Please don't encourage IPL
by Murugavel Anniyamman on Mar 14, 2008 08:13 PM  | Hide replies

Guys, please don't support or encourage any teams. It's only in the greater interest of the country.

Once these players start getting enough money from these leagues, they'll start ignoring national team.

And after they face each other in these lagues, there will be rivalry among our own players.

Most of all, so much money kills the spirit of the game.

i am very hopeful that ur prophecy really comes true...to be honest i am against the whole cricket and if ur prophecy comes true it would be a good day for me....already i hope the teams are withering out..i belive Zimbabwe, west indies are in ruins..so would be pakis..and then we are left with only australia..england,kenya, bangladesh, srilanka,..and then we wud have teams from USA, UAE where ever we have indians..i am excited at that prospect...and hopefully cricket should fizzle out as i dont think there is much excitment to watch india bangladesh or india vs uganda, india vs rawanda, india vs congo....oh mate..i really want ur prohecy to be true...

Kiran more don't bluff anyone. You are here to make money.Just don't fool people.ok.You thought that after the WC07 Indian team's stock would dip and you planned to seize the opportunity by cashing in on the discontent among people. But Alas, God has his own ways and the Indian team has performed fantastically over the past 12 months.Your CEO Himanshu Modi was shouting on TV that India cannot win any tournament unless a league like ICL exists. So the reason behind India's triumph in England,T20 WC,Australia and at home against Pakistan is the ICL.Himanshu also made a claim that ICL will unearth a guy better than Dhoni.Where is he?Every team in your league has a foreign wicket-keeper(barring 1 or 2 teams).Stop making these claims about improving domestic cricket and concentrate on fulfilling your real purpose, make money out of an industry called "cricket".Mr.Kiran More, you are talking about Sachin Dholpure being a great talent.Stop it.When Mr.Dholpure was one of the highest run-scores in Ranji Trophy Plate division(2004-05 season)and wasn't picked for the Central Zone squad, you gave an explanation that performances in Plate League do not matter and pointed to his first-class average(29.81).So much for accusing BCCI.Stop whining about BCCI's tactics. Will rediff allow it's employees to work in Yahoo or any other company(atleast part-time).

I think ICL has made the right decision to bring Lahore Pakistani team%u2026to give viewers a reasonable enthusiasm%u2026

But IPL Sachin%u2019s Mumbai Indians have already won a mind game by selecting %u201CNo Aussie & Pakistani Players%u201D in their .Squad which includes some of the Srilankan players like Jayasuriya, Malinga, Fernando & SouthAfrican Players Loots Bosman & Shaun Pollock%u2026only.
Probable XI: 1 Sachin Tendulkar (capt), 2 Sanath Jayasuriya, 3 Ajinkya Rahane, 4 Robin Uthappa, 5 Manish Pandey, 6 Sourabh Tiwary, 7 Shaun Pollock, 8 Pinal Shah (wk), 9 Harbhajan Singh, 10, Lasith Malinga, 11 Dilhara Fernando.
So though I am from Tamilnadu%u2026.i would still love to see Mumbai on Final%u2026Only because it doesnot have any Arrogant Aussies & Terrorists Paks%u2026%u2026
I wish Chennai & Mumbai for the Finals..and the Mumbai becomes champs., as I don%u2019t want hayden smiles even for my Chennai team%u2026..

IT IS BECAUSE OF ICL THAT BCCI STARTED PAYING MORE TO PLAYERS. SHARAD PAWAR IS BUSY ORGANISING CRICKET WHEN FARMERS ARE COMMITTING SUICIDES IN VIDARBHA.

I feel Shane Bond also will do the same in future, I feel there wud be a exodus of players especially foreign player to IPL because of the big money. foreign players r here just for money nothing else. ICL should realize that having these foreign players will not improve our domestic players in any way. These foreign will go where ever there is big money on offer.
