Sreesanth has turned out to be another Andre Nel in the Indian ranks... he has almost become the laughing stock of the cricketing community and an embarassment of some sorts .. which even the Indian team management mildly acknowledged...
He needs to stop behaving like some street kid and realise that against top class opposition aggression needs to be channeled the right waway.. you need to answer with PERFORMANCE and not just words...
Look at the Aussies.. .they may loudmouth the opposition every now and then but it suits them - WHY ? .. because they WIN all the time. Attitude is fine ,as long as you can carry it.
Sreesanth at times acts like a sheep who has been given the disguise of a tiger... against the Aussies such camaflouge may not work....

AFter a long time, we are seeing some aggression in the Indian team and I guess Sreesanth has played a big role in that. If Sreesanth is a street kid, Aussies are loudmouths and poor losers.
Ponting and his team play as much outside the game as they do inside. Pysching teams is second nature. India badly needs 12 guys with Sreesanth's nature and attitude. Ponting and his kids are scared of an aggressive Indian Team. Becoming a laughing stock is again a very subjective expression and any Tom, Dick and Harry gets an opportunity to give his opinions, like you have just done.
"We have got a few months of cricket coming up against [them]. If he gets picked he will be a big part of that," .If thats what u really said mr ponting; guess who is sledging here. And we know u will get away with it. Funny though that none of his team mates seem to be supporting him ,publicly. All in all great fun!!

Hi Prada, what do you want to say? after all those printable and not so printable words, you want to justify Sreesanth of India. Australians are dirty but no less are your losing Indians. Shame

No one is justifying Sreesanth, becos he has not done anything wrong, dude. Two can play the same game. The Aussies have been psyching teams all along and when they get it right back, they can't scream "Murder".
Sportsman spirit is a word Ponting has never heard of and the aussies never will. Real Bad Losers......

Mr Bigmouth, we are just asking the aussies to be humble in their victory. The greatest sportsman is he who takes victory and defeat evenly in his chin. Look at your Lleyton Hewitt, once upon a time he stood on the roof and shouted about his so called mental toughness. Look whats happening to him, Roger Federer will give more respect to his alsatian than Hewitt in chasing the ball. Still Federer says he respects Hewitts play after having defeated him a staggering 13 times or so consecutively. One who is in top will always be challenged by the pretenders who want to reach the top. But it does not mean the top guy has to answer all that. Triple world champion team does not need to shout from the roof top and more so their captain against someone who is green in his ear. Look who's reputation has got sullied. If sreesanth does not make it big in cricket people will always remember him for him being the ant which entered the ears of big elephants like hayden, symonds and ponting. By the way do you know that "Although an elephant never falls, if it falls, the probability of it getting up is more closer to zero than one". So next time you rile against your opponent remember this
There is a better and more effective way of getting back at the Aussies - which is by proving your merit on the field first and displaying grace in victory or defeat!
Sreeshant is no Sachin but he can surely work towards channeling his energy on keeping focus on the game. This kind of action paints a picture of a kid gone astray and a spotty track record to be even taken seriosuly!
It's sad that it is not just his fans but his own teamates who think as much...

Well put and I totally agree, worse the more he continues with his extreme ways, the more it looks like there is no control over him in the team and does put a dampener on the whole team pyshcie!

sreesanth is a scum bag! total agreement with james he needs to grow up agression in match while bowling good deliveries is what that counts! greats like imran hadlee kapil wasim waqar usedt o pull out the stumps with the cricket ball to make their mark! this fella is so stupid thinks that he is some magic johnson of cricket!may be he does it to get fake publicity to be in the side as an "aggressor"and hes labelled as well! days a near when he will eb slapped by some opponent team members for his antics!have some worth and them speak!prove ur cricket and then open ur mouth in front of ponting whos his da-d in cricket

When you talk of slap, it is the Australians and likes of Andre Nel deserve it more than anybody else. They think that it is their privilege. Let the world call Sri Santh a bad boy. We need worst guys to deal with bad ones.

australians lost 20 20 ... feeling down .... thats why they ar crying ... its ponting who started saying in the 20 20 semi they lost coz they didn take run of srisanths ordinary bowling ... obviously sri santh has something to say ...
ponting must not shy away from taking taste of his own medicine...these guys have poineered these things therefore they dont have right to say anything. Also he asks "how he can get away with such things??"...i must say that ponting it is the SAME WAY by which u Aussie get away but at the same time Indian team shud perform...only mind games on the field(sledging) wont be enough

It is nice to see people get under these guys skin!!! Andre Nel does it also, but the only thing is that Sreesanth should tone it down a few notches. What is embrassing is all this pre match talk and hype by youngsters and media of an agressive attitude and new young era for Indian cricket!! 4 matches down the line, the media has done a U turn and the all we see if Team India falling flat on there faces!!
You got to back your words with your actions, or just hush up and perform in the game! Now you look rather idiotic, especially when the Aussies are calling you out and stating what a bunch of Fake Aggression!!!
RE:taste of their own medicine
by saturn on Oct 11, 2007 08:41 PM
Aggression is aggression. There is nothing in existence such as 'fake aggression'. It is funny when Australians consider THEIR aggression is proper and when they get it from the other side, it is fake! The bottom line is that Australians are not USED to be at the receiving end and that is why they are trying to give an eyewash and are reduced to just weeping babies. The very fact that Ponting has to take up the issue with the press means that India's aggression on and off the field is being effective!

I got to disagree with you, cause take alook at this team in the just completed match there was none of chesting tumping and in your face attitude and even the match after Sreesanth got warned by team mates/management and match refree!! It is two complete extremes !!
I do agree with the comment on the Aussies are ruffled and Ricky Pointinng is a real spoilt sport, even during his days of playing under Steve Waugh and Mark Taylor before. I guess there have been no team of late to humble them!!! Guess there time is due.

In this match, sledging was not necessary from Australians because they dominated us without it. Basically, they use it against 1) Asians, 2)Blacks and 3) to unsettle set ballers and batsmen. That is a worst kind of tactic actually, which should not be used in any game because it works on your mind. After all players are also human beings and they are bound to get angry at some point. This mind game has really no connection with Cricket or any other sport. But it is the ancestral criminal mentality of Australians which makes them do so. Mathew Hayden was once reprimanded and suspended for racist remarks. Glen MCgra used personal abuses against Ramnaresh Sarwan and involved his wife and sister in that hot chat. The basic thing is that they consider it as the privilege of whites to use against other races. So if they understand only that language, we should be aggressive in practicing it against them. We should not 'defend' as we usually do, but we should use it first hereafter. Let the world call us bad boys. Even the racist umpires and referees turn blind eyes when whites commit these follies but they punish Asian and Black players on smallest things. Sledging has nothing to do with good or bad performers in the game. If it has to be a privilege, it should be for both. Alternatively, it should be strictly banned and hard punishments should be imposed on users irrespective of their races.
Sri Santh has hit the Australians exactly where they deserve, and by their own method. Australians think that they can sledge against the asian players and that it is only THEIR privilage. But they become just crying babies when they are at the receiving end. The very fact that such a senior player as Ponting has to give so much importance to a junior like Sri Santh indicates that now the Australians are falling prey to their own medicine! Well done Sri Santh! All players should do it so that Sri Santh does not feel lonely. When Australians sledge, they all do it together.
