PONTING THE BAD BOY
by damodaran mohan on Jan 16, 2008 09:15 PM

PONTING has been totally exposed as far as his bad and unsporting behaviour umpteen times. further, there is lot of anger among Indians against PONTING, SYMONDS AND MICHEL CLARK. BCCI should seriously consider not to offer these three Aussie cricketers the IPL contract atleast for the year 2008.

now did you actualy see the catch before the pic. because the pic doesn't show the whole story there, ponting had complete control of the ball before he landed. commentators at the time said that they had seen similar catches given. but it was not given. now all teams have done similar claimed for catches which they didn't actualy take. Dhoni has that distinction. dravid has the distinction of rubbing a lolly over a ball to alter it. ball tampering far more serrious charge. tendulkar has been charged with ball tampering. it is up to the umpire to decide these things not from rabid supporters who cannot see anything. now while that photo don't look good but cheating no. take the passion away and can you honestly say that no team has not done the same. India has. harbhajan failling to leave the crease when was bowled by pietersen and obscenly told peitersen to F off. would you call that cheating. see no team can say they have not done that or similar. this isn't a child's game you are playing both sides are playing to win and the stakes and reputations are high. there are no prizes for second.

"I strongly beleive sports are for entertainment and not a life-and-death issues."
Now if you believe that then why the vitriol. India played to win like any other team, you claimed they played it fairly, I think time wasting is also cheating. claiming of catches India itself has been guilty of that one also, but all said and done I have seen kumble appeal outrageously for decisions where he knew they where not out. all the side have done this. but you have failed to note that ponting gave dravid a lifeline earlier by not claiming a catch saying he wasn't 100% sure, but that has been conveniently forgotten.

Now seeing that the 3rd test is on. there is two sussed decisions that have gone india's way and is anyone squealling the house down. no. Tendulkar was given not out to an lbw decision, but evened itself out eventualy and given out. dravid clearly was as plumb as you could get given not out. so he is the lucky recipient of a bad decision. it all evens it self out, now y0u would say it's karma. Dravid is also the one that likes to wipe lollies over balls to alter in the favour of the bowling team, now wouldn't you call that cheating. Ganguly also has been the reciepent of a bad decision that went into his favour, clearly out not given first test. called swings and roundabouts. the picture above doesn't tell the complete picture so gives a false impression. you are happily taking decisions on your side when you know that you really shouldn't have got. isn

so Did I and I saw some over appealling by both teams and umpire intimidation by teams also. saw also some time wasting and saw some disent.

the umpiring was woeful no one disputes that but it was woeful for the australians as well, while india got some poor decisions but that happens, happens to all teams not just india. but that alone is not the australian's fault they didn't choose the umpires, the ICC did.

but you take the bad with the good. move on and play a little better.

but put all the rubbish that went on asside and you would find it was a thrilling game which no one had won until the last hours of the game. India had a chance of either putting that away or drawing it, but their own performance lost them that game. to lose 3 for 5 in the last over instead of a draw wasn't good, kumble should have tried to keep the strike so the last 3 didn't have to face the strike.

Ponting is leading a bunch of wild dogs. He has converted a good bunch of Aussie players into barking dogs. I dont say this...your media says.
Now stop advocating much...we know who is who!
The problem is these umpires are afraid of dog-bites and mostly Mike Procter is a racist who knows how to take action against asians. Andrew Symonds really behaves like what he has been (if at all) refered to!

Mike Procter & Ponting are close friends...mmm now I have serious doubts!

I think Mr Proctor should be charged with Racism. Once, he find Pakistan Captain Latif guilty of claiming a dropped catch and bans for 5 ODI and here he lets off Ponting and Michael Clark scot free.
Then he believes in aus players and say thats the truth and ignores Indian players
I am not sure if thats called racism or hypocrisy or something else

how is this racism, you don't understand the term racism.

Latiff actualy dropped the ball twice then picked it up and claimed the catch, so proctor had no option but to ban him. which is the very thing you want the aussies charged with, a bit of a double standard here. if latiff wasn't a sub continent player you all would be saying he got what he deserved. it is more like reverse racism here and you are suffering from it.

ponting and clarke where not charged with anything so how can they be banned. Idiotic remark.

it was the australian players that heard the remark not the indians seeing how sachin was down the other end of the pitch, gee I know he is a good cricketer but he doesn't have a bionic ear.

you are accusing australia and umpires of double standards but you have the same affliction.

while you are lambasting the aussies from this that and the other you forget that your side is no better. are actualy the most misbehaved side next to pakistan. 43 reports. please explain.

no aussies never changed the game actually it was changed by the english when they introduced bodyline. and I also seem to remember asian sides charging the umpire demanding wickets by intimidation so who is the thug there.

all teams indulge in pushing the limits as far as they can. India is no different.

there are lot of people here who think that latiff is a saint. but the point of bringing up latiff is to say that no team is saintly.

Why are you trying to defend Australia? Looks like you are no different then any other Aussie who whines like a child when given out.
Can't you see that incompetent (or corrupt) Bucknor gave 8:1 decision against India?
In fact India took 30 Aussie wicket i.e 10 more, i.e. Australia played three innings while India played only two.

to sam. umpires are selected from neutral countries. so blame the ICC. as far as whining, a lot of you guys are crying and whining about how done in you where. no comment when tendulkar was plimb LBW on 30 and given not out. and went on to make 154 and yet sook about symonds who went on to make 162 if you where to take both scores off the tally of the first innings India would not been in any position of saying whether they would have won it not. umpiring was bad but not the australians fault at all.

you don't know much about cricket do you or you would not have made that ridiculous comment of 30 aussie wickets, nor the three innings, cricket only has 2 innings each in a test. india lost 20 wickets australia lost 17 dont' make 30 to me, unless you look through coloured glasses. when you can see things rationally maybe then you should follow cricket if you do at all.

misbehaviour India is the most misbehaved cricket side in the whole cricket playing nations. 43 offenses top of the list. so I guess you could say you are winning something even if it noteriety.

I think aussies were so confident about the onse sided decision making of the umpires that even after giving a catch to slips, Clarke stood there to try his luck...and who would forget Adam Gilchrist's full-on appeal for a caught behind against Dravid when the ball & bat had 2-3 inches gap. Geoff Boycotts mum could have driven a car through it.

I am sure Aussies know so much about cricket they don't mind manipulating it for their advantage. The batsmen won't be sure about an LBW decision (Sachin's case you mentioned), but they sure must know if they knicked the ball (Symonds, two times). And if you can not understand this, I understand how much you know about the game. And Indians do not need behaviour lessons, not least from Aussies, who are branded rogues on cricket field. They changed cricket from a gentleman's game to a thug's game. If your media is not highlighting the problems, you can surf internet to get an idea of how reputed Australia is in terms of behaviour. And, yes, what Aussies do on field most of the times is not illegal, but it is immoral. Got it, friend?

So stupid of u.. Sachin being not given LBW by umpire..LBW decisions can surely be a bit the wrong way as there is no surety to batsman or umpire to make it out, but droping a catch (you surely know it that u have dropped it) and claiming it is waht sort of cricketing spirit, also staying on the crease when you know you have nicked the ball which has gone to fielders hands is simply called Cheating..!!

Where is Bradman's legacy?
by on Jan 14, 2008 09:03 AM  | Hide replies

I was a big fan of Australia after seeing the TV series of Body line. And have great respect for Bradman. It was not winning that counted but playing morally and honestly.
I guess I stand corrected now. The same country that produced such a great person(?) can loose its sight and can get desparate to win. And they are firing on all cylinders to cover they behind. Picking on Harbajjan. (Attack is the best defense) Come one Australia, wake up. Are there no sportmen/women left in your country? Are you not ashamed to be lead by guy who sold his soul to the devil. And talk about playing per the book and doing nothing wrong.
Shame on Australian team!!!

But at least Steve Waugh did not try to preach gentalmanly sportmanship and pretend and be Holier than Thou....

Ricky Ponting is one of the most unsaoury characters and worse representatives for world cricket....Coz he speaks words like "Integrity" while his behaviour does not have even an ounce of Integrity in it.....He clearly grounds catches and then openly lies that he'd cought it cleanly....Wat a hypocrite!!

harbhajan's remaing at the crease when clearly been bowled by pietersen and the tells KP to F**K off. yes savory practices, I guess Indian fans have only one view at that is not a fair view, take off your blinkers and then you may see that all teams have history in unsavory practices, only australia don't have ball tampering to their names. even god like tendulkar has some history. even if he is a great batsman he also is no bradman. India will do anything to win, seeing how India's runins with the ICC are a total of 43 to australia's 25. when ganguly's tally is 12 to pontings 6. but then you will all deny and play the victim. to which the rest of the world is mighty sick of.

There was a tamil movie where the villain begs evrybody to be punished. I think the best way to punish Ricky and company is not to punish! When they come to Inida (or even now) if all the scribes do not report on anything that the Australians say 9totally ignoring them) and nothing other than the score card, what a powerful pusnishment it will be.
