Sachin almost got out for a duck. No one spoke about that and why do you expect us to speak if Laxman would have gone for a duck???

If he would've been out on a duck, you wouldn't have been reading this article, nor would've been able to write down yer fkd up comment!
LAXMAN rocks, you cricket illiterate. STFU if yah can't see his class game yet. Hez a gift to India.
I reallly dont understand ...why dada or dravid or laxman should keep performing abover average in crunch situations..........what the hell sachin is doing...if yuvi have to replace let him come at Karthik place or jaffer.........I dont think Dada should be dropped at any cost.... ppl go crazy if he doesnt play...I feel india lost its charm becos of Sachin he plays for him not for the country..but Dravid and laxman plays for country... Dada develeped a team which is aggressive...he is the player who made sehwag laxman and even dravid.........what the hell sachin gave to indian team in his last 20 yrs of career other than his bank balance or property values of 1000 crores............all the stupid mumbaikars or selfish people lick sachin...No one supports dravid or dada...Take laxman he gives his best but still will be dropped..........Useless Sachin fans.......lick his foot and clean his house

Dada is the most selfish player in the world. He better retire from international cricket and play for ICL or IPL.

u stupid idiot Rahul Prasad. If Sachin has to play only for money he can easily join IPL or ICL at his terms. Dont bark if u r really unaware of world.

Ridiculous. Give the openers time to form a combination. A settled opening combination is essential to the middle order doing well. If you look at any of the great teams, they had a good settled opening combination. By the way, the last time India played Test cricket, Sachin, Sourav and Laxman performed. Dravid was struggling, but he is a class batsman. Dhoni is keeper, so where do we fit Yuvraj? His bowling is not good enough to get him into the team. To disturb the opening just because a gifted middle order player can't get in is rank stupid. So Yuvraj should wait until one of the Fab Four of the middle order leaves. By the way, why is there so much abusive language? Aren't we supposed to be a decent civilized nation?
Sourav Ganguly did a yeomen's service for the team India for the last decade. It is difficult for any player to retire that easily when 1) the stakes in terms of money is very high, 2) the person's capability is still better than the youngstars who are waiting for their call
With the above premises I have full sympathy for Ganguly, but a cricketer of his stature should retire at a time when he is still contributing to the team, and not a burden and be dropped by the selection committee. Ganguly earned his second life by his determination and hard work, and have given a befitting reply to the conspiracy/dirty works spearheaded by Greg Chappel and his machinery.
BCCI should make a deal with Ganguly that he retires after Pakistan or Austraian series, and then be retained as a member of selection committee. Ganguly should accept such honorable deal and concentrate to improve Indian players for the future. Let Rohit, Yuvi, Manoj, Badrinath, Uthappa, Gambhir, Raina, Pujara, Parthiv, ... compete vigorously for slots in team India.

ru crazy r what.........why the hell u wanna blame dada over here..........cooommmmon man.........is dada has to retire sachin also has to..........no youngster is better than laxmand dravid or dada in test cricket.......

Dada is great, but Sachin is way ahead of Sachin, and his recent form is like MVP for the series. Dravid is still better than Dada any day any time. As far as fielding goes, Dada is worst of te the three, and he is 37, so no way he can improve his fielding.
Sachin and Dravid still can go on for another 2-3 years, but Dada and Kumble shold plan on retiring in the very near future. We can not keep ignoring Yuvi after his recent stellar performance. If Yuvi is not ijncluded in the team soon, all the younger players will lose heart because of incentive or motivation whatever you might call it.

Don't compare any one with Sachin .. he is the best .. ever !! .. many people watch cricket b'cos of him only .. he is far better than ANY batsman in india .. or shall I say the world .. Saurav is good ... compare with others like dravid and laxman ..
i am not saying that kumbley is not a good palyer but i dont htink that he has the abbility to captian a side . i am not saying this because today he made a 50 i have put post previously in rediff regarding this where many supported but our selection team had a different view
RE:VVS should be captian
by Susobhan Ghosh on Nov 23, 2007 10:00 PM
I am hoping that BCCI selected Kumble as Captain to recognize his service to Indian cricket for the last decade or two. Kumble is very intelligent person, so he knows very well that it is better to retire before he is dropped at this stage of his career and his life. In such scenarioe we certainly need a younger captain, be it Dhoni or Yuvi or VVS. Let Dhoni/Yuvi/Karthik be groomed for the captaincy when he retires. I added the name of Karthik because one time Greg Chappel was very much impressed about Dinesh K. and he was seeing him as future captain of team India because of sincerity, body language, personality, etc.

Kumble is still arguably one of the top bowlers in world cricket. He is a hardcore professional, so he will go when he feels he is not good enough. The BCCI took a good decision by fluke when they made him captain. Laxman would have been a very good choice, but Kumble is just as good a choice.

I think it is not a bad opinion. Laxman has good record as a captain. Nothing wrong to propose when we heard proposals of likes of Yuvraj.
Instead of questining VVS Laxman's ability every time selectors need to drop Ganguly in favour of Yuvraj. Definitely Laxman and Yuvraj are better players than ganguly in testes. Also you need to groom youngsters like badrinath by taking them in the team which will be very useful experience when sachin and dravid retires. Remember how ganguly used to drop Kumble in favour of harbajan earlier. He would have never dreamt that one day kumble will decide his place in the team. I think that is running in gangulys mind now which may have prompted him to praise kumble's captaincy yesterday thinking that would heal the earlier rubbings.

Well. Just go back to Saoth Africa Series before they went to England and checkout who rescued India against SA's fearocious pacers. It was Ganguly. Get your facts right, first. Otherwise, your call for inclusion of Yuvaraj doesnt hold much substance. Yuvaraj has nada experience in test cricket or long forms of cricket. Let him go back and play 3-day matches in domestics and prove himself, first. The team that india now has is the better one.

To all you idiots who are talking of dropping Ganguly,U guys just don't understand class and cricket,do ya?Show me one person in the Indian team with such tremendous strength of mind and determination as Sourav Chandi Ganguly. When he was dropeed, people were after his skin, but he had the mettle, the class, the character to bounce back and play a gritty 51 at Durban, followed by a mind-blowing 66 of 75 balls at the Wanderers. He has scored over 10,000 runs in ODI's,is widely regarded as the man with the golden arm, averages more than 40 in both forms of the game, and still u fat-headed guys don't understand why he is in the team? How much more consistency do you expect?Surely 10 bad innings don't spell doom for anybody, specially not for a player who's played 10 long years, and is responsible for inducing aggresion into the team. So guys, please THINK before u say something.First try and reach his stature, then consider yourselves even CAPABLE of being opinionated on whether he should play or be dropped.

A knock on the leg of Md. Yousuf when the same was before the wicket must have been worth 50 runs at least. What do u say?

If he's in the team to pick one wicket per game, then he's nothing but a sad ass liability.
I have time and again stressed that Laxman is very talented and deserves a place in test side ahead of even Sachin and Sourav. It would have been a great disappointment if he would have been dropped in favor of Yuvraj. No doubt Yuvraj is a great player, but he should be included at the expense of Sourav or Sachin and not Laxman. Laxman has no godfather and only has talent, and that is saving him. I really doubt if Kumble would not have been the captain Laxman would not have been included in the playing eleven. Anyway, Laxman again proved that he is Very Very Special and the team management now should think of sending him at two-down so that he and Dravid can play sheet anchor roles.
