Dhoni's Record....
by KRISHNAN CHANDRA SENAN on Jun 11, 2007 04:33 AM

It is lovely to see the performance of our cricketers. It should be appreciated. At the same time the players should think of their CONSISTENCY. Many cricketers in India have many records to their account. Unfortunately, they are playing for themselves. They have never played for India as a team. That spirit should be instilled in them. Hope we could see some positive trend atleast in future. None are against their personal growth, afterall, they need money. But, then, they should think of the game by which they get it. Airing suggestions once hit a century and keeping their mouth shut when they fall in front of the wicket proves only their behavioral arrogance of these so called great batmen.

If India wins then report. Keep all these records to yourself. INDIAN VICTORY IS WHAT COUNTS. These records are only celebrated in Indian press. much of it is bull etc etc etc

So in your opinion there should be report if India is not playing or if India looses? If you dont want read about non-India games, you are free to ignore the reports. Why should rediff or any newspaper stop reporting just because a looser like you is not interested?

Great Commitment,Dhoni
by on Jun 11, 2007 12:20 AM  | Hide replies

More than the runs Dhonie scored today, I was inspired by his commitment. He did not give up while batting inspite of sufferng from exhaustion and more importantly, came back to keeping wickets. Having been in Chennai for many years and having played the game, I know how difficult it is to be on the field for most part of the 100 overs. Great Commitment Dhoni,Keep it up.

we indians are little bit of crazy. we simply forget our performances in last world cup. our cricket heroes are nothing but paper tigers. so let them play and achive something for us as well as for the nation and then worship them. i am sorry to say that but it is fact.

Good effort but not great one. I watched the match on TV. The bowling was really mediocre. Kemp allowed the poor bowlers to continue and Dhone kept on having fun out there

Dhoni perfoms in 'flash of a pan' way
by gautam singh on Jun 10, 2007 11:35 PM  | Hide replies

I dont understand how do u people still manage to discuss the game of cricket after a disgracful and shameful world cup tour. As far as DHONI is concerned, I am from Ranchi & I know what kind of guy Dhoni is.He has always had stardom hunger. He likes people noticing him.He plays casually. Who can forget the way he got out to Murlitharan LBW, the first ball he played. And about his keepering is concerned, honestly ,he is referred as more of a Batsman/Wicketkeeper that Wicketkeer/Batsman unlike Adam Gilchrist.Though ,he is talent but not good enough to combat Australians in any part of the world except sub-continent.
I know him . I have seen him behaving after he came back from the World Cup . He was not as upset as we Indians were after the Worrld Cup debacle. None of our cricket players play cricket as seriously as Roger Federer plays his game of tennis...He is just there... He is the best thing ever happened to the world of sports.
Our cricket team should have attitude and perseverence to face the reality... Our skipper Mr Dravid always talks positive at press conference about the game and behaves negative on the ground .Either it b a team selection or fieliding placements or it b a bowling change.....Lets accept it .... we can never be world beaters but can dream of it....So why not enjoy other sports like tennis ,F1,Football

Dear gautam,
"I am from Ranchi & I know what kind of guy Dhoni is.He has always had stardom hunger. He likes people noticing him." What made you say this MR GAUTAM. I TOO AM FROM RANCHI , but never saw Dhoni getting into cheap stunts. In fact people like you try to get some attention by tagging yourself to greats like DHONI.
In fact we Indians always feel that GHAR KI MURGI DAAL BRABAR HOTI HAI. WC is over , let it be over and move on yaar . I would suggest you to take a break from "watching & discussing " cricket and better concentrate on more important issue like the National games taht we are supposed to hold this year or may be KHEL GAON and the conspiracy angle over there.

Who r u?

India won last 9 th one day series (in two year) with due to batting performance. This tells data and profile and comentator almost all they belong to. He is finest cricketer of the time.

Do u know he batted and scored 183...higest among world wicketkeeper.
Do u know in 65 innings he is 19th time not out with maximum no. of half century...record in world indian cricket
do u know he is holding highest strike rate in world?
Do u know He is fourth rank batsman in the world? He was previously No. 1 rank in the world.

Highest sixes among any player in the just 65 matches

Do u know he scored 2350 runs in only 65 innings. No wicketkeeper in world one day histroy who has highest scoreing average in just 65 innings..up to the 2350 runs.

and many more records he has in very little times. He just came in dec 2004 and 2.5 year He made india a proud.

Jab tak india ko yaah "Tope" hain tab tak India ko "Hope" hain.

appreciate him. waise bhi usko indian politics main kabhi 7 no. par kabhi 6 no. par kabhi 3 no. par bhegtha hain re bhai. use 3 no. par bheg kar dikhao sabka record dhara rah jayega. lekin koi karega nahin kuinki puri team main to politics hain.Jis par bhi bhegtha hain wo honestly khel letha hain. kya yah aak over telented batsamn ka lakshan nahin hain. aaur tumhare bolne se kya hota hain. world tharaa raha hain. sastri ne suna tha na kya kaha hain. amazine....awsome..dhoni best hain best...yah maine nahin ravi sastri ne kaha hain.

some people still talk about cricket coz they are not fair weather fans. using the same logic you should stop watching Federer coz he lost to Nadal in the French Open final.

my resply was to Gautam Singh. i agree with Ritesh, Dhoni is a very down to earth person. after the world cup when a fan approached Dhoni for his autograph, he asked "do you still need it?". that is Dhoni for you. Dhoni wasn't good enough against Murali. he doesn't have the technique to play sgainst such spin bowlers. he has many years left in him and he'll learn with experience. but then how many people have played Murali well?

you don't have to stop watching cricket to support other sports. i wonder if guatam Singh has ever played anything in his life. Asking indians to stop playing/watching cricket is as stupid as asking Brazilians to stop watching football coz of their quarter final exit

i think u r correct. we indians are mad for that still now we r thinking and encouraging about our cricket and crickerts.i think we should not allow that players in our day to day life. rather we should think about the kabadi players.

accolades for individuals are fine. we actually have gone too far with feting individuals, fan clubs, hero worship etc. all we need is these overpaid stars, to perform.
