An inadequate statement

You say that earlier Nayan Mongia held the Indian record of five dismissals behind the wicket. You forget that it was Syed kirmani during the '83 edition of world cup who had created a world record by taking five victims in an ODI game...

Dhoni should play his natural strokes...It is a pity that he is just trying to defend the ball...no problem even if you are out..play your natural game.

Agarkar was a liability, is a liability and will be a liabiity...Our selectors are blind folded...If Australia selects even a village, a player like Agarkar cannot even reach the substitutes level..What a pity...

Why u are so jealous of Mumbai.?
Tendulkar & agarkar are one of the best batsman & bowler in one day cricket in entire world.
Their only fault is that they are from mumbai.
Jaheer khan, Ramesh powar are also from mumbai.
Whats wrong in that. it is known that mumbai has more talent than any city in India followed by banglore.
U same idiots keep ur mouth shut when club level players from north zone like chetan sharma,Ajay sharma,Nikhil chopra, Ishant sharma,Hp singh rtc & n no. of others non performer keep representing India just because some one has to be given chance from north whether he deserve or not/
It is well known fact that mumbai has won record no. of times Ranji trophy matches & produced maximum international class cricketer in india.
Regional politics is that club level players from delhi/punjab/bengal keep getting chance to represent Indian team just to keep regional balance. This is really shameful.
I believ if all 11 best players come from two cities e.g mumbai/banglore, select entire team from there. Whats harm in it.
Please stop demanding reservation even in cricket.

True Indian who is not from Mumbai

We cant compare Gilchrist to Dhoni,, He is the captain of 20 20 , he is not even taking 20 runs in the series, It is the keepers duty to keep the balls behind the wicket., naturaly he has to do it

Fielders!
by Saccha Hindustani on Sep 03, 2007 03:34 PM

Team INDIA should be well aware that series is not over yet! We have serious problems with BOWLING even our front line bowlers are wrecked by some good batting by English batsman!

Fielding has been most disappointing after bowlers start miserably. Drop catches, easy singles and doubles, misfields are quite common despite ROBIN SINGH has been TEAM INDIAs fielding coach.

No wonder our bowling coach VENKATESH PRASAD was himself was most rubbish bowler of all time!

Hope INDIA can save this series with SENIORS taking more responsiblity and showing true talent!

I think he has broken the record. Because, Gilchrist and others who have six dismissals, have those out of ten outs; while in Dhoni's case the inninigs was not complete and only eight were out. It needs to be checked with statisticians

Don't talk rubbish friend. Its never based on number of wickets lost, its based on 1 match, whether its 25 overs or 50. If you look at that Kapil Dev's record of 170 was never broken as he was not out

I dont understood the base reason for picking up Agarkar over other Bowlers in the Team. Just becoz he is a Maharastrain and Mumbaite .....

Every Match hez proven that he is consistency at giving runs .... Agreed that he picks up wickets for his high economical overs ...... He does not justify his place in the ODI team....

India should bring Ranadeb Bose. He is a splendid bowler. I have seen his action, he has the fighting spirit.
Bad luck he did not get chance in the Tests. He took wickets in a demo match against sri lanka while the indian team was playing tests.

We have to forget for one spell that we are Indian and the same thinking will washed away our all doubts of Mahthis, Mumbaits, Gujratis, Marvadis, and all. What a Nation is ours with a vast population of "/1/6" of the World population. Give away our hate of "Zonal/Religious".

Yesterday, any way, Agarkar too was a team member and only team spirit made it possible to bring the match within the court of us. Please releax.

There are players who are waiting for their chance , sitting idle in INDIA! BCCI, Captain and senior player should take initiative to send Agarkar, Munaf back home just like they send Pathan from SA and bring in ABID NABI who is surprisingly most fastest bowler in INDIA at the moment and bring in Manoj Tewari as an all rounder!

whom do you suggest should replace him ? are there any other 'consistent' bowlers sitting on the bench at the moment ?
the fact is we do not have adequate number of good medium pacers. we have to manage with what we have.
agarkar has taken almost 300 ODI wickets , so he justifies his place in the team
