Ask yourself this question, else u wouldnt have visited this column. We Indians have become intolerant and can only critise. Try playing this game yourself, you will know what it takes to play at the highest level. I am a positive believer and die hard supporter of my Countrymen...I know only to support my people and know we are in the right direction. Pls dont comment if you are not involved in any ways.

Believe me.. be it politics / religion or cricket it is very easy to fool us Indians...
Forget cricket and concentrate on your career and family that will reap much much better results.. Or involve in some Society building activity..

Intercontinental tournament
by Nitin Grover on Jun 11, 2007 10:04 AM

Why not have an intercontinental tournament in which you have India, Pakistan, SL and Bang representing Asia, Zim, SA and Kenya representing Africa, England, Holland and Ireland rep. Europe, Aus and NZ rep. Australia West Indies, and finally Canada and USA representing North America. Have a round robin league between these 6 teams with top 2 qualifying for finals.

Are they true indians
by isac tharian on Jun 11, 2007 09:57 AM

in World cup also played by same criketers, it seems they did match fixing in the wolrd cup and did not played and now playing their game. I think we must ban criket in India and save our new generation at least.

Chapathi Batsman !
by Chandu on Jun 11, 2007 09:41 AM  | Hide replies

Dhoni can hit only chapathi shots! He can play only in slow subcontinent pitches where the ball takes it own sweet time to come to bat and the batsmen get all the time in the world to play the shot. He will fail miserably in any fast tracks as we have seen during the world cup. I would bet on Dinesh Karthik over Dhoni as a batsman. As a keeper he still has an edge over Dinesh.

Does it really matter if it is chappati or tandoori shot ..... as long as he is able to win matches and maintain an AVG. OF 48 & STRIKE RATE OF 99.
Karthik is better than Parthiv but Please dont compare him to Dhoni. Thers a light year in between them.

What I meant is that the chapathi shots will work only in Indian subcontinent and not in the big venues of world cricket.

well....
Dhoni has never played in Aus, NZ & Eng. Let him play there and then talk abt it rather than assuming that he cant play there.

The Little chance he got karthik, has proved and moreover i thnk he has a better technique playing overseas where the ball moves and also bounces. Dhoni record outside sub continent is dismal. He has to prove that he can play well in England, Australia and New Z lead. Playing in sub contient pitches wont make the guy a world class player..Understand my dear friend....

Mr. Surya, Dhoni has NEVER got a chance to play ODI in Eng,Aus & N.Z and thats no fault of his.
His Avg. in W.I & S.A combined is 55 (other than W.C) which is i suppose not bad.
So can v stop assuming that he wont do well there, my dear friend.

Dhoni can't play abroad
by imac on Jun 11, 2007 09:33 AM

I dont think so Dhoni any serious batsmen. He will fail miserably in bowler friendly conditions abroad. His technique is suited to hit blind when the ball is not swinging.

in wc if so called gr8 player schin failed how can u expect a player playing his first wc and comming at 7 can turn the match. the main culprit of wc was sachin and sehwag who played for 4o overs and when critical moment comes gave it to dhoni how could dhoni turnover the match in last 8 to 10 overs. see he has good potential that everybody knows only thing he has to work upon is keeping patience. and please dont crtisise dhoni just because he is from jharkhand which was bihar earlier.
