Mr. Sunil Gavaskar...please Wake Up
by trishul sinha on Jan 07, 2008 09:49 PM

Mr. Gavaskar,

Why is it that all your temper is inside the commentary box and not when you are in the Borad of ICC selecting umpires. You know it well that Mr. Bucknor has given such decisons many times previously and still he has been persisted. I hope you still have conscience left or has it been overshadowed by hunger of money and power.

Answer, explain ... don't imagine you can command, punish and flay without reason. This WILL NOT a lynching of Harbhajan .. we won't allow it to be. And in the future, we expect tough action to be taken against the Australian team, who have been known offenders on many occasions, and gotten away with it scot free. We WILL be appealing against them, and we will have ACTUAL proof. Not just the word of one person against another. We will also appeal against obviously biased or inept umpires.

So I ask you very respectfully ... PLEASE EXPLAIN! You owe us this. You owe us at the very least, an explanation.

Sincerely

White man's word
by Rohit Kulkarni on Jan 07, 2008 09:31 PM

No evidence against Harbhajan, on-field umpires say they didn't hear anything offensive...so finally it was our word against theirs...however the colonial mindset still exists..A while man's word in enough to prove you guilty

My message to the ICC which was marked as
by KR on Jan 07, 2008 09:30 PM  | Hide replies

SINCE I COULD NOT SEND IT TO THE ICC, I POST IT HERE .. THOUGH I WISH I COULD SEND IT TO THE PEOPLE WHO REALLY NEED TO HEAR THIS!

To the ICC ...

I am concerned on a few points points:

1. Why was Harbhajan banned when there was no real evidence?
2. If there is evidence, where is the evidence? I don't mean "he said, she said" .. I mean EVIDENCE?
3. Is "monkey" a racist slur? If your answer is "yes", please explain and provide reasons as to why.
4. A fact: "Monkey" is NOT a racist slur in India. One of our Gods (Hanuman) is known as as the "Monkey God". So are we infact being racist against our own God?
5. Why does the word of an Australian player carry more weight than that of an Indian player?
If it does then is that not racism?
6. Why is an obviously unfit umpire being used in this game? Specially when the umpire has a history of making bad decisions especially against India.

If Harbhajan in fact did call anyone a "monkey", and you deem it a racist slur, we will accept this .. but not without proof. You have stump mikes, you have cameras .. this isn't rocket science! We aren't asking for something impossible. You must have atleast a shred of evidence .. then show it. If you don't, then apologize and recompense BCCI, India, Indian cricket fans and Harbhajan for this unfair treatment.

You sirs are stacking the chips against us. You will find that we will NOT take it lying down.

Tell Indian companies not to put money in the pockets of Pointing and Company.

Dont invite these jerks to the Indian cricket league or the BCCI run Indian premier league.
