Beware of mistakes, Rediff!!!!!
by Zaved Akhtar on Oct 29, 2007 05:10 PM  | Hide replies

It's good to hear something positive for Gautam Gambhir as he has been another unsung hero like Rahul Dravid.

But beware rediff, you are mistaken in saying "he continued his good form in the subsequent one-day series against the Aussies"

He was an utter failure in the 50 over format before he bounced back with a defiant 50 in T20 with Australia.

This guy is useless for ODI's ... Had been given chances quite a few timees and squandered all of them with string of failures ...
Wherever the bowlers have some scope of doing something this guy fails ...
In T20 the bowlers has only one objective i.e. save runs and in the process they don't really try to do something different and gautam capitalizes ... There lies the difference of class between the T20 winners and ODI/test players ...

A)Deepika in the stadium is inspiring the boys to perform at their best.

2)Are you looking forward to winning back your place in the Test side?

A) if vengsarkar can help in retiring the Big Three i have a good chance

I fully agree with you Eklabya. Ask the detractors of the BIG THREE, that who are the new generation guys who can replace them in the true sense and can play consistently, amongst the current players even Yuvraj can't play consitent games this has been seen right from his debut, these players play good cricket in patches and people are talking about the heads of the big three. Sourav was thrown out and bounced back as well during his absense why not any of the yougster grab the opners slot by playing consistently - Gambhir,Uthappa,Karthik & others were also tried but they could not perform when it mattered. Still Sachin & Sourav are the best opening players in the world and this does not come from me but from the cricketing greats the world over. For building the new team we need the experience of the Big three and if they fail then what are the next 8 players doing, just seeking there place in the team due to some regional quota system. Let the younger lot win one or two series without any contribution from the Big three and prove to the world that the places of the Big three should be taken over by them.
