This proves just one thing --- Competetion is the key to excellence... Maybe the ICL will fail in the long run, but they have at least done one thing... kicked the BCCI out of it's slumber... I hope we'll have more competetion in the future to keep the BCCI awake.

This is what is meant by Indian Crabs, they should have used corporate like ICL (Zee League) to improve their basic infrastructure and hence would have encashed their professionalism and would have worked for better basic infrastructure at grass root levels which is the issue unattended by BCCI, now this why INDIAN CRICKET will never grow ,as this is how they all would get their positions encashed.

Why not Wadekar, Kirmani, Prasanna, Vishwanath etc...
by Arockyam on Sep 13, 2007 06:35 PM  | Hide replies

With due regards to Sunil Gavaskar, Ravi Shashtri, why in every BCCI panel these two gentlemen must be there? Why BCCI could not think beyond these two? Why the greats like Wadekar, Vishwanath, Prasanna, Bedi, Madanlal, Amarnath, Kirmani, Arunlal, Sivaramakrishnan, Shivlal Yadav and others, will always be neglected?

ICL destined to fail
by chaitanya lakkapragada on Sep 13, 2007 06:15 PM  | Hide replies

This spells doom for ICL. Look at the star-studded
lineup IPL has been able to get.For information sake, this league has been in the pipeline for 2 years. ICL's unveiling has only hastened it's launch. Now who will watch uncles playing in ICL. ICL sucks. Great retort from the BCCI. Run by greats like pataudi, ravi, sunny this is gonna take the cricketing world by storm. And it has ICC, member countries' approval. Great job BCCI. I am no BCCI fan but they have got this thing right. Fantastic. Domestic players need not be insecure about their future. At the same time they are eligible for national team selection. ICL has suffered a blow what with mcgrath, warne and fleming opting not to align themselves with ICL. With all cricket boards joining together, ICL will go down the drain just like innumerable domestic tournaments like Moin ud dowla gold cup etccccccccccc.Doom is inevitable for ICL.

Mcgrath,Warne and Fleming are kids or what? You are referring ICL team as uncles? Anyway the ICL entry has changed the things.Hope ICL stays in the competetion and it also represents few players in National Team(No more BCCI Team).

ICL & BCCI
by Ganesh Sethuraman on Sep 13, 2007 06:13 PM

Hi ICL & BCCI

Now the things are getting hot. It is nice development for indian cricket. I feel both of you should sit across table and formalise a format where both of you can compit in a friendly match in india and should pick the best players to play for india.

Do look at this suggestion.

Regards
Ganesh
