India is the main land of Racism
by Sumit on Jan 09, 2008 03:37 PM  | Hide replies

Everyone writing here a lot about racism, skin color and arrogant Aussies etc. Please remember one thing India is the main land of racism and regionalism. An Indian do not like an other Indian, if he is from an another state. Especially the North Indians do not like South Indians at all. Always Northies says that Southies are black and bad peoples. They call them Madrassi, Mallu etc. For example when Sreesanth started to bowl in Indian side, all the Northies was calling him Mallu monkey and never appreciate him for his superb contributions during England, SA tours and T-20 World Cup. So please understand the skin color, racism and all the ugly things are among the Indians than any one else in this world. Especially the Northies are stinks and always talk about their skin color and majorities. Shame you peoples who are crying and abusing Aussies for their nature.

I'm absolutely disgusted with pictures of Australian Flags being burned in India.

The flag represents more than a cricket team!
any symphaty I have for this Indian team goes out in the bin.

We have been receiving end in all the last 3 series we played in ur country.... the 'neutral' umpires always make mistakes against visiting team ay crutial juncture of match & ur bowlers alwayz ur cheap tactics of abusing opposition player's family time n again.... U FOOLED ME ONCE SHAME ON U, U FOOLED ME TWICE SHAME ON ME...

I agree.Burning the Australian flag is far more serious than any dispute about a cricket match. Its a shame and as an Indian I condemn it.Dear fellow Indians, please dont forget, there is a lot of support for the Indian team in Oz and that includes white australians too.Now everybody just back off and let the bitterness go.

Yes 'fair and lovely' skin whitener cream is popular in India. We forget that black is beautiful.

Why are they in Canberra?
by Charlie Schembri on Jan 09, 2008 03:07 PM  | Hide replies

Why are India playing in canberra? Shouldn't they be in Perth getting acclimatised to the fast paced pitches of western australia? it seems like an opportunity is being lost. Canberra is on the other side of the continent ( much like the distance between L.A and New York in America) the pitch in Canberra is very seldon used for internationals. A warm up match against the W.A state squad would have been ideal. It seems like a very strange itinerary for this tour i.e only one lead up match against VIC -which was washed out.

FYI, Manuka Oval is one of the best pitches in the country. You don't lose playing at Manuka (and I'm not from Canberra).
Dude, why give a sucker a legup. Thats why in the good old days, Perth was first. No acclimatising on the fastest pitch in the world. Worked well until a certain Malcolm Marshall turned up on our shores but thats another story. Should work a treat against these guys...

I was watching year 8 students playing on Manuka in March of last year. Didn't know it was an international class pitch. Just seems a silly place to play when they are half way through the series. I reckon that Windies team would have given us a hiding today-has there ever been a better bowling line-up than roberts, marshall, ambrose etc?

Been a while since I played there but it was as true as with a little bit for everyone. Ground itself is a bit hokey but you can't fault the pitch. It is silly when your going to Perth, but I'm curious whose in and where is the Indian embassy in Canberra. Sounds like a driveby to me.
Roberts was exceptionally good. Holding was too. Marshall in my view was the best of them. I've never seen anyone destroy a batting lineup like Marshall in Perth (84 I think). Ambrose I always felt was good but more because of his physicality, same as Garner. Bowling wise, they would kick us but batting and fielding I'd say we had the edge. Would depend on the pitch.

Well guys, Perth has gotten lot slower these days ...but still Indians will have to put their best foot forward ... err backward (for backfoot play) in this match. BCCI has got it all wrong right from the time they planned the itinerary (I heard Harsha Bhogle tell in Sep/Oct about the poor planning of the Indian board!). All said and done, Syndey is a test that all would like to forget ... pity that has to be the case despite amazing innings by Laxman and Tendulkar!

Youre the man.BCCI is run by corrupt money hungry guys who know two figs about acclimatisation and scheduling. How about applying for a consultants job with BCCI;-)

Our sources in NewZealand confirmed that Billy bowden was very happy and was found surfing net. He exploited google for searching Aussie team players family photos. He agreed that he had a chat with Ponting over phone. But said it was nothing official it was personal. Our sources told that Ponting got angry over the use of his famous hook gesture for signalling out, But Billy Bowden told this time he would use it for the opposite purpose.
