Hi Folks: Let's be fair with Sachin. After all he a human being like us. Let us give Sachin give a chance to go back to his coach and learn the new tricks of the game. He has the talent. It's just he is not playing the way he used to 5 years ago. BCCI must have an effective rotation policy so that the players get rest and some training to give their best when they are representing the nation. For a senior player like Sachin, I see his future role to be of an all-rounder batting at lower order. He can thus stabilize the team when ever required.
sachin afraid of playing agnst str teams . he will not opt out agnst ireland . wait and watch if he had to play bgla for another 3 tests he wd hv played to score 3 more 100

no it is not qst of critising greatest players in world like sobers, bradman, viv , gavaskar , lloyd, warne, mcgraw , ponting , lara , imran, borg, sampras, mohammad ali, marradonna, pele, kasarpov hv to retire when they r no. 1/2 in world and not thrown out when they r not selected even in their countries team . they lose name in history. tommorrow if sachin in not selected even in indian team for odi/ tests no new genmeration will remember him . he has engh money why he is taking this risk . i hv been his big fan . but not now. like me he lost millions of hios fan in india already. u saw what happened inm mumbai last year and after world cup one more series fail. u will also join others

Atleast we have something to cherish. What about sachin haters, they kept on crticising and got nothing in return> he is still playing and will be playing till he himself wishes to retire.

Yes, Sachin's next mission to destroy's India's 2011 world cup. Sachin lovers will obviously be happy. It's now obvious Sachin fans are responsible for flop show in all of 5 world cups in which Sachin has played.
The countries Interest will never be of any concern to the average Sachin fan or Sachin for that matter.

And you all crticising sachin are doing great job for the country!! A guy who made every Indian proud to say that Sachin belongs to india, one who was hounoured by WISDEN, bradman. Still around the world, every cricket playing nation have a great respect for him. Someone has rightly quoted, we Indians have a very short memory.
RE:jo dar gaya wo mar gaya
by deep kumar on May 28, 2007 07:02 PM
no he will all tests matches . india is due to play 15 test matches in next 1 year. u know sachi had a lead of 10 centuries over ponting 18 months back and before bdesh tour gap was only 2 centuries . sachin is afraid ultimatyely record will not be in his name so he will keep on playing all matches spc weak teams to increase gap.

This is not the Proper way to Treat a Person like Sachin, who has given every thing for Cricket and Country. From My end I Believe that Sachin has already been a roll model for comming Young Players and His Experience would Definitely Usefull for 2011 WC.Cricket is a Team Game Not a One Man Show.So Stop Criticising Sachin and We Indians Forget very Quickly thats why we are Still lagging in all aspects.

True, with Sachin in the team we will definetly lag and brag victories against Bangladesh.

Wisden, Bradman but what does Mcgrath say, he won the battle against Sachin. Be realistic, Mcgrath, Warne retired at the top, unlike Sachin who will obviously end up like his mentor Bradman, after getting a few short pitched deliveries from Harmison, Tait and co.
RE:jo dar gaya wo mar gaya
by AAA on May 28, 2007 07:13 PM
Mcgrath and warne, no doubt are the beat in their field, but they also have lot of respect for sachin. They know what is his calibre and what he can do to their bowling, both have been bashed by him many a times. Yeah I agree that Mcgrath had a upper hand, when sachin and he were face to face, but this doesnot mean that sachin was not able to play him. he has frustrated Mcgrath many times and in return Mcgrath was sportive enough to applaud his batting. It as against harmison's pace he scored 138 not out. Lets see what tait has to say in coming december.
RE:jo dar gaya wo mar gaya
by Bengal Tiger on May 28, 2007 07:16 PM
Tait/Lee will obviously produce lethal bouncer's and this time Sachin will not get time to duck (unlike the previous tour where while doing his customary sit ups against Mcgrath he got hit on his arm and was judged LBW). This time it will be nice smack on the helmet (Ponting will do what Douglas Jardine did against Bradman) and that would be the end of Sachin.

lot of other players in world had respect for him even imran chepple s, warne , mcgraw rameez , do they still hv ?// no they respect him for his past. not for present . he is playing for different reasong this is the only thing i agree with ian/ greg .

yes yes ganguly scored last ODI century against kenya in 2003 and innings against Bangladesh. It helped them win. you say "unlike Sachin who will obviously end up like his mentor Bradman, after getting a few short pitched deliveries from Harmison, Tait and co."
Now this test BD series it was funny way of handling Mortaza....
Sachin Tendulkar wants to play only against Bangladesh, Canada, Netherlands, etc.
Sorry boys @ my age & form, I can't face quality bowlers. Since I have my past records & spineless selectors to lean on, my selection to the team for the next 15 years is assured.

common that is not fair comment, ruthless world this, it can forget its heroes so very fast. Sachin has done enough, for this country, more than you and me, in bringing fame. this is not the way we pay tribute to all his tireless efforts. have you forgot the last world cup, series against australia in india and sharjah, have you forgotten the triseries in zimbabwe,

B.Borg retired when he was not able to play his game, even against newcomers. Look at sachin, he is still going strong.

when jimmy conners mcnrow retired they were still playing and beating top players of their prime in senior circuit . . sachin in in this ckt can score even 500 runs . but in this class his time is over . today even great sampras cannot beat fedrer. time and age cathes up . fedrer can still beat players of atp ranking 10plus not ntop 3
RE:Sachin Opted Out

Jimmy corners, mcnroe, navratilova and cris evert loyd, everyone tried to make comeback even after their retirement, Why? cos they thought they can still make at the top. So whats wrong with sachin playing at 35 and still going strong

gone r the days when sachin was world class that too in top three . no bodt cd play at top for ever even great borg retired when he became no. 2 . sachin is not even in top 7 . yes agnst bdesh ireland canada zimbawbe pakistan india he may still be in top 3 . a great player has to retire at top

why do u think ur boss will pay u 1% of what sachin has..bcoz he loves u? do u think those who paid him are in love with him...its bcoz he has achieved it...with his performances or 78 intl centuries and more than 100 fifties out of which more than 60% have resulted in india's victories.. May be u can achieve as big in ur field and ur bosses will pay u some % of that too.. It's easy to criticize; hard to be positive..

definitely he will continue playing, Atleast he at 35 can last and carryon the bat,not like the youngsters who get retired hurt after scoring 100
RE:Sachin Opted Out
by Bengal Tiger on May 28, 2007 06:48 PM
What was Sachin's scoring rate, with that strike rate he could play for 5 days (after all he was hardly bothering to score, standing there and fooling around, will obviously result in energy conservation). In fact the Umpire seemed to be more active than Sachin on the field, they move around after every over after concentrating hard.
RE:Sachin Opted Out
by AAA on May 28, 2007 06:53 PM
whose strike was better? kartik, jaffer? whose everyone were sailing on same boat. They are comparatively younger tan sachin, why didn't they score at a striking RR. He atleast playing and frustrating BD bowlers stayed at crease, what happened to youngaters - RETIRE HURT. And Ganguly WOW he was having great strike rate in his huge score.
RE:Sachin Opted Out

u rank sachin in top 2/3 and want to comare with kartick, jaffar . u think before writing . they r not even in top 50
RE:Sachin Opted Out
by AAA on May 28, 2007 07:05 PM
HAHAHAH. Unable to play decent shots!! There is no shot in cricketing book which sachin cannot play. Who plays rademark leg flike agianst onthe rise delivery on leg side, a straight bat hit right at teh back of bowler for a six, standing tall on toes and knocking ball thru extra cover, pulling star bowlers thru midwicket and the best is six square of the wicket. what more do you want!! Can Ganguly play these shots? Ganguly can just block the ball, cut thru covers(gets out quite frequently playing this shot) or dance down the wicket to hit a six. Thats all. Everyone is aware of Ganguly's game after his comeback(courtesy:sharad powar), he is slowest scorer in our present team.
RE:Sachin Opted Out
by Bengal Tiger on May 28, 2007 06:57 PM
Ganguly performed in South Africa in SA whereas, Sachin performed where... in Bangladesh, don't worry Pawar has arranged another masala tour for Sachin in Ireland. These are the types of teams Sachin can score against.
Frustrating Bangla bowlers or he was unable to play any decent shot other than nudging around and pottering aimlessly.
RE:Sachin Opted Out
by Bengal Tiger on May 28, 2007 07:09 PM
Sachin can contribute in only test matches in Bangladesh against pedestrian attack, what happened in South Africa.. what happened to those great shots, :). Poor, Sachin was struggling even against an inexperienced bowler like Mortaza, against whom he was busy doing sit ups (i agree they where really classical sit ups ).:)
RE:Sachin Opted Out
by AAA on May 28, 2007 07:19 PM
Who doenot have abad patch in his game. Name a single player throuout the world who has consistently performed throughout his career. Ponting had a dreadful start when he came to international level. Look at flintoff, who was hero in last ashes series in england, was super flop in concluded ashes series in AU. Hayden was dropped due to poor form, brfore he came back with bang.. Fleming was out of form, before chapell-hadlee series and so on..... Who didnot struggle against mortaza in the one and only encounter with BD this WC. Right from top to bottom, except Yuvraj.
RE:Sachin Opted Out
by Bengal Tiger on May 28, 2007 07:40 PM
Hayden proved himself, so did Ricky, Flintoff for his poor form is cooling his heels out the England team 11, Fleming has given up his captaincy. But, Sachin will never give up, because he has his sponsors obligations. He has long ago given up playing for the country, now he is busy with ad industry, cricket why should he be bothered after all Pawar has assured Sachin a permanent seat in the team bus.
RE:Sachin Opted Out
by Nilima Chatterji on May 28, 2007 09:11 PM
Flemming gave his captaincy ot stopped playing & see his records for last 20 matches it is 3 times bad than it was against Sachin's worst bad patch. Flintoff did not play because of injury not because of his bad form which is now like for ever. Ponting use to be very irrational plyer and now he is at his top of the game. Mathew Hayden scored 380 against zimbabwe (weaker than Bangladesh)with 2 lives and one wrong call (when sachin gets wrong call its usually bad one)at his hometown Perth. Ponting also made merry against Bangladesh last year. What Gilchrist is doing now except 149 against Srilanka. Australia does not win/loose because of one person. For Sachin he gets blame for all India's losses because of people who have some regionalbiases. I am fan of Saurav and think he is one of the best but have no doubt that Sachin is best player. What he earns is still nothing compared to greatest playesrs in other sports in other countries earn and should not matter anyway. Also deep when you earn more your expenses are more too. Everyone wants money you have to spendon family security and need to stay upto date with your circle hence there is no diff between you giving up your salary than sachin giving up his and any charity should be confidential otherwise its propaganda.
RE:Sachin Opted Out
by Bengal Tiger on May 28, 2007 09:19 PM
Gilchrist's smashes a timely ton and wins the world cup for Australia. Sachin even before the 2007 world cup began, he was giving statements about 2011 world cup (which of course he will ruin again). Sachin selfishly does not pay his taxes properly (sorry, we don't do that), and of course does not want to pay tax on his Ferrari. What is the difference between Sachin and people like Bhosale who was nabbed for evading customs? Check out how Mathew Hayden has performed for Australia in the world cup , what happened to Sachin? Ponting does not need cheap tours to Bangladesh to boost his century count, he can do it against good teams.

dude did u watch sachin play in SA? he was playing his vintage shots..i just enjoyed his superb drives he played in his innings of 42, 64, 65...and both him and ganguly scored almost equal runs so its not that ganguly did something special..he had to score to prove his worth as a comeback man.. I dont compare ganguly and sachin and who is good or bad...but i go by facts and the fact is for 15 yrs and still today; sachin is the best batsman in INdian team...no matter what..
RE:Sachin Opted Out
by Bengal Tiger on May 29, 2007 03:00 PM
Yes, watched him play in South Africa and did you see how he fared in the final ODI, he was struggling in the tests too where after getting starts he could not carry on. He was in word ... just pathetic.
Most of the senior players of world cricket are complaning about too much cricket. Now the time has come when every cricket playing nation should keep 2 teams, one is senior and other is junior. In India Senior team will be having sachin, sourav, rahul. senior team will play 50 overs and junior will play 20 -20.
Out of 53 M O M won by against AUSSIES it is 10 times S Africa it is 04 times S Lanka it is 07 times Pakistan it is 06 New ze land it is 05 times West Indies it is 09 times
