Our prayers !
by Tom Lutherfield on Sep 25, 2007 01:42 PM  | Hide replies

Poor guys..they played well..particularly Mizbah! But obviously its 1 billion prayers against 100 million so that advantage will always be ours. If you ask me Joginder Sharma is the luckiest player in the worldcup. If Mizbah had decided not to pull that shot Pakistan would have won and Jogi might never be seen ever after. Thankfully Jogi was not Agarkar. Agarkar can win the match for Pakistan on any day

Now dont assume that our prayers had saved the indian team, if thats the case then why didnt we pray in World cup 2007 and let india an early exit. Agree to the fact that Our team played exceptionally and i appreaciate Dhoni for bringing Jogi for the last over instead of bajji, coz Misbah knows that jogi will be a easy target and that costed him the CUP. Hats off to the captancy of Dhoni.

Keep it up and you proved 1 Billion people wrong, coz no one had hopes on your team when you left india for this tournament.

Poor Tom, the match was always on both the sides. Remember had india did not take enough wickets at regular intervals, then misbah's mistake would not have counted much. Any player in such situation would be able to achieve the target of 3 balls 6 to win. Accept that win is a win and India specially had won again pakistan in the first ever T20 world cup. Just enjoy the moment and let us not worry about anything else.

The moment the Pakistan crickets delink religion (any religion for that matter) from cricket, Pakistan will become a super power in Cricket.

Sports and religion are two different stages and it needs different players to play a role.

Paki lost semi by cheeting, Paki always do cheeting by taking unnessary runner and when it comes to imp match. In semi final Vettori pointed out that Paki players are drama company. They should stop playing cricket and join drama company. They can also join laugher challenge. They can just stand there and people will laugh automatically.

Imran nazir again tried to do cheating but Umpire denied because of Vettori comment abt paki drama.

Many thanks to Vettori. Cong to Indian team for winning against a Drama company

India team and Dhoni should be Congradulated for winning the cup without Sachin,Dravid,Sourav and Sehwag (in the final). Also the team did not have a regular Coach and a regular Manager.

It proves that the Coach and Manager only interferes in the natural flow of the players and brings in politics of favorism in the name of strategy.

So Indian team does not need a foreign coach and is happy with what it has.

Two important factors in this Indian victory is that Greg Chappel is nowhere near the pavilion and Agarkar was NOT in the team for the finals. Just imagine what would have happened if Agarkar was bowling the last over the Final!!

THey dont consider Indian Muslims as true Muslims..Remember mohajirs. The middle east islamic countries and bangladesh were supporting Pak. Thats what he was referring to.
The Indian Muslim was rooting for India

Kid..its always a close call between the winner and loser..Australia would have lost the WC in 1999 if they had lost to SA off the last ball..Accept the fact history will spk for the winner.

A win is a win is win. It is always a close call in a game of cricket and the team that wins goes in the books with all the bright colours with new generation to cherish.

And yes it was and effort to win that has led India to a victory and not the anything else...make no doubts about it.

Mistake is what is done once and cannot be repeated again and again.I think SA,Ausralia and Pak teams can tell you better.

The strategy, zeal and never say die attitute of this young team gave us this first ever 20 20 World cup wich will be cherished by our Generation till death in the same way 1983 World Cup is cherished by our elders.

Agarkar always surrenders in the crunch situations. i remember 1999 wc in eng, india in good position against sa who were chasing the target. in the last overs, suddenly lance clusener scoring 3 boundaries against agarkar and match taken away from india. also the crunch situation blunders of agarkar. wi in india last odi of the series of 2004 (!!) wi needed 4 runs of the last over, agarkar bowls full toss to Sarwan who hit it for a boundary to win the match and series for wi.
While Joginder inspite of any intl inexperience bowled critical last overs in semi and final. and seem the results.

Hey ,if it wasnt for Sreeshant, the score made in semi against Australia would have been chased down by Hayden and Gilchrist. You got to view this success as a collective one over a period of 2 weeks. Every one put their hands up and performed in some way when required.
You should point fingers only when somebody sustainly underperforms.
