I reckon the only decent cricket team in the world is Aus. Therefore you're not a proven player till you've played well CONSISTENTLY against full strenght Aus bowling attack (McGrath, Warne, Lee & Gillespie). Indian batsmen have only played well against that attack in the 2000-01 series in India as when they went to Aus in 2003-04 those McGrath & Warne were both injured. Now that those 2 and Gillespie have gone India should comfortably win against Aus this time. But my guess is they'll flatter to deceive yet again, making these facile perfomances against a third rate side (Pakistan - who were hammered 3-0 by Aus last time they were there) worthless and all hype and no substance
Its a rediculous heading. Just because some one played a great knock long time back, there place is granted for ever. Lakshman's innings deserves great appreciation and the bottom line is performance counts. Anyone for that matter keep performing to be in the team. Just because they hit a 50 or 100, it doesn't mean all the critisism were wrong.

Go easy this chak-de sound byte. Its annoying and boring. And I'm assuming the movie sucked big time. So why give SRK free publicity?
Ganguly is a good captain and a good one day player. Infact i strongly beleive sachin and saurav are best opening pair in world in ODI. But when it comes to test matches saurav was good captain but was not an exceptional player. In his entire test carreer he has played only one or two noteworthy test innings leave alone winning testes by himself as a batsman. Hence we can retain him in ODI and drop from test and play yuvraj instead. In his place youngster like Badrinath who has Excellent Technique and Temperment needed for playing in test matches can be taken in team and groomed.
It appears that Rahul Prasad has something against Sachin. I wonder whether Rahul was dumped by a Mumbaikar. He seems to have forgotten that in the one-day series, but for Sachin we would have lost a match, if not more.
When even opponents praise and keep praying for Sachin to fail, what does Rahul know about cricket? I am no Mumbaikar, I am from Karnataka who has settled abroad.

Don't give 'Rahul Prasad' much importance. (S)He is not worth even a mention - forget getting himself highlighted in a headline.
everybody arguing for ganguly talks of either his captaincy or his one day records only. Iam too is a fan of ganguly and still beleives sachin and saurav are best opening pair in world in ODI. But when it comes to test matches,out of his entire career we can singleout hardly an innings or two which are noteworthy.He served better as a captain and not as a player in Test matches - repeat "Test Matches". If we have to play someone who was a good captain then we still would have to take kapil dev in eleven. Every player goes past his prime and even the great viv richards was not considered in team during his fag end of his career. Ganguly was never been a great player in test and he has past his prime. He needs to be replaced by Yuvraj and yougsters like Badrinath should be given chance.
Why does't the selection team follow the Paskitani way of selection. What the Pakistani do, is the selection team goes in a car to towns and villages watches the people childers playing in lanes and grounds. Pick them up and then nuthers them to what they are today.It really works.

that way sachin dada dravids wont be playing for so long LOL! wasim was picked when he bowled as a bowler in practise nets by miandad and then nutured by imran. waqar was just picked by imran for sheer pace, aaqib for his line and length. shoiab akhtar made debut very late due to his skirmishes with the domestic side coaches and managers. saqlain as well was picked by wasim and what legend he was by inventing doosra. Imran presisted with abdul qadir for leg break when no one had leggies in one dayers. india is i guess maligned by regionalism. In pak we have it too but not to an extent that india has it may be due to huge country. In late 80s and mid 90s indian team apart from likes of sachin azhar jadeja were a bunch of regional players
