i seen couple of thread stating ganguly to be made as captain....it isnt a positive sign...i know he done well for india during his tenure..but that past and history
what we need to look after dravid is young captain with fresh ideas...
within two yrs we are going to witness a fresh indian side

Your dada is also an actual dada (grandfather) now which is being reflected in his fielding & running between the wickets. Its pathetic to watch an International player field the way he does.

Mr. Saurav what is the problem with you?? How can you compare a seasoned campaigner like Dada to a comparatively new comer Karthik?? I thought you knew something about cricket. Next time use your CS okay?
He must look at dada's performances. Our dada is the best batsman as well as best bowler in the team. He is best captain as well. Karthik doesnt have even 10% of the ability of our DADA....Karthik Sucks....Dada rocks...

Just look at the performance of this trio which you are lamenting...... its these three who are performing cinsistantly. Mind you we dont even have that quality replacement to replace this trio.... so before commenting on them think about their contribution... u have every right to say what ever you want to but then dont mis use this right B/w talking of fresh blood what is ur age????????????

Sunil, I don't agree with you completely. I understand the trio played a Vital role here, but how many matches we have won, just 2??? We would have won the series looking at the trio's experience. So, what will happen tomorrow if the trio retire?? Some day or the other, someone would take their place. Then why not now??? Don't u think, playing in English conditions would help some youngsters??? So, u also think of before saying anything

very rightly said Anil. Inspite of being an avid fan of the trio, i feel a mechanism should be worked for the gradual phasing out of the trio & trying out fresh players, this will work out well for Indian cricket in the longer run.

if u don't have sachin, sourav and rahul in the team then who will like to watch cricket at this stage to analyze talent of so-called youngsters like uttapa, kartik, ranadeb bose.... Cricket has created more hype in india after world cup misery... and due to some senior players like these 3, zaheer, yuvraj and youngster dhoni v r watching cricket... if u drop these guys.. spectators will be dropped in millions of nos

Dear Anil, Cricket unlike football is different.. as even the most experienced will tumble on the day...thatz the glorious uncertainities this game has....i am not of the view that this trio should play cricket for india for next 5-10 yrs(they even cant...as they are already fading) what i meant was you cant make wholesale changes n expose raw talent to international cricket. Youngsters should be brought one after the other and they should be given time to find their feet. Raina & Venugopal rao are classic examples. Too much happened in too less time for these two n hence they are cooling their heals. So the so called selectors should start identifying the void which this trio will leave. Look at Aus they prepared Clarke as soon Steve Waugh retired.....that is called planning and foresight. Hope our selectors will also take a leaf out of the aussies book. And to remind you again it is this trio largely responsible for giving us a chance to win the series. Their contemporaries couldnt last this long as well barring lara.....so its too early to call for their heads...spare a thought for them...poor guys after serving the nation for well over 10 years if this is what they get then its a pity...

Sir, I beg to differ partially on the subject. As we have already seen, the new & younger players are taking their own time in settling down, therefore too many & abrupt changes will upset the equillibrium of the team as a whole. I'm of the opinion that the changes must be made without upsetting the balance of the team & also ensure that the performance is not affected. We have seen that in the last match, Dravid scored runs rapidly, Saurav bagged man of the match, was outstanding with both bat & ball. We have seen that even after having so many younger players, not to mention Robin Singh as the coach for fielding, India's fielding was pathetic. I totally agree with you that we must not only induct younger players,a process that should be continous, but also ensure that they are selected purely on the basis of merit & performance.

aveek can u tell me how many series did ganguly won to India he with temas help has brought till final but never was able to win the cup for India except one which was natwest series with the help of kaif & yuvraj & pakistan that with help of Dravid. & saying of Dravid captaincy in his career of captainship he has many ODI series in India & Abroad. You cant blame a captain if team dont perform well. If team perform no captain an be blame that he is bad or worst captain. Ganguly was best because team performed in his captainship.
