boycott ipl and bcci
by ganguly dada on Apr 04, 2008 08:11 PM

these guys in the bcci have grown too big for their shoes.the national team is losing.the players are busy promoting their own interests.nobody seems to care what is happening to the indian team.in all this,we the viewers are the most to blame.we simply dont care what the bcci is doing.if the bcci has to be taught some lessons,we the people have to take the lead.i appeal to the people to boycott the bcci and ipl until they get their act together.cheer for the indian team but dont treat these people as heroes.no point watching the ipl matches if the national team is losing.and who cares if shahrukh khan beats ambani's team.the players' loyalties has changed.they seem more interested in obeying thier ipl masters.and the man behind all this(lalit modi) is busy filling his coffers.

Team India looked so confident under the Supervision of Coach Lalchand Rajput, Prasad & Fielding Coach Robin Singh, then why the hell BCCI enthrusing so much trust on Foreign Coaches, who had already demorlisized Team India under Guru Chappal & Now Gay Kisten, what do you think Guys!

correct, lalchand rajput was performing so well.where was the need to change him.gary kirsten could well be sabotaging india's chances.all these foreign coaches are here only to fill their pockets and have a good time.the bcci should be asked, why the coach of a successful team was changed.it seems the bcci officials love licking foreign a..r..se.

unfortunate
by letsgo on Apr 04, 2008 07:33 PM  | Hide replies

It's failure of BCCI that we have not found any good batsman or bowler who can replace the old guys like Sourav, Rahul or Kumble. It's unfortunate that since the emergence of Sourav & Rahul in 1996, we have not got any quality batsman. And we have no replacement for Srinath either. Only money-making without develpoement of standard will produce no good result.

RE:Lucky cricketers !

Selection of team is made on the basis of law of averages. Even if they fail to score in two matches they are selected on the basis of past averages. And then in third match they score a centry and then their palce in team in next three or four matches is cemented. None of our batsmen are consistent excepting a few. Also in selection of bowlers we rely on old spin guards and fail to select new faces or try to experiment youngeters. In our team we have only stars which twinkle at times and are never consistent shining stars. In selection of team the selection committee does favour regionalism (though not possible to prove) and that is why we have often failed. Also showering so much wealth on cricketeers has only helped them to behave arrogantly. A time has come where cricket means earning wealth. This trend is going to let down game Cricket in the very near future.

FIELDING STANDARDS: ICL VS IPL
by damodaran mohan on Apr 04, 2008 07:14 PM  | Hide replies

The mentioning of poor fielding efforts by the Indians is nothing new. Forget the aging seniors, even the youngest of players like RP Singh, Munaf Patel etc. are a sham when it comes to fielding, especially their poor attitude reflected in their fielding efforts. Contrast this with the fielding prowess of the young Indian players playing the INDIAN CRICKET LEAGUE .Why is it there this gulf of difference in the fielding between the two sets of Indian players ? Obviously the Indian team management and coach are not paying the adequate attention the fielding needs and also once selected to the National side the players become slack.

Because the Indian players are already treated "superstars" with very little performance and millions are being offered to them to play the tamasha cricket called IPL T20 which need no special skills. When India loose this test by a record margin in a day or so, hopefully we should see some action. Already SA have shown that the so called prowess of Indian spin is not great at all. In the 3 innings so far, they have scored 500 twice and 331/5. So Indian bowlers including Kumble are no threat at all to the SA. Compare this with Steyn and Morkel who consistently bowl well not in patches like Sreesanth.
