7 layer security for Cricket match which no one wants to watch anyway
by Shankar Kumar on Dec 07, 2008 01:02 PM  | Hide replies

Seven layer security for Cricket match which no one wants to watch anyway-Sickening to watch Chennai Police commissioner giving interview regarding 7 layer security. He spent a whole day reviewing cricket security with ECB expert while state was under threat of floods and protest march of 06 Dec by Muslim organization.
No where in India Muslims demonstrated with force as in Tamilnadu .They stopped train.Police in turn arrested RSS workers who demonstrated against Mumbai massacre.

English team has requested for full fledged NSG commandos for security in hotel, travel and in the match.BCCI has obliged.
Now BCCI is interested in only its TV rights
At at time when nation is facing crisis of terror we will have over 200 commandos protecting English and Indian team.
Also Dhoni out up tantrums recently as he was not provided Z plus security and was only give Z security.
What Security ordinary Indians have.
Let us make it very clear English team should not get NSG or and Govt Commando force

Going to war with cricket bats!
by Ravi Challam on Dec 07, 2008 12:29 PM

Honestly, it all sounds as if the England team is about to embark on a major war. All this Shakespearean drama of "To come or not to come" is silly and childish. If England is relunctant, then the BCCI should have the balls to say "get lost". But BCCI is showing its colonial mentality by bending backwards to pursuade England to travel, as if the country's future is dependant on the Test series. At the end of the day, money talks and bullshit walks. The players, the commentators and the TV channels have lots to gain by the series while we the genuine cricket fans risk our lives to watch 22 flannelled fools who have never seen a live bullet or experienced the trauma of losing a relative/friend to the terrorist bullets. All this humbug should stop and BCCI should show some self-respect and not just respect for money. This is not about solidarity "in the hour of grief", but plain, simple human greed that will ensure that the tour will proceed as scheduled.
