I think our players doesn't require any coach. With the Experience of Sachin,Sourav and Dravid they wont consider the words of Coach.They can't change their natural Game any way.For instinct take Virender Sehwag.He has thrown his wicket many times.He didnt want to take suggestions from the Coach whether it is Johnwright or GregChappel.So a Strong Manager who can keep things very tight is enough for Indian Cricket. When India won the 1983 World Cup Indians does nt have any coach Just only Manager is there.So just dont waste money for coach.Try to Improve the Bouncy Pitches in India.Develop Domestic Level of Cricket.Players Should Play atleast 10 to 15 Domestic Matches on Bouncy Tracks.Try to Produce Quality of Young Players.Mixture of Young and Experience Cricketers Can Produce results.
well..things are getting albiet messy!..let's get ur logic right first..acrdng 2 u we should follow ausy example of recruiting indegenous(!) coaches...and then u r crying hoarse over the credentials of Embury as a player..may i ask u my friend what credentials does John Buccanon has as a player..not even a single Intl game ..still he won two WC as a coach! anyway let's come to the subject..may i ask sir, what did u expect from a board run by people who has nothing to do with cricket..u all talk abt australia..do u know 16 out their 18 top executives has played Shefild Cup, considered to be the toughest domestic tournament these days..with two being Intl captain- Mark Taylor & Alan Border..hav a look at our board...out of all our top executives only 2 has first class exp-RajSingh Dungerpore(a med pacer for Vidharva with a handful of matches, critics say he could be outpaced by Karson Gauri!) & Niranjan Shah with an bat avg of 11(Trust me he was a batsman!)..did we ask all these questions when our team lost..nope..all we did was complaining against how many ads our players do? none actually questioned the people who r actually running the game...what was the logic there my friend...did any of us asked what Sharad Power or Lalit Modi is doing at the helm of the affairs of Indian cricket?..so u see guys talking abt a logical criteria in Indian cricket is nothing but a joke..we ourselves r not logical..so we don't have the right to raise a question on logic! u get what u dese

No coach is required for Aus Team. Payers have enough quality of batting and bowling.

India needs a "gangster coach" to handle the "gangsters" in the team / BCCI. Yes, Sachin can be made "coach-cum-player" as happens in tennis.

What is the selection criteria for this entire process? Defies Logic. Emburey with 64 tests and 61 ODIs experience is going to coach a team which has majority of people with 100 games in both versions of the game. BAFFLING. Does age alone matter for experience? I am sure Sachin/Dravid has had enough exp. in Intl cricket to know more than what Emburey would have known.So, where is he going to help Indian team? Why are they undermining our ex-greats? We talk about great players in the past. not even 1 is ready to take this challenge? If Gavaskar is patriotic, why cant he come forward? He comments so much about the game..cant that be transferred in the field... BOTTOM-LINE: This game requires PATRIOTISM to succeed. There should be lot of pride in achieving an INDIAN CAP... How can a Foreign coach be motivated in this aspect.tell me?
Dont tell that its a professional job.It is a Patriotic job which requires Professionalism. Thats the way to look at it. Did Australia hire any "professional" foreign coach so far?? NO. Don't Indians have the capability to perform professionally? Wright/Chappell were given a long run. was any other earlier Indian coach given such a long run in the recent time? Did Kapil get a chance for a long time? Isnt he a great leader - We have the 83 world cup for proof. If he is not professional, its still ok.we will hire professional guys with those laptops and gadgets... but what we want is that PASSION for Indian cricket. Kapil has that.

This Citizen is working in my company. All the time he was telling me that he is very busy( i never knew that he is so busy***)... Basically,Actually,frankly dear rediff, please remove such blogs as most of the people responds are doing it in the office hours. Who is worried about Cricket, Sachin/Dravid or Indian team them selves are not worried about Indian Cricket.If you can bring Pawar into the game , i don't think is there any reason to not to invite Emburey as Coach.I think this blog is for people who are getting bored in their office(including me)

Sometimes its good not to go too deep and get lost... so, you better get lost and take Emburey with you if you want... Becoz India doesnt need him... If he is still selected... you will come back to Rediff within 6 mths and cry it out... Lets see...
