These guys are all useless..
by YoBro on Jan 05, 2009 07:05 AM  | Hide replies

...we should tap players very young for national team from school or district level - take a look at SRT and they way he was inducted for the Pak tour (in Pak vs Imran, Akram, Waqar and co. at 16!!) - that's the reason for his continuous success. Playing Ranji doesn't qualify you one bit for Test cricket - it just makes you get used to mediocracy.
Having said that, with all the moneys being pumped in, things might change and make Ranji performances more credible.

Jaffer is a Domastic Run Machine which has been regularly failed in International Cricket. Its time for us to look beyond him. Rahane and Pujara are young and in their early 20s. They are the future. A Mukund, M Vijay, S Badrinath, RA Jadeja, T Shrivastava, R Bhatia, N Patel, A Nayyer, R Sharma, H Khadiwale, N Paradkar, etc are the players to look out for. It's nice to have so many options available. Now we really have a bench strength.

He should be included in the Indian team at the expence of Mr. Tendulkar. We had enough of him. BCCI should act fast. Don't kill a real talent.

You can make your statement without being abusive. There is no denying the fact that players like Pujara and Tanmay Srivastava have brought their under-19 exploits to the first class level. Who is to say if they will or won't transfer that at the international level. Don't be judgemental and that too without any valid reason. What a dork !

1,2 billion people and have historically lost 38 more test matches than won in their only sport, cricket which is played by 10 nations inc ind(all these nations bar oz and eng are a sporting joke)
then nothing of note in other sports
vishwanathan anand in chess- ha ha, chess is a board game, not a sport
paes, bhupathi in doubles-ha ha they are both born loosers, doubles is useless, only singles matters and mahesh has never been in top 200, paes never have been in top 50 ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
forget about 10, no indian has ever been globally popular
nothing in motorsport, golf, athletics, swimming, rugby, football and on and on and on and on
i am not coming back ever to read anything on this discussion.i have not read any posts.

Mumbai Run Machines
by hari ray on Jan 01, 2009 03:11 AM  | Hide replies

Since Sachin, all mumbai players are bekar as has been proved time and again. From Kambli, Nilesh Kulkarni, Raju Kulkarni, Kanitkar (though from MH and not from Mumbai), Samir Dighe, Bahutule, and Wassim Jaffer - no one has been able to cement his place ...

but i must admit they rock as a group in ranji etc. ... let them rock on in domestic league ...

let m vijay from TN, Pujara from Saurastra, Virat Kohli from Delhi and all other players from non Mumbai places get into the Indian team

You people are jealous of Mumbai...Dont forget Mumbai has won Ranji trophy 37 times...and it is selectors' partiality that doesnt guarantee Mumbai players their birth in the Indian team.. I still feel Wasim Jaffer is better opener than Gautam gambhir Overseas... Ajit Agarkar is anytime better than RP Singh or Irfan Pathan...Rohit Sharma has already proved that he is somebody who can step into Dravid's shoes... Mind you guys.. you will find the fluke MS Dhoni loosing his place from the Indian Team.. no matter if the team wins.. Because the team is winning/will win on its merit and each player's individual contribution.. Not because of a commoner like Dhoni...

Agarkar is better than RP Singh. Whoaaaaaa !!!!. Relax baby and come out from under the rock you have been living under. RP's ODI or Test stats are not even closely comparable with that of Agarkar. In fact, it will be an insult to RP if he is compared with that feather-weight useless bowler called Agarkar. I don't know of any contemporary test strike bowler who has an average of close to 50, except Agarkar of course. I am also not aware of any such bowler who has played close to 200 ODIs and has an economy rate of over 5 rpo. If you know of any one, please enlighten all of us. And for Christ sake, don't try comparing him with anybody either currently playing for India or anyone who is likely to play. You know why ? - Because it will be an insult to such a player. I rest my case.

We are getting young talents like Pujara, Virat Kohli, Vijay, Badri and Ranade to replace verans like Sachin, VVS and Dravid. That is a good sign and hope they get chance.Already Gambir and Raina are maturing to be stable players.
