Sehwag did an excellent job, but dravid & laxman spoiled the game
Dravid wasted more baals and Laxman, i dont have words to explain abt him. Why he scored a single and allowed the bowlers to face the balance 5 balls from the bowler like Steyn. Whether he has feared or want to be not out batsman. If he faced some more balls and India would have gained another 50 or 60 runs with tail enders
i feel that Lara knock was much better and came on a more bowler friendly track, where as Sehwags knock came on a batsman friendly track where there was nothing in it for the bowlers. Even my mom could have gone and made a triple century.

You are mistaken. Lara's knock too came on a featherbed. If anything Sehwag's knock came against a better team with a better set of bowlers.

Come on Rajat, do you have any sense? Making a triple century is not a cup of coffee. Moreover, you need to check out that how it was made with superb and attacking batting display. You kind of people are always against good....

Rajat, tere baap ne kabhi cricket kheli hain kya? Lara's record came un much higher balls than that of Sehwag's. Secondly, Proteans are supposedly better bowling team than the rest of the lot (excluding Aussies). Thirdly, the kind of climate the match was played in, also had a big hand. Next time when these buggers are playing, try putting your 'mum' on the field, we'll see what happens.
The triple century itself is a great achievement. But scoring it better than run a ball is something magical and dream like.Actually he could have scored 300 within a day but Jaffer and Dravid consumed too many dot balls.Sehwag's 2 triple centuries r better than Lara's 2.Reasons r 1.Lara got triple hundreds in last tests in both the series.Series was already decided and there was less impact on the match. But Sehwag scored it in the first match of both the series. 2.Both times Lara got triple hundred match ended in draw. But Sehwag's triple gave India victory in Multan and we had a definite chance against SA if he continued there. 3.Strike rate of Sehwag was better than that of Lara. 4.Lara aims records and he plays for it if it is achievable.Sehwag never try for records and even not hesitant to play big shots even when he is nearing a record or feat.

For U 2 guys, "He is just expressing his views mates, I hope you guys understood too. This is a discussion board, not a English grammar test, neither our mother tongue. Animesh kale and Pushkar naskar (you 2 look like mix double entity to me)
It is difficult to compare Lara's innings with that of Shewag's. Money speaks, nothing else. Thorpe knew this will fetch him a permamnent commentator job and it is only the initial absurd comment, many more to come, we will have lots of fun.

Cheelu - Lara was aiming at record but not for winning the match. Sehwag was not aiming for record, his aim was to get closer to South African total.

Hi, have you seen those innings of Lara........ If not you are lucky... Otherwise you would be flat as today our Dravid was doing...
I think if he has scored in northern part of India, people would have celebrated with greate spirit - as a festival I would say. In south India people are much bothered of earning and saving money. At max they may celebrate if something has achieved by a localite..
If it was done by a bangalorean the TOI India might have published a full page picuture of him in first page.

u r rite mate........ the page is full of dravids laureals..... as if sehwag has done nothing......
Shewag One of the very few gifted batsmen in the cricketing world to destroy the bowlers no matter who the opponent is and no matter where he plays.
The way he batted in chennai is going to be the best innings in test format for me sure but this record is soon going to be broken by the same man again Wait4 the best out of Shewag

Sehwag's 300 was an highly imaginative innings with his trade mark savage cuts, that was wielded with full confidence of the willow, that was evident in the manner the drives, cuts and reverse sweeps were played, so unique to Sehwag. It was a typical Sehwag thrashing which sent the opposition scurrying for cover. There are very few top order Indian batsmen who can boast of having done that. Sandeep Patil and Kapil Dev's name strikes my mind immediately and presently Yuvraj Singh.
He is not only a talented batsman but also very different in his thinking. He says when the ball deserves to be hit it should be hit and he does what he says not bothering about the reputation of the bowler. He has the reputation of hitting a century on debut.
He is not short of confidence, and he is not short of talent and he is not short of positive attitude and the result is there for all of us, the paying public, to see.
Lara's 375 and 400 a comparison
Both the innings were played in English summer in cold conditons of June/July, and therefore lesser physical drain, and so one becomes less tired and therefore less energy lost.
Despite these advantages he scored 375 runs at a much slower pace than Sehwag's 319, the said run having come in 538 deliveries and 400* off 582 deliveries. whereas Sehwag scored 319 runs off only 304 balls that means a strike rate of 104.93
A comparison of a double hundred by an Australian in the same Chepauk ground

sehwag did an spendid job.... but guys dont undermine lara's effort too..... he is a legend .... both hav a class of thier own.....
Cant help the feeling that one triple century more is round the corner from the same man. The way he is playing and the pace which he scores is amazing and he scoring triple hundred does'nt look any difficult. It was delight to watch the likes of Nitini , Morkel and Styn made to look very ordinary. If you dont call this class when what more you may term thisas ? You have 3 Technically best Batsman playing the same match- Sachin, Laxman, and Dravid. Sehwag looked equally good in there class and to and extent even more gifted when it gets to stroking throug off side.
