Agarkar is a SHAME
by Tarzan on Sep 28, 2007 02:17 PM  | Hide replies

These short and malnourished bowlers like Agarkar and Joginder Sharma are a shame not just for cricket but for the whole country. Their face speaks of FEAR leave alone any signs of aggression. There should be some levels of physique and fitness to be met for these worms to bowl 'Pace'. They should be banished from Indian team.

They are here to play cricket. Not Weight lifting or boxing where you requires body Builders.thou Agarkar has bowled at the seed of 140 km. in him early days.

Bossey,
Tell that to Australians, SAns and the British first As long as they continue doing this, we need such agression. Agression used here also has a psychologic impact - Infact that's something Indians should take care of. Indian batsmen are scraed to face pace bowlers. Similarly, they try mind games - trying to frustrate the batsmen and bowlers. What Sreesanth does is exactly the same. He's playing the mind game, which the Indians are usually bad at.

Abbe....Thoo Goron ka example de reha hai....In saab Agarkars aur Sharmas ki Goron ke samne phatthi hai....They had 'Attitude' whereas these worms have is only 'fartitude'...You need to be energetic and aggressive to be a pace bowler where as both these Agarkar and Sharma are laggards....Just look at the Khans & Sreesanth who have the big heart & physique of genuine pace bowlers.

Rakesh Sharma, thoo space se cricket dekhta hai kya since your comments lack sense of reality!!!!

Srresanth is poorest example of unnecessary aggression. Kapil Dev never needed such funny agression because he was very talented and he let the ball do the talking instead of filthy getsures like Sreesanth. Sreesanth need to concentrate on his bowling - line, length, swing, cutters and pace.

Right..But the qualities of pace bowling are very much there in these young hearts...Both the Khans, Sreesanth & Singh is going to be our pace battery which will make a huge difference in overseas tours and improve the Indian record!!!

Infrastructure

Once again after winning the inaugral TT WC everything seems to be good for Indian cricket. The basic questions raised after 50-50 WC are left out. Everybody is concerned about the national taem, 3 biggies, youngsters, captaincy etc. but no body is talking about basic building blocks of a national team. The structure of our domestic cricket.

Hoe we would make our domestic cricket more competitive?
How we would raise the level of coaches we have for our domestic teams?
How would we inculcate the culture of athletism in younger players?
How we would raise the level of umpires in our domestic cricket?
Why we can not have more cricket acadamies and upgrade the existing ones?
When we would have prfessional paid selectors for national and domestic teams?
How the condition of pitches being used in domestic cricket be improved.
In my opinion answers to these questions are more important in comparison to discussing the grades of the 40 odd players.

Also, what is BCCI doing to improve the stadiums for the spectators? One saw how the crowd enjoyed in SA and also in WI. Even stadia in Srilanka and Pak are far better and offer an enjoyable experience to spectators. It is pathetic in India. I wonder when our brainless, cricket carzy public will give a kick in the ass to the BCCI by boycotting the matches. Its a 100 times more comfy to sit at home and watch it live, or form groups in hotels and other addas, than to sweat it out under these inhuman conditions in the stadium.....

you are 100% right gourav. Once the loss is engulfed by a win, everything is back to the past. the thing which are all said after WC loss in westindies are
1. Only three ads can be performed by a player.
2. Pay cut for each players and no contract systems.
3.Change in domestic cricket.

And many more, but BCCI hasnt taken any steps to full fill this. Moreover there is no proper coach. When this will be get full filled. Then only we can see a team which will beat any team in the world convincingly.

Why so much money?
by Srinivas Kannan on Sep 28, 2007 07:46 AM  | Hide replies

Cricket in India.....You either be a king or a beggar.........If you are selected for the Indian team, then you are given a five star accomodation, if not schools and hostels and third rated hotels are the accomodation. See what Australia and Sri lanka like countries are doing? How can a country with just a population of hardly 20 million bring out a team that is stunning and consistent, whereas a country with 1000 million people cannot do that. Why should the players be paid so much money? Anyways they will earn this money in endorsements. Spend money to improve cricket infrastructure in the country.Spend the money in villages and towns where poeple cannot afford to even buy a bat. There are so many Tendulkars and Dravids in this country who have the talent but do not have the opportunity to play....spend money on improving the selection process for Ranjhi trophy teams and other state teams......try and groom the players...expose a lot of those players to good cricket grounds and train them......BCCI has more selection committee members than players who they train during the year.....So many things to improve, but still year after year, chairman after chairman, selector after selector just keep following the same procedure followed for ages..... For the passion and money involved in the game in India, we should be world champions for years and years to come. But still we struggle and the dream to be a world class team on a continuing basis will never be a reality..Jaihind.

unfair gradefor VVS
by moozmaze on Sep 28, 2007 06:44 AM  | Hide replies

Its unfair for a senior player like VVS to be placed in GRADE 'B'while DHONI whose much junior is elevated to GRADE'A'alongside the seniors.I feel its too soon for DHONI to be graded to 'A'when compared to the amount and the time others have contributed in the GRADE'A' category.IF Zaheer has been elevated to GRADE'A', then I feel its unfair for VVS who is still in GRADE'B'.Wewill have to see how DHONI performs,if consistently and only then should he have been elevated. His experience as a captain has been there for only one series(Twenty 20)on an international level and i feel its too soon.DHONI'S ACID TEST WILL BE THE AUSTRALIA AND THE PAK SERIES.Things will be much clearer by then if he really worth the grade.Definetly India's win in Twent20 has been a absolute team effort and itwould be unjustifyable if the accolades and incentives are concenterated on Dhoni alone.

Lo kallo baath!!

Dukandari shuru ho gayi. Is ko woh kyu nahi, usko eh kyu hai. Grade A means not old (just about to die) players!! Its the list of best players. Laxman does not deserve Grade Z.
Dhoni is junior but presently captain.
I dont understand how u do dukandari.

its not dukandari rehman, its plain logic.if you say grade A is for dieing players then why is yuvraj and dhoni in so your logic seems illogical. What i meant was Twenty20 win was a team effort and it is unappropriate for dhoni to be put in grade A after one win when I consider a twenty 20 as a team effort.Honestly I feel Dhoni's technique in batting is either hit or miss. His stats in the WC and England have been mediocre and as I said Dhoni's real test is yet to be come.So to be put in GRADE A so soon is too premature and this will prove detrimental for him if he misfires during Australia and Pak series. We shall see then how well you logic of dukandari holds!

i am sure VVS belongs to your state....otherwise you wouldn't have said anything like that.

I am not supporting the way they have done grading but simultaneously I don't understand one-sided comments like yours. Let me ask you this. Why are Harbhajan Singh and Virender Sehwag in Grade B?

Age can not be criteria for grade.

Your one day captain has to be in top grade to commant that respect from 3 biggies and peers like yuvi, bhajji, sehwag.

Laxman himself nad each Laxman fan including myself knows the reason for him being placed in grade B.

I think overall satisfactory selection of players into different grades.
