LATEST NEWS!! Steve Bucknor no more...
by Sudipto Ghosh on Jan 08, 2008 06:13 AM  | Hide replies

News is coming that umpire Bucknor met with a tragic road accident and is no more.
Police sources say that he was out walking his dog when a road-roller at 10 kmph came from the front and ran over him. It appears that due to his poor eyesight and hearing did not realise that the vehicle was approaching.
Reliable sources from ICC and ACB have said that they have decided to mummify Mr.Bucknor's body and preserve it and put it on a stand and will be made to officiate all subsequent matches involving Australia.
When asked about how Mr.Bucknor would signal his decisions, ACB replied that Ponting has kindly agreed to do so for him as Ricky has had good practice doing so in the recently concluded Sydney Test.

Rajnikath better than ICC
by tamil troublers on Jan 08, 2008 12:43 AM

-->sorry to interrupt. Just one question? How did symonds felt he was racially abused? Symonds is half black and half white.. mix breed who was born in england to white mother and black father and migrated to Australia after playing major junior cricket in england. Racism is saying something against a particular race like white, black, hispanic, orientals, red indiann etc? symonds is mix breed.

-->First and formost, any racial words against any race cannot be directed to symonds as he is mixed one. Second, is monkey a race or animal? ICC stated that, any expression or word that causes hurt to religion, skin, colour, country, race, origin and relation will be termed as violation of rule. But nowwhere it is mentioned that, monkey comes under any racial slur.

-->Last, but not least. ICC and Australia does not have any proof and still they banned bhajji and termed as racial remark? you mean intelligent ICC termed monkey as a race. That means Rajnikanth movies makes more sense than ICC verdict.. BEST is BOYCOTT THIS TOUR, MUMBAI MARATHI LOBY IS ONLY CONCERED WITH POWER AND POLITICS.

Join ICL

Ye BCCIwaale apne baap ke sagge nahi he. All they are concerned is the money they can pocket from this series. Leave nation's pride they are not bothered about the player's or worse even their own pride. I'm sure after all this brave face they will meekly ask Kumble & Co. to play the remaining matches. I feel Kumble and his men should be ready for this. Actually they use this an opportunity to thrash the Aussies and reclaim our country's pride on the field. Or better go and join ICL.

Bhajji's bunny
by ramaniv on Jan 07, 2008 11:45 PM

Well done Mr Ponting, this is probably your best answer to being Bhajji's bunny during most of this test series and the previous ones (7 out of 8 now). Good way to take him off the bowling, you are free to score your centuries now.

Also why the spinners, Murali first, Bhajji now, maybe the Aussie thinktank works overtime to counteract the spin threats the Asian teams pose before them, in the wierdest of ways too. Is all this part of your 'play cricket hard' strategy too?

Indian team, which held a closed-door meeting

Tour doubt, Indians put up Shutters
Peter Lalor
THE Indian cricket tour was in crisis last night after the team suspended its scheduled departure for Canberra over controversial spinner Harbhajan Singh's conviction for racially sledging Australia's Andrew Symonds in the controversy-marred second Test.

Harbhajan Singh gets off the bus and returns to the hotel. With fears mounting that the tour could be in jeopardy, Cricket Australia chairman Creagh O'Connor was last night desperately trying to contact Board of Control for Cricket in India boss Sharad Pawar in New Delhi in a bid to organise talks to ensure the tour continues.

Harbhajan was found guilty of calling Symonds a monkey in a code-of-conduct hearing early yesterday morning and was suspended for three Tests.

The decision incensed the Indian team, which held a closed-door meeting at which several players were understood to have argued that the Perth and Adelaide Tests should be abandoned.

No members of management or coaches were invited to the meeting.

The Indian players called the BCCI, demanding it support them in an appeal over the conviction and refused to leave the hotel until they heard back from India.

The team waited while the BCCI called an emergency meeting in New Delhi but had to fly one board member in from Mumbai.

The Indian players initially boarded the bus for the trip to Canberra, where they are due to play a tour match on Thursday, and remained aboard for two hours. After a

Perth test

I suggest we go out and play like we always do. Why should we stoop to their level?

Play like civilized people, act courteous, show the other cheek. Bucknor will be the umpire. Sure. Let him and do not appeal excessively. Dont complain about abusive Australians. If they are going to be animals, why bark at them.

Very Gandhian. Even gandhi however, pointed out that his way works when there is a bond between the oppressor and the oppressed. No such bond exists. The record books will show that Symmonds scored 164 runs, not that he was given three lives byt he umpires. If the umpiring is that bad why bother playing? We should just concede the test series and stay home. At least it will avoid a farce and save on the plane tickets. On top of that boycotting a test series has the salutary effect of hitting both Indian and Australian Cricket Board in the pocket book. Then and only then can we have a level playing field. It is hypocritical of the Aussies to complain about sledging when they invented it. If racial sledging is bad, why is casting doubt on people's ancestry OK. Sledging is a piece of shit and saying this piece of shit is better or worse than the next one is ludicrous.
