It is not just a tv channels gimmick, it is a money making racket between the participatng telephone companies and the tv channels where the telephone companies share part of the substantial booty.

yes it is a money minting business. and as lata mangeshkar said, when voting decides the result what is the use of having judge panel on the show. it is an open loot of crores riding on sentiments of indian viewers.

He din't had the gutts to bowl the last over. Because of his 3rd over we were almost on the verge of loosing the T20 W.C. Its realy shame on Harbhajan.

He is playing for his place in the team and not for the country.

Hattsoff to J. Sharma.

c'mon guys. give them a break. Dhoni did ask bhajji but bhajji himself backed out as he saw misbah hitting him in the previous over. wisely enough, they decided to give the ball to joginder as gentle medium pace would do the trick. Bhajji has bowled his quota well throughout the tournament, except for that particular over. give them their credit friends

Fanatics !
by george on Sep 29, 2007 11:59 AM  | Hide replies

The public show and the rewards galore were a reminder to us that we are nowhere in cricket. If winning was a routine for India one would not have seen this kind of a tamasha. The show would have been lesser if Pakistan was not in the final. Hatred inspires love !

I dont think we are a non achiever in the game of cricket.... If oyu are taking bout the procession part then iwould like ot tell you that Even the Aussies took to processions in Melbourne and Sydney when they won the WC in 2003/07, and it was attended by 0.8 million australians....They too were showered with prizes in kind, which when valued would hv ranged in millions....WITH regards to the acheivements , I would just say that we have been winning a test (or a series )on every away tour ( including Australia 2004) since 2001. We beat pakistan in pakistan twice ,a feat nvr been done before .. we won our first ever test in SA... England was found begging for mercy in its backyard, Windies were gone with the wind from antigua to barbados...
I also dont believe that hatred inspired love..... had it been the aussies in Final... I think the show would have been of a greater callibre..... winning the cup by beating the best in the biz....and settling the scores(read humiliation at 2k3 WC) in the process.... the joy was overwhelming because we were not hoping for nything from Team India in this T20 WC after its catastopic distaster in WC 07.So when it really won the cup, It was like the rise of the phoenix , giving joy ,and a hope to all Indians to succeed in watever fields they dealt in..

Come back??
by Raam on Sep 29, 2007 11:58 AM  | Hide replies

While Irfan Pathan made a grand come back in TT world cup Harbhajan exhibited the same form what he had at the time of dropping him from the squad. He has the support of Punjab CA through whom he forced his re entry to Team India. Selectors should find a suitable replacement soon. Australians shall mincemeat his bowling. Powar is much better bowler, batsman and fileder than Bhajji.

the person who want to say this things putting islam in middle, i can tell him that film stars have no religion as their so exposed to media, they have to do this thinks to get popular. don't compare a normal human to film star's. like this people spoil the nation by taking the name of a good religion "islam" i can only u can't be good pls change ur thinking. for india no case with hindu or muslim, its a game of unity n they played in unit thats why they win. u r stupid thats 100% sure
