Rajesh Chauhan said that there are no other good off-spinners in India, it is absolutely wrong. He also said that "thare are lot of talented players in India". But they wont make into National Squad due to dirty politics. Can any one know / heard about off-spinner from Kerala S. Anish, an excellent talented player who have already taken 16 wickets from two outings for Kerala from ongoing Ranji matches also a good fielder and a good batsman. But he will never get a chance to play for India due to this dirty politics.

Let him play some more Ranji matches and show his talent. then selectors will definitely have to think about him.

Dear Mister, We had one Ananthapadmanabhan who was in the same suqad of Anil Kumble.Unlucky fellow. He did not get a chance in Indian team.he was a an excellent leg spinner like Kumble.he bats more well than Kumble too. But, destiny was against him.

Mr. Nalin the case of Ananthapadmanabhan is not an exception. During the reign of Bedi many talented players like Kumar, Shivalkar could not find a place in the team. Faroukh Engineer continued to keep wickets (without doing much) for a long time due to West Zone dominance as Selector at that time. There are many such examples. Only the luckiest of players get a chance.

Karthik ko do baar batting karayega kya???. Nahin toh Murali aur karthik alag kyon kar diya? Uske baap ko bhi khila raha hai kya.
ICL is a great idea hope its succeed. BCCI is foolish to oppose it now BCCI has started IPL hey whats this. if BCCI thot ICL is wrong why did they start IPL.
BCCI is spineless. Look at ICL they have already appointed prominent guys to search and harness talent. Actually BCCI should hav done this rather that waiting to players to perform till ranji on their own then pick them in the national side.
Let the three spinners play and we will see how they will be clobbered by Paki batsmen. If India opt for 3 spinners, Pakistan will not scroe anything less than 500 whether batting first or second and then put INdia under tremendous pressure.
Been reading the message boards from the past couple of days and every one wants yuvraj to play in the Test series against Pak and then Aus. But I personally do not think that Yuvraj is a test player, he%u2019s like the Michael Bevan kinds. Amazing in the ODI%u2019s but when it comes to test cricket he does not possess the temperament, patience, character, endurance that a test player requires. He%u2019s more of the Bang, Bang kinds. Although he%u2019s been playing for India since 2000 he has not established himself as a test player, where as Dhoni who came in later than Yuvraj has showed us that he%u2019s suited to Test as well. He saved us that first test in Lords against England earlier this year. I still feel against both Pak and Aus, India should play Sachin, Laxman and Ganguly in the middle order and must and should play 5 bowlers and not make Ganguly open attacks as he%u2019s best at part time.

Good point Imran but how can you pick Gangu Bai instead of Dravid. Otherwise, your XI is ideal.
Ganguly should play only if we need 6 batsmen. In the current form Yuvraj is, I think he should be given 2 Tests and then if he fails Gangu Bai comes in.After 2 failures, I think we can PERMANENTLY close the door on Yuvraj's face.

Sai,
I agre wid u about ganguly. Although is record is not so great in Tests but looking at his experience my view is that it's better to go with him than Yuvraj. Yuvraj has also been given chances but he has not latched upon it. And any time i guess Ganguly will be more reliable than Yuvraj.

Some people say we should not consider past good performances and should only consider present performances. Similarly, according to same logic we should not consider past bad performances if present performance is good. In 2007, Dinesh Kartik - 571, Sachin - 560, Sourav - 489 are 3 heighest scorers in tests, even more than Dravid. So Ganguly deserves a place in the team on merit unless offcourse mother tongue of a player is considered merit or demerit of player. Consider his performances in recent tests against England, SA, etc
Cricket history is full of slow bowlers. But the discerning eye can easily pick up that many took the job because they could not do any other thing - batting, fast bowling or even stopping the ball properly...
Amongst such blokes - O'Reilly, Fleetwood-Smith, Grimmett, Johnson, Laker, Ramadhin, Valentine, Lock, Benaud, Gupte, Mankad, Bedi, Prasnna, Chandra, Venkat, Underwood, Qadir, Doshi, Warne, Shastri, Murali, Kumble, Raju, Saqlain, Vettori, Mushtaq, Kaneria, Karthik, MacGill, Harbhajan, Rafeeq are some names that come to mind - Rajesh Chauhan was VERY different. Had a CLEAN action. Was a TREMENDOUS fielder. Could even open the batting and concentrate for very long hours. Was VERY active and involved, inspiring everyone to stretch more...
Deserved to be captain. Deserved at least a Padma Shri.
See his comments above ! NO ONE WOULD HAVE EVEN THOUGHT ONE HALF OF WHAT HE HAS !!! What insights, what knowledge... !!!
At ICL, I'm sure he would churn out a team that would beat Ponting & Co. in a matter of two years...
