They are slaves, should show result
by nirmal narayanan on May 13, 2008 11:12 AM  | Hide replies

they sold cricket to these millionaires, they became their servants they became the working class for these liquor barron and bollywood kings, so they have to answer their questions of integrity. This is not cricket , this is business, and when you are working for someone who have thrown millions into the business, you should work hard for your boss. Vijay mallya is the boss here, Rahul and Charu may be icons in sports field, but here they are just 'Workers' of Vijay Mallya, the boss, so they have to provide the result.

Otherwise they will be thrown out, TCS fired 500 of its employees who was not profitable to their business, same is the case with these 'Cricket workers'. They sold their dignity when they were bought by these barons, literally they are the 'SLAVES of their bosses' they should show result or should be thrown out. This is business, they are slaves of Mallya and slaves for Bangalore citizens.

It is everywhere a question of doing your job well. It doesn't matter who you are, where you work, and even whether you work for someone... At the end of the day, that is all that it boils down to...

If you think about it, every Indian cricketer essentially 'works' for the BCCI... they can be the greatest superstar, yet not be in the team because the selectors decide not to include them, and surprise, surprise, the BCCI selectors aren't even paid professionals!! At least in this case, the people buying players (essentially selecting a squad) definitely have winning on their minds, or at least the question of their own fat paychecks to keep them working hard.

I am not saying this is better than the other, but I do want to point out that there is always another point of view...

Just enjoy the cricket, dude!! And if you don't, well, surely you can go watch something else? :)

Just enjoy the cricket! yes that is what i do. But we don't expect these BRC to fare so poor, they are riding on the expectations of Mallya and Bangaloreans, and some people here trying to justify Rahul and trying to sympathetise with him, just don't understand that.

But this IPL definitely reminds one of the old Roman empire, were they bought slaves from other countries and the slaves have to fight with each other or with wild animals for the entertainment of the people, and if like these gladiators if these cricketers cannot entertain their fans they should be thrown out! because this is cricket as well as business! and no one should question the team owner if he throws out a player however famous he may be!

What Rahut thought...
by Chandra Paul on May 13, 2008 11:07 AM  | Hide replies

After a series of bad performances Rahul was left out midway of the Australia tour in India & Australia. So Rahul thought of selecting a balanced Test team and lead to the Finals/Semis, so that he can send can strong msg to BCCI. As most of the teammates are not upto the mark BRC are at the bottom of the table and with a timebomb in his purse.

Um... wouldn't it be in fact *better* if you played more matches?? More matches = more chance of winning = more chance getting points??

See where the problem lies with your logic??

I'd suggest a little bit of *thinking* before you start bickering about something silly.

And no, I am not from Mumbai... :)

Ooopssss... I guess I should be doing a bit more thinking too... :) :D :D

Anyway, I think you'll find everyone plays everyone else, so everyone plays the same number of matches... :)

Bechara Mallya
by rakesh kumar on May 13, 2008 10:53 AM

Mallaya should concentrate on his Daru-Dhanda only. Cricket tere bas ki baat nahin hai re... Kyoun tension leta hai. Dravid knows he is fit for test matches and Charu witout Mandira can't do anything.. Guess why..

Bad press for RCB - self goal by Mallya
by Demo-crazy on May 13, 2008 10:49 AM

Mallya has ensured there is more publicity (or bad publicity?) for the Royal Challengers brand by this deliberate public display of his disappointment with his team.

Even if the team is at the bottom, the brand recognition is pretty high because of this bickering in public.

One is not sure whether this will result in more sale of RC and other UB products or not. But one thing is sure - Mallya has got himself and his team enough bad press.

by sshetty on May 13, 2008 09:50 AM

Its rubbish to talk about statistics and list of players now. Dravid can't do magic on field, only thing is Mallaya should be patience and trust the RC. Dravid Fans like me get frustrated and stop drinking UB brand nor fly kingfisher :)

Anurag are you forgetting one more contributor of the triangle. He was Kiran More.Dravid-Chappel-More these three were busy more into politics rather than Cricket. Now the situation is bounced back to Dravid. He has choosen the players whom he likes ignoring the eligebility. So Dravid needs to pay for this and his team.It is very aweful to see a great player like Dravid is so narrow minded.I really feel sorry to write this.Anyway we like to remember the great wall Dravid not the politician Dravid.

Rubbish
by Parameshwara Tunga on May 13, 2008 09:05 AM

If Royal Challengers won 2 more matches he would have by now flying. Unfortunately they started loosing from the begining. It is the fate of the owner and not the player. Why don't he look at Deccan chargers with such good players and they are not far ahead. I don't agree his statements that some one barred him for bidding the good player. When he is bidding with his money I would have been his adviser for a best team!!. But the luck always go with the fate of the owner like his last contest in the general election.

Support SRK and KKR
by Vijay on May 13, 2008 08:29 AM  | Hide replies

1) Amongst all teams only SRK has invested his hard earned money in this event.

2) Unlike Businessmen funding other teams all SRK's money were earned by him with his own acting and movie making talent and spending 300 crores plus to organize an event for an actor takes lots of business guts and sensibility.

3) He backs the team passionately even if they are not doing well..Has better ideas to promote and market the team.

4) There are no ego clashes in the team inspite of too many superstars

4) Sambar Idili fans sees SRK as overconfident and Ganguly as Arrogant and they would fail but contrary to the beliefs they both are sucessful.

SRK also gets his "hard earned money" from dancing in parties/weddings - like a cheer leader. Let me remind you that he bid for the Mumbai team and then the Kolkatta - he care a f about u bongs - its money in the end. I dont think they stand a chance to qualify.

SRK making money from talent - what a joke. He wants to promote his movies, six-packs dance like a 13year old girl in the stadium.
btw, Idli-Sambar with liquor rules as Dal-Rotis come to Idli-Sambar land for work and jobs.

you know why dal-roti come to idli-sambhar land for work and jobs! coz, dal-rotis always fought for country, independence always prevented invadors from coming to south. Terrorism hit them hard(close to our terrorism sponsoring neighbour).

idli-sambhar was always busy pleasing britishers, learning english, getting english government jobs and build a good reputation in eyes of english speaking ppl..

The dal-rotis in their halcyon days welcomed idli-sambhars to study in their universities. The feelings were reciprocated by idli-sambhars who let dal-rotis migrate down south when the foreign invaders were baying for dal-roti blood. It is this idli-dal/roti-sambhar culture that has helped us survive. United we stand divided we fall ..
