If u all r looking for a clue to why Ganguly is best batsman world have ever produced then it is here, Ganguly sustain his spectacular runs both in Test and one day cricket since his debut with highest number of sixes in one day, his eyes speak of a tiger who destroyed Macgrath, Akram, Waqar, Sohaib, Lee and Warne with utmost ease and also he is a combination of composure and technique. Other players gets charged up just with presence of Ganguly, Dhoni didn%u2019t select Ganguly as he was sure that Ganguly become captain of one day after tri-series. Ganguly marked new height in his career when he single-handedly won matches for India from 1998-2001 while others struggled. Ganguly supported Yuvraj Singh and Bhajji in 2002 as selection comitte almost throwed them out, just imagine if Bhajji was not there in Australia for Perth test and tri-series final then India would have lost Perth test and tri-series finals as he bowled some tight and wicket taking overs. In one days against Sri Lanka if Yuvraj didn%u2019t score 76 then India would have been out of triagular series, so indirectly because of Ganguly India won tri-series as both Yuvraj and Bhajji r in team because of Ganguly, Indian Board should award Ganguly for his effforts and give him captaincy for test and one day.

however much yu may rant, ganguly and dravid are history. they will be played in the tests only, and then will be allowed to retire gracefully.

I am a staunch fan of Ganguly, the captain of yesteryears, though not so much of his batting since 2005. I have always admired him for his attitude - having aggression, desire to win, choosing youngsters and reposing faith in them etc. and most importantly for being free from regional feelings. He never pushed for any deserving player from Kolkata, Bengal or East Zone during his tenure as captain, except for Dhoni who belongs to East Zone. If Rohan Gavaskar was included briefly in the team, it was perhaps justified by his form at that time.

However, there are limits up to which one can stretch his support to Ganguly. He gave an interview to Times Now TV channel a few days back and hinted indirectly that Dhoni will come back as a loser in the CB ODI series and thereby would have learnt his lessons (i.e. seniors are a must in the team).

People forget that Dhoni did have and encourage players like Yuvraj and Bhajji in his ODI team and kept them in the team despite their poor form throughout the series. One 76 does not make Yuvi a match winner nor two tight spells by Bhajji.

People also forget that the socalled senior in the team, Sachin, performed only after he was openly pushed and prodded (provoked?) by Dhoni in a post match press interview.

I am extremely happy that India today has a no nonsense, transparent, outspoken ODI captain.

The selectors would have done a fantastic job for the future of Test team, if today they name Virender Sehwag as captain.

Pathan is in team because of Ganguly and Pathan was man of the match in Perth test, so Ganguly is a kingmaker and full credit must be given to Ganguly for India%u2019s win in Australia both in test and oneday.
Steve Wagh was scared of Ganguly as Dada has been batting with huge freedom in those days and most noticeable feature about his cricket has been his aggressivenes and Royal walk. Even Bradman didn%u2019t faced the dreadful bowlers like Ganguly faced so Dada is best ever cricketer. Toughest challenge lies ahead for youngesters to take Dada%u2019s place, even 5 young batsman together cannot fill Ganguly%u2019s spot so at last selection committee will have no option other than to again select Dada for one day and then make him captain both for test and one day. Shahrukh also bought Calcutta team only because he knew that Ganguly is only the original match winner and others r playing only for securing their place in team, Shahrukh didn%u2019t took Dhoni and Yuvraj in his team because of Ganguly so Shahrukh sacrificed both Dhoni and Yuvraj as he cannot dream of his team without Ganguly. All Indian players know very well that Ganguly is best batsman in world. Even Ponting was so much of happy for Dada%u2019s exclusion that he openly said that he is surprised for Dada%u2019s omission and then from there Ponting took Indian team very lightly without Ganguly and so India won tri-series so it was Dada only who won tri-series for India in Australia. Ponting thought that Indian team is nothing without Dada.

Indian team did well as a team. we now are independent of individual players. its someone or the other chipping in. and rightly so. this is a good direction to take. the game should rise above individuals.

Lara is over the hill and got out cheaply for single digit scores in all the matches he played in ICL league. It is a good riddance for ICL if he does not come back. It would be better for ICL to get some other player in place of Lara, may be even a local lad.

I am happy to watch players like T P Singh, Mongia, Kumaran, Sodhi play very well in ICL matches.

Also, the competitive interest seems to have gone up with Lahore Badshahs looking almost like a Pakistan team - mix of old and new!

Wishing good luck to ICL to grow and shine and continue to be a source of bother to the monopolistic BCCI.

Kapil paaji, do u think u are doing a great service to cricket with ICL.Let me ask you one question, what did u do as the Chairman of NCA?Nothing. Is it because u were not paid?Look at what Ravi Shastri has done.He is roped in Dav Whatmore, as director of operations,Paul Close, the physio and Paul Chapman, the fitness trainer.Plans are afoot to bring on board John Harner, a renowned bio-mechanist to work on fast-bowlers' injuries and rehabilitation. He has done wonders 6 months into his job. What did u do?And now u are crying hoarse on TV about trying to improve the quality of domestic cricket. You have no understanding of the requirments of a modern cricketer.

I agree. Kapil is only interested in making money. While there is nothing wrong with that and I also agree cricket should not be a small group's monopoly, Kapil should just be honest and admit the money desire and not resort to hog was like improving cricket. Improving domestic cricket through a few 20/20 matches?? Give me a break. Does he seriously think this will churn out the next gen of great Test cricketers??

Kapil take very wrong position in ICL. He shows his negative thinking. If he was sure that ICL is doing right then ICL has to prove it. There was no need to speak about anything. No need to complain. India is a country where you show ability then n then public will accept. Not only accept, they will start loving. gr8 examples in current situations are: Sachin, Reliance, IT, Aamir, Modi, Lalu. Mr. Bachhan. Speak less, show your abilities!!! Indian people has sense what is correct and incorrect. Isn't it?
