by Himanshu on Jan 10, 2008 11:14 AM  | Hide replies

Every thing austrailian does on filed is forgiven wheter they give bad words or they misbehave with one team. they are not been fined Why only because they are WORLD Campions
Bull Sheet they win buy cheat not by game sprit. They misbehave on field so other takes wrong steps. in Cricket field only one Captain was King i.e. ( S.A ) Captian. but he is no more alive.

You speak like a shyster lawyer, Kerry Hadley.
A closer look at the list will show you that these, for the most part, are minor misdemeanours. In one instance, Mike Denness cited 5 Indians, when it was South Africans who deserved a reprimand. Jagmohan Dalmiya, who was the ICC head at the time, saw to it that this
one-sided gentleman was never called to do duty again.

I know not all papers are representative of the paper whose report you have cited. But there are enough "tawdry fleet-street whores" who are working to undermine the Indian cricket team. To wit, the report of caste differences and discrimination in the team, or the one that actually 'quoted' the Indian team official, Lalchand Rajput, saying, "Yuvraj has an attitude problem, and I will be talking to him"
The official was mystified as to when he had made such a statement.

Your strenuous, laboured efforts to call black as white do not do you, or Australian sport any credit.

From Don Bradman, to Bobby Simpson, Allan Border, even Kim Hughes, Australian cricket has been served well and creditably. To lump the utterly graceless bunch under Ponting with these peerless cricketers would be to denigrate them.

The Post is continued...

I have chosen to omit Steve Waugh and a certain smooth operator, Richie Benaud, from the list of peerless Aussies. You, Kerry Hadley,
and Mick, have gone so far down the road in defending the indefensible, that you cannot afford to look back at the heroes of Australian
sport: Rod Laver, Tony Roche, John Newcombe, Ken Rosewall, Evonne Goolangong, Margaret Court, Martin Snell (I don't know if I have the name, of the man who was called 'human rabbit', right)Shane Gould, Dr. Ric Charlesworth...all gems of world sport.

I don't know if you realise, in 'owning' Ricky Ponting and his team, you are actually disowning
the best that Australian sport has offered to the world.

Word integrity is good but not when it comes from a man who does not know the value of this word........
by shobana nair on Jan 10, 2008 10:35 AM

Pointing has to admit he as turned arrogant through the years as his success has gone to his head and he cannot think straight now.He sure needs a counselling for his and teams benifit. It happens to many but it is not the right way to go so has to be corrected in time....

Pathetic journalism
by eric on Jan 10, 2008 10:26 AM  | Hide replies

He has complete control of the ball before, and after it touched the ground. Its like saying when you catch a ball and throw it up to celebrate the batsman is not out because the ball lands on the ground.
He caught the ball. FFS.

OOh! So loyal to aussies.....Dear its not about that catch only. it is the reaction for entire 2 test match. First of all even though He had knicked the ball of Ganguly he didn't talk at all infact he was looking at umpire in such a way as if he didn't knick it, above all he have seen the entire drama of ricky and his team mates when they were on pakistan tour. world is not fool ok! We'r hearing the criticism for aus. team around the globe. Even Lawson had criticised Aus. and Ricky ponting badly. Even your own country people(Roebuck) are demanding to sack ricky .....just think about it!

Mr No name!
When everybody does it why then have a match refree at all? Why does mr ponting has an holier that thou attitude? I do not agree to all that expressed by my fellow Indians, which no doubt is a bit too much and naive in the extreme ( you need not react to rubbish like that) .But, neither can i accept the statements of Mike Proctor , whose decision, he being a citizen of the hated apartheid regime talking about racism and his unfair judgement by any legal yardstick nor Mr. ponting about his integrity, when his claims are negated by the TV repalys clearly( i am not talking about the catch he took at all)when he forced benson to give Ganguly out. Fact mate is the Aussie behaviour on field and off it in the last 3 decades has been horrendous & and can aptly be called boorish!

Ban on Ricky Pointing is best..and Correct solution
by on Jan 10, 2008 08:29 AM  | Hide replies

In my view, ICC should suspend Pointing for
1) Clamming catch out for a grassed ball
2) Misguiding the umpire, (Ganguly Out)
3) When he got out in RP Singh bowling as a captain at least he should have courtesy of walking out
4) Symonds was out in the first innings, and it was given as not out, next day Symonds was agreed that he was out, as captain he should make sure that, such things shouldn't repeat in second innings, he failed to do so..
5) He also breach the agreement, which he made with Kumble about playing a fair game
6) This kind incidents happened before, where ICC has banned the team captain for not controlling the team.

Regards
Varma

India should not take a single step backwards in this fight !! Not one !!
by S Chandra on Jan 10, 2008 04:27 AM  | Hide replies

India should stay on the attack in this fight for Harbhajan !!!
They should make it a point that in the absence of any concrete evidence that Harbhajan said the word, it should be inferred that Ponting and Symonds have come up with a false legal charge.

And for that they should be sued for public defamation ! And Harbhajan should be paid the reparations !

India should press charges of defamation on all the 4 players involved, if there is no proof !!

And in case of Hayden, Gilchrist and Clark, they should bring charges of false witness, which is lying under oath.

The penalty for which is imprisonement !

This matter should not rest.

Australia must pay for making false allegations on a representative of India.

Removing Ponting from captaincy is not enough. He should be sacked from playing cricket forever, and in fact, be sent to jail !!

To bring a charge of racism on a player without any proof whatsoever is a serious offence, its a very serious offence.

India should pursue this matter to the end !!!
No backing down !!

Jai Hind !!

you are forgetting this is not a court of law, but a tribunal so the so call legalities you sook about don't apply,.

harbhajan was gound guilty by a tribunal and he cops his penalty end of story.

get the right player clark was not involved, check the spelling you might find it is clarke. there is a difference.

well if you want defamation well all australians should press charges of deramation on this site for allowing defamatory comments.

well then symonds and the australians should sue harbhajan and the Indians for defamation to their characters, can you not see how stupid you are being. India is very quickly losing any respect it may have had in australia by the vitiriolic bile coming out of your mouths. the reputation you have now is being enhanced by this as a bunch or sore losers and whingers who cannot accept responsibilty for its own actions.

time to grow up guys, and stop having a dummy spit when it don't go your way. put all your enegies in to improving your own teams performace. they lost 10 wickets in 70 overs 6 wickets to part time bowlers. in what should have been a draw. when you get down to the nitty gritty of it. india lost the match itself cannot blame everyone else for it's own failures.

Mind you language this is not "australia" this is world of web you can't use "moron" type of word against any one who is just expressing his/her feelings, and I guess you are the one among those supporters who were claiming those catches which weren't taken completely and was dropped catches. and Let me tell! If Harbhajan is RACIST then who Glen Mcg. also because he also said jaysuriya "black monkey" in 1996. Remember!

Ponting's appeal & Integrity
by Venkataraman Venkatasubramanian on Jan 10, 2008 01:00 AM

Well done Procter. When Indians appeal for a legitimate catch in SA tour in 2001 almost half of the team was banned and Ganguly was given a match ban as a captain not controlling the team. This picture (great job who ever has taken this remarkable photo) clearly shows the integrity of ponting and also the match refree has closed his eyes and let off this great team of this century. Carry on ICC refrees against the Asian Sub Continent teams. But remember without these teams, you dont have a job and pay there at MCC/Dubai.
