Mr Shah has played Ranji Trophy for Saurastra.

He has served the Saurastra Cricket Association for 30 years. He ran the SCA from his own office. He has brought money into SCA.

But since being with this Pawar gang, he is being dictated & treated like a "shoulder to fire". But Mr Shah, should understand & recall that Cricket should be his top priority - be it BCCI of ICL.

Niranjan Shah - has got connections - politically
by Harsh Vaghjiani on Jul 26, 2007 01:50 PM

Frnds,

Mr Shah the jt Sec of BCCI - may be a joker for cricket. He had strong relations with Mr Dalmiya. But when Dalmiya failed, he parted away from his panel & joined rival group - Pawar. But Mr Shah is seen as a Biggie in ICC - being on the ICC panel committes, even even he was not the jt Sec.

So in my view, let ICL fight it way against BCCI, show results & then Kick this politicians out of CRCIKET - in general

icl is good.
by hanumant naik on Jul 26, 2007 01:40 PM

There are many ranji trophy players playing for thier state?some players have become old playing ranji.where are some players who played for indian team like nehra,balaji,kaif.. if these players get chance to play for ICL its good, selectors can see the performances and select them for indian team.and players will also get money for playing icl...I am happy that many ranji players will get chance to earn some money..What BCCI has given to ranji players who did not made to INDIAN team...This is good future for ranji players who played for years in ranji but got nothing.i think sharad pawar wants huge money from ICL..Kapil Dev is the GOD for indian cricket who won world cup for india, BCCI should listen to kapil...
Not only players there are many cricket empires in india..COME ON ICL CHAK DE.....love you ICL

Who is Niranjan Shah??
by Imran on Jul 26, 2007 01:36 PM  | Hide replies

Who is this Nirajan Shah?? Has he ever held a bat in his life? Hold a ball?? Same with Sharad pawar, Sreenivasan, Rajesh Shulka, etc, etc. Do they know what it takes to play for the country?? Do they feel the same kind of stress and mental trauma the players feel? Do they feel the pressure to form? And the humongous expectation from the public?

I some times really pity the players, we all criticize and condemn them when they under perform but look at their calendar. My God they hardly have time and space to breath. If we look from the WC on wards it was d B'desh tour then the Ireland ODI's now the England tour, immediately after dat Twenty-20 world cup, just after that ODI's with Australia at home, after Australia leaves Pakistan comes homes, just after that we leave for Australia, 4 tests, ODI series after that. My God give them a brake. What will happen to them?? What will happen to the bowlers? This is non-stop cricket. BCCI is just not sparring a thought or even thinking of the players. All they are bothered is to make money, money, money and more money. Now they would need more money to fight and keep Dalmiya out.

The solution is to appoint a professional CEO and all the other posts from President, to the secretary to the treasurer and all other posts to be given to ex-players.

Dear Imran,
It is high time now for Indian Cricket to implement what most football clubs in the world do. They have a pool of players for each position, and a star team. In high profile matches, they use the star combination, but most of the season, they have a rotation policy. This makes the team great and fresh every time they start. We should also have a pool of opening batsmen, spinners, fast bowlers, keepeers, and middle order batsmen.
It is not that if someone does not play or is out of form, just kick him out, let him have rest and keep practicing with the other pool players, till he has hit the form. Because hi is not facing pressure, he can actually regain his form faster, and can relax from the hectic schedule.

Sack all from BCCI
by RAMADURAI KARTHIK on Jul 26, 2007 01:32 PM

Sack all from BCCI and appoint them with played cricketers. People who don't know how to hold a bat and ball are running BCCI at the moment.

BCCI Scared of losing money from endorsements!
by prashant padmanabhan nayar on Jul 26, 2007 01:31 PM

The BCCI is opposing the ICL only because its scared of losing money from endorsements! Face it guys, these guys at BCCI are not here to please fans, they are here to capitalize on the fans! During the 80's where was the BCCI?? It was all about playing for India and being the best team on the field (and not on paper) in the world. Nowadays its all about endorsements!
