Brahmins played an important role in selling India to Britishers,Scindia and Holkars are examples of that.
India do not want to be ruled by dirty Bramins,as they lead to sell them to Britisher again !

by HARD HITTER on Oct 16, 2007 09:35 PM
Ashish,
You are talking about racism, then no one can beat aussies. These MF's are born racist. Everyday, you can hear some indian's or asian's hotel, house vandalised, or some asian is banged by them .Thats the reason why aussies have anti-racism dept in their country.
What about UK, still at some places people from asian origin are not alowed to enter pubs. If some one enters unknowingly, he is banged to death.
You also work abroad, have you written what you feel????

Aussie anti-racism officer is cool but not Broad??
by SATISH PUTCHA on Oct 16, 2007 08:20 PM  | Hide replies

Its ironic to note that the CA's anti-racism officer has sympathised with BCCI and the difficulty in tackling crowd-related abuse but Broad is not convinced? What does Broad want the BCCI to do?

Also, since when has the term "monkey" deemed racist? Symonds himself said the Indian celebrations post-T20 had "awoken the animal in him". So maybe that animal was a monkey!!

racial slur and sledging
by biswanath roy on Oct 16, 2007 08:18 PM  | Hide replies

andrew symonds is offended by the racial slurs directed towards him by a section of the crowd at vadodara & nagpur, & ICC has taken a very serious view on it as per newspaper reports. this is on the report sent to ICC by chris board the match refree. well what was ICC doing when south african players gibbs, ntini, amla, prince were being called by dirty names by the australian spectators, when s.sfrica toured 2 years ago. also what was ICC doing last year when panesar& sajid mehmood england players were abused by the australian crowds last year during england's ashes tour.everyone knows how arrogant these aussies are, their behaviour with sharad pawar at the presentation ceremony of the championship cup in mumbai is fresh in our minds.murlidharan, harbhajan, shoaib akhtar all have been called for throwing only in australia,by australian umpires nowhere else these bowlers have landed in trouble.the aussies r masters in sledging & abusing, they call it mind game why does the ICC step in 2 ban these as has been done in football.the umpires should be given the powers 2 send out from the ground players whom he feels r going beyond limits, but no as a white team is involved no action will be taken.today a douglas jardine is needed who with the bodyline bowling directed against the aussie batsman subdued them and beat them 4-1 on their own soil.the australians had squealed & got bodyline bowling banned.england the founder of cricket is a pittoo of the USA & AUS.indians should continue.

Very well put. Do not just keep it limited to rediff. Your comments should be forwarded to the print media, otherwise no one is going to (un)cover the points you have regarding this incident

It all boils down to one thing
by Divyabh Mishra on Oct 16, 2007 08:01 PM

Hi,

I think too much has been made out of the sledging and pyschological warfare.

India played extremely well throughout the series and it boiled down to one major difference and that was Symonds' consistency with the bat. I mean he scored at an average rate of 91. If not for this, India would have won at least one or two of the matches. It's similar to the impact Sachin had on the Sharjah series between India vs Australia.

When one player plays so well, any opposing team can do very little except say well played to the opposition and look forward to the net series.

SO, I say "well Played" Dhoni and keep it up! You are taking the team in the right direction.
