cricket-the life of india. is it worth it?
by mary seven on May 14, 2008 09:27 PM  | Hide replies

sir,

it is mazing to note that there are 222 reactionary messages recorded from the honourable readers of your column.

what i note is this:

. there are hardly any responses from the readers on other, more important matters covered in your coulmns.

. to me it is therefore, very clear that we are a nation of the impoverished, who are in the need of the 'cricket-fodder' to keep us going. our souls and hearts are sensitive to nothing else, including the miseries of other people and other grave matters concerning our daily, civic life!!!

. from general reaction, it seems that we are quite happy keeping pakistan as our main rival and feel quite happy competing with them and trying to win.

. isn't that a pity? we want to compare ourselves with that tiny nation which is nothing in comparison whereas we are terrified to even talk about competing with other prominent nations in other sports and other activities.

.how and why it has happenned this way? do we have no collective self-respect as a nation?
have we, finally, been reduced to a mere self-praising nation??

well said mary,
i agree with you to the same extent but can not understand your insistance on calling cricket fans insensitive. there is nothing wrong in being funloving i believe. what this has to do with lessening the self-respect? nobody compares india with pakistan but acceptance that this tiny country is our main enemy is nothing but just a truth. and why you want us to cry on the tragedies? this will only spread hatred. everybody is sad for what happened but shouldn't we keep things moving in right spirit? panicking should be avoided i believe. what's wrong in that? please don't be so hard on funloving people and self-praising is not always bad, it's an art in fact.

India vs Pakistan

Indian and Pak soldiers fight each other and die.

Indian and Pak cricket teams play each other.

Rest of the country watch and enjoy the game and send their children to fight the war.

American companies benefit.

Drink more coke and pepsi and american brand shoes and what not.

That is a wonderful analogy you have got. But what ever you have told is true. One of the main problem in India is people lacking a little on self esteem.

Readers dont raise against me, I'm in US and i consider myself unique and proud because i'm from India. I pity the Americans atleast 60% of the time.. but appreciate the good hearts.. their dedication.

The problem with the present indian generation is they are not able to appreciate India for the great culture it is.. All they do is blame someone else for what ever they go through.

See, this attitude is what is said in the comment above. If you dont do your exams well do you think your teacher should still give you passing marks.. probably that is your idea. Criticisim is to be taken for your own improvement. Check yourself.

Appreciating Bajji for teaching much needed lesson to monkey and over action Srisanth, definitely some body would have slapped Srisanth some where some time in near future, luckily Sri slapped by fellow Indian bajji, at least from now Srisanth should learn how to behave, there are tons of players in India and world who is top talented but 99% behaves properly not like Idt Moneky Srisanth

Bit too harsh for Bhajji. Hope he will not commit such mistakes and stop abusing players.
But BCCI has shown that they are strict against such matters.
They were right in warning Sreesanth and further bad behaviour should be dealed strictly by BCCI.
Talent and performance are not the only thing that matters on field. Good conduct is also important to gain respect from oppositon and team mates.

DEFINITELY FOR 1000000000000000000000% BHAJJI WONT REPEAT THIS BEHAVIOUR IN FUTURE BECAUSE HUGE MONEY IS INVOLVED (ALREADY HE IS INCURRING HEAVY LOSSES). HEREAFTER, SREESANTH WILL ALSO BEHAVE LIKE A SAINT.

ANYONE CAN DO PhD ON BHAJJI & SREESANTH'S BEHAVIOUR-U- TURN FROM TIGER TO CAT.

"Bit too harsh for Bhajji"?

Not really!

What this ill-mannered animal Bhajji requires is electro-therapy directly administered to his colo-rectal area and as soon as possible!

Every passing minute is precious time lost in curing him of this impudent ailment!!

WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY?
1 WHETHER BOTH HARBHAJAN AND SREEANTH SHOULD BE PUSNISHED OR
2. BOTH OF THEM SHOULD NOT BE PUNISHED?

Both of them should be punished
The Punishment must match the level of offence.
As it is an insignificant offence, both of them should have been let off wit a warning and a fine instead of the shame BHAJJI alone has been subjected to.
it only shows the racist nature of the BCCI under pawar

Punishment is ok but double standards are not justified. People in BCCI are using this as an opportunity for troubling Bhajji.
