I wonder who are the ones writing articles for rediff. This article starts as "India's gamble to go in with just four specialist bowlers backfired ............". According to this statement it seems that the fifth bowler was the one who cost us the match. But that was not the thing that happened. All the 4 specialist bowlers(r they ???????????)along with the fifth got thrashed.

for me this is the best india shud play kaif saves runs abt 15-20 and score 20 so he made 40 ok tendu and gangs can blast any bowling ghambir will e there if one fails yuvi mid order dhoni uthapa irfan kaif can score brisk u have 4 specialist bowlers and tendu gangs and yuvi van assist! u cant subsitute on slow tracks karthick

Ganguly can blast any bowling.........r u kidding? He was blasting some second string bowlers long back and now he is not doing even that. Yuvraj: If he has scored 40 he behaves as if he has scored 400.(Look at his mannerisms on field ...........just like a superstar. Bullshit). Dhoni: Definitely not good at int. level against lively conditions and bowling. I would rather go with Sehwag, Parthiv and Badrinath/Rohith in place of them.

Thanks for ur suggestion. I will think abt it. But one thing .......I dont think the day when u only suggest Parthiv in place of Dhoni is too far away. Just watch out the Australia series.
as the discussion stands every body looks for the goat who's head should be chopped off batting 2nd in a day night game in India is always going to win as the bowlers were not going to grip the ball properly althpugh dhoni's decision was brave (not smart) they still lost because pakistan batted sensibly this time and going with four bowlers shows no sense as going with 7 batsmen to compensate for 2 batsmen failing.

in india they write the script of an ODI and hand each player their individual copies of the ball by ball script in which each players role and actions in a match are laid out in detail everyone has to follow the script like in a movie ....they have not yet been able to do that in world cup finals or maybe they did ...misbah was asked to give away the match ...simple BCCI has more money than PCB remember? so pawar would have won the t20 final match auction
CONFIDENTIAL BCCI LETTER sharad pawar fixed this match under huge pressure from TV channels and advertising sponsors ...the TV channels pressurised pawar to keep the indo pak Hype going...they did not want india to win this match and make the series completely onesided resulting in lower viewership and TRP ratings
the deal between pawar and sponsors was finalized round around the 35th over and pawar sent word to dhoni to 'drop' the match in the 37th over and the rest is history

I totally agree with your views. When India was going along at 6.5 runs per over, suddently after 35th over, wickets started falling and the runs were not scored even of mediocre Pak bowlers. I dont know who is fixing the matches. But it has brought the game of cricket into disrepute. It is nothing but a game played by 11 players and watched by 11 million fools round the globe.

i think umpires also went against India. While Uthappa was a victim of poor decision, Younis khan gained much from the wrong decisions- at least two times he would have been out had the umpires been right- once to pathan and then to harbhajan-both seemed plump lbw s.......?

India played one bowler short, that too in a pace friendly pitch. Srisanth or Praveenkumar should have been given a chance. It was a great blunder to fill the gap of the 5th bowler with a batsman and complete the overs with part time bowlers. Pakistan exploited this weakness and scored runs freely. But the match was closely contested and thanks for the two team altogether. The crowd really had a feast of runs on a day which saw more than 640 runs scored. The pitch curator also deserve praise. Punjab Cricket Association also deserve praise as the stadium looked really beautiful.
