IPL has signed up all the great talents. English county cricket is a minor league compared to star studded IPL.

The ECB is doing a good thing
It is maintaining the tradition of their
national summer sport
They do have foreign players in their county teams for their domestic cricket, but it is far more limited, compared to IPL

What a way of distributing money to the international public? This is not at all a good precedent for any good reason. BCCI is already richest, in fact its numbers are astronomical. Unless for the vested interest of the greed of becoming even richer and commercializing the sport, there is no other good reason. I have been watching cricket for the last 2 decades and there are many sporting heroes who toiled so that the sport is popular and is in a state that it is now. Now all these budding youngsters are reaping that popularity benefits. Ideally BCCI should spend that money on increasing the pensions to all those unsung heroes and spend on improving the quality of the sport and the players by putting more money on developing grounds etc. But instead it is quandering all the money like this. But of course who to blame if a non -cricketer and a wily politician is at the top of the honors dictacting terms like this. It is really disheartening to see that all the great players being discredited like this by being bid lesser than even new entrants. This insanity should stop some where. It only reminds me of one adage "Apatra daan" or in english Unqualified Donation. Please share your thoughts ,you like minded folks out there.

IPL bades good for India...

International attention is now on India because of this league...

There is bound to be more money... the contending point would be that part of BCCI funds should also contribute to other spheres of sports or otherwise...
