Foir the last one week, Bajjis issue flared up in all TV channels and news papers. ICCI vs BCCI. But why Leftists are silent. So far I have not seen commenbts from them. Protest from them. Suggestion from them...R they only show interest in foot-ball not Circket... For Gunguly they took up in Parlaimnet...why they are silent now... Why they are not supporting Indian players, BCCI, and Bajji...? mgr@starbucksimpex.com
Why Ponting's heroes just don't appeal to me Email Printer friendly version Normal font Large font Michael Epis January 9, 2008
THE FINAL WORD I DON'T like cheats. And I don't like this Australian cricket team. When Andrew Symonds bowled a straight one on the last day of the SCG Test to Rahul Dravid, who padded up, deflecting the ball into the gloves of Adam Gilchrist, did any of the Australians really think it was out? I doubt it. No one watching on TV thought it was out. It wasn't out. Ricky Ponting and his cohorts knew it. Dravid's bat was behind his pad. To appeal when you know the batsman is not out is, to my mind, cheating. It's the Australian way. Has been for years. Gilchrist's predecessor, Ian Healy, enunciated the rationale perfectly while commentating %u2014 he appealed when he thought the batsman was out, or when he thought the umpire might give it out. That is, he would appeal if knew it was not out but thought the umpire might give it out. As I said, cheating. The heroes of this Australian team say that in cricket you cop the good with the bad. That's exactly what captain Ponting conspicuously failed to do in this Test. In the first innings he was given not out when clearly out. Quite some runs later he was given out when he was not out. Did he cop it? No, he stood and glared at the umpire. He should have been fined for dissent. He should have acknowledged it was an easy mistake to make, given the bat was next to the pad, making the deflection all but imp
I think frnds Racial abusing is v much a part of indian, see serial bidai that women is not getting married beacuse she is dark skin and forget untouchbilty , these things still prevail in india

Vinod:
Though a good point, it's a bit misplaced. By this logic all beauty contests are racial.. :-)
Do we as Indians disown any "RACE"? Do we say Africans are not to be tolerated, or Europeans/Caucasians or Chinese etc..? What you are saying is that there is some preference towards fair skin. But again that's not always true, is it?
Which Indian hates Bipasha Basu? Or Naomi Campbell?
Untouchability is a casteism issue. Shias fight Sunnis, Catholics hate Protestants etc. etc. But that's not being racial.

Vrey true. We see in the marimonial coloumns for the bride --wanted fair, etc. How many ads we watch on T.V. about fairness creams? Many girls are being rejected because they are black. We also abuse each other in the name caste, region and religion. In this message board we see people form north abuse those from south and vice versa. These things still prevail in India. they are nothing less than racial abuse. But when one of our cricket cplayers is booked for racial abuse we become united and demand justice for him. This shows that we can forget our differences whenever situations arise. Why can't we practice it every day instead of once in a while or when the situation demands?
These are new rules to be implemented by ICC in the forth coming test series played in Australia...
(1) Ricky Ponting %u2013 (THE TRULY GENUINE CRICKETER OF THE CRICKET ERA AND WHOSE INTEGRITY SHOULD NOT BE DOUBTED ) should be considered as the FOURTH UMPIRE. As per the new rules, FOURTH UMPIRE decision is final and will over ride any decisions taken by any other umpires. ON-FIELD umpires can seek the assistance of RICKY PONTING even if he is not on the field. This rule is to be made, so that every team should understand the importance of the FOURTH UMPIRE .
(2) While AUSTRALIAN TEAM is bowling, If the ball flies anywhere close to the AUSTRALIAN FIELDER(WITHIN 5 metre distance), the batsman is to be considered OUT irrelevant of whether the catch was taken cleanly or grassed. Any decision for further clarification should be seeked from the FOURTH UMPIRE. This is made to ensure that the cricket is played with SPORTIVE SPIRIT by all the teams.
(3) While BATTING, AUSTRALIAN players will wait for the ON-FIELD UMPIRE decisions only (even if the catch goes to the FIFTH SLIP as the ball might not have touched the bat). Each AUSTRALIAN batsman has to be out FOUR TIMES (minimum) before he can return to the pavilion. In case of THE CRICKETER WITH INTEGRITY, this can be higher.
(4) UMPIRES should consider a huge bonus if an AUSTRALIAN player scores a century. Any wrong decisions can be ignored as they will be paid huge bonus and will receive the backing of the

This same message was posted by Mr. Nand yesterday in this forum. Are you Mr. Nand with a different ID ?
In this major dispute two persons largely responsible for the present scenario who could have diluted the whole situation are in the background. First one is Bret Lee who had no problems in Bhajji tapping him; where is he what are his reactions? second in this melee we have totally forgotten Yuvraj Singh. Even after Dravid was given out in a bad umpiring decision, Yuvi didnt play even for a few overs. He had to just hang on there and ensure a draw. But he was out first ball. Had he played at least few overs and match drawn maybe the wrong done by M./s Steve and Mark may not have hurt us so badly.

Dont Blame YUVI... he was busy in Most Imp Work with Deepika...how can he devote time for team and nation?

Oh man did u forget that Deepika was alone in the stance... He did the right thing that he went in first ball else Someone would have had her... For Yuvi saving the test was the last priority...

After watching the test match, someone has written some rules have to be incorporated by ICC to give the other teams a perfect clarification (1) Ricky Ponting - (THE TRULY GENUINE CRICKETER OF THE CRICKET ERA AND WHOSE INTEGRITY SHOULD NOT BE DOUBTED ) should be considered as the FOURTH UMPIRE . As per the new rules, FOURTH UMPIRE decision is final and will over ride any decisions taken by any other umpires. australians think they are high on the planet. see if umpire gives no ball they check it and argue with them. if given not out for their apeal they laugh at umpire. some times attack with war of wards to porticalur player if given not out . [ see ricky to Dhoni ]
Sehwag Dravid VVS Tendua Gangu Kartik/Dhoni (I think they should go with Kartik in Perth but I know they will go with Dhoni) Pathan (since Bhajji must play and India should have 3 pacers....Yuvi is anyway busy with Deepika) Kumble Bhajji (must for Ponting) RP Ishant (give him one more chance in (perth)--try the other right hand bowler in next test if Ishant fails here.

don't u think that if Ishant deserves 1 more expo than even we must try out Yuvraj atleast 1 more go considering the form he has shown recently , moreover I do not think Bhajji should be included in the final 11 as the perth wicket is a pacer freindly wicket & if at all we require 1 more spinner in the final innigs than we can use sehwag .

I agree with this team except that i think VRV singh replaces Ishant (MUST, as Ishant confidence is low,you could see it when after not doing any thing with ball, he got out last on a very simple ball, though he claimed to bat also). and Karthik would be better now,Australian know how to beat Dhoni. 5 bowlers and 6 batsman will be best, as perth pitch expecs helping Bowlers.

Match will be over in 3 days at Perth. We have no talent to cope up with bouncy/pacy wkts.
