sharad pawar has only one goal in life to make money, by any means. Is he not liable to vacate one of his two positions i.e. the minister of agriculture and the cheif of BCCI??
Does not he aware of the suicides of farmers and the conditions they are living in?? Agriculture is always the India's main resource and this guy is heading that dept!!!! While auctioning the cricket legends, could he be asked to atleat take away 10% of the bidding price for these poor farmers who are anyway on the verge of bankruptcy, since it his duty to generate money for the BCCI(and himself) it is his equal responsinility to take care of the farmers.

Well said. It is ironical in India, that on one hand we have farmer suicides, on the other we have people making millions. At the same person is managing both the lots !!!!

Spot on. But the social conscious in our cricketers & the administrators - whether Pawar or Dalmiya or Bindra, is dead & buried. Our hopelessly overpaid cricketers should feel ashamed that a Australian Steve Waugh financially supports "udayan" in Kolkatta

How can he take away money from BCCI? It is foolish thinking. Are you going to contribute for farmers cause come on . Because you have authority to take money from your pocket. I will also conyribute. But BCCI is governed by their consttution.
Pawar has brought lot of money to BCCI . Previous BCCI chief was more corrupy so the money from ad, TV and cotracts was not going to BCCI but siphoned off somewhere else. Now for the same cotracts BCCI is earnig four times more money. So before Pawar 75% money was siphoned off.

"coz buying villages will give them neither the publicity nor generate revenues for them. At the end of the day it is sheer oppurtunism backed commercial venture for all of them... lest you were thinking that all this biggies are into this for love of cricket or mere indulgence.

Shoib won't play half the match,Ponting & Gail won't be available for full season, god help agarkar, no spinner - a very weak bowling side. Moreover, many players are not ideal for 20-20 eg Ganguly,Ponting,Shoib. In any case it will be more circus than cricket

Disgusting exhibition of money
by R L on Feb 20, 2008 05:45 PM  | Hide replies

It is indeed a very sad day for a country like India where lakhs of children have forgotten what childhood is under the yoke of child labour that millions of dollars are being showered on jocks ! I appeal to all citizens to boycott this naked exhibition of wealth & power under the guise of sports. Please we are not US yet , whose less previleged citizens are taken care of, to put this kind of money on a mere sport. Wake up India... our priorities are different. And they should be giving all of us nightmares.

Certainly the writing is on the wall.Cricket no longer exists as a game of Gentlemen. It has become a BDG(BISINESS DEVELOPEMENT GAME)if not in other countries, certainly in India.
