Hypocrites and idiot like Niranjan,SMG,Shastri and co have buried Indian cricket
by Raman on Jul 27, 2007 10:40 PM

This is what this idiot Shah says

"Kapil Dev has proclaimed that the ICL is launched with a view to serving cricket. What do you think?

I don't think you can serve the game by just starting a league. The real service to cricket is rendered by loyal players and coaches at camps, not just in big cities but in the smallest towns and even villages across the country. Just look at coaches like Ramakant Achrekar, Desh Prem Azad and others and their yeomen services to cricket. Even in Rajkot, the place I hail from, retired Ranji Trophy players have been helping budding cricketers hone their talents at several camps without expecting anything in return. To my mind, this is the real service to cricket.
"

Note the point here, serving without expecting anything in return, why doesnt he ask all the players, board officials including himself to do that.

Competing and expecting rewards is like a sin in our country, fake humility and crediting each other for ones success dishonestly is considered great. These idiots got no idea what Kapil Dev has given to Indian cricket, the only captain to have won the World Cup and the last one to have won a overseas series(outside subcontinent and dont even bring Wins in WINDIES ZIMBABWE recently to picture please)in England 1986...
Other than staying a bit more than he should have Kapil did nothing wrong and was a great great player, was dropped for just one rash shot,if that was the case how come people like Sachin never dropped despite so many

Fear of loosing money
by Prabhakaran V on Jul 27, 2007 02:51 PM

BCCI worried that they will loose reputation and the money that they are making in the name of indian cricket. ICL once get its own reputation with the governing body of only ex-players, definitely the BCCI with vetern non-players will loose its reputation. The way Niranjan shah giving interview shows the fear and jealosy and very irresponsible.

fear of competition grabs BCCI
by simpleman on Jul 27, 2007 11:54 AM

I think BCCi think that they are owning cricket in India. So in that term our current India squad called as BCCI team rather than India.India comprises of it's people not by some Sarad power and Niranjan Shah.BCCI sud stop this mudsling. They are only a body to regulate cricket in India..no monopoly..ICL inviting gr8s like Lara and warne n our junior cricketers can learn frm them alot and probably play better abroad with positive attitude n toughness.Looks like BCCI is crying that subhash chandra is not goin to pay them.Itz good to have competition so that BCCI stop thinkin abt only money n improve facilities to watch cricket in India and respect the ticket buyers.Politicians r top of BCCI to make things more bad.Now they are looting our money and playing with our sentiment. They sud know that Indian team is gettin blind followers bcoz team is tagged as Indian team rather than BCCI team. Will they come out with same money if it is a BCCI 11 from the endorsers...i know and Sarad Power,n Mr shah also knows that, thats why they r opposing ICL to negate competition....who r they 2 authorise ICL?Indian corporate Laws and regulation do have that power only...BCCI think that they above of our esteemed Constitutional law and regulations

The Real BCCI Attitude

Guys Look at this sentence: But it's up to the players. We can't dictate to them. We've no control over them in such matters. But they must be prepared to face the consequences.

If you look at the above sentences, It looks like a pure black mail. We cant Dictate we dont control but they have to face the consequences.

This is a clear indication that the BCCI feels threatened or disgusted by ICL. In other words anyone playing for ICL will never find a place in the national team.

So it is like this BCCI is the only way to play in the Indian National Team. This is where the check is!!!!

Look he further goes on blabbering about the league is Illegal and tournaments like Buchi Babu are conducted under the blessings of respective CA's This is absolute bull crap that the cricket board has been dishing out for years!

BTW what gives BCCI the power to dismiss other leagues as illegal? Instead why cant there be a healthy relationship between the two cricket bodies. In fact with ICL bringing in foreign players can be a welcome experience for our players. I am not saying ICL is doing Indian cricket a favor, ICL is a commercial organization, but in that commericalism there are some good aspects that can benefit our budding players. Hence BCCI should soften this hostile stand against ICL.

You can serve the game by starting many leagues !
by cajetan coelho on Jul 27, 2007 11:39 AM

Thanks to the enormous talent, dedication and commitment of our cricketers the game is turning into a huge job providing industry.

Take a walk along the Maidan in Kolkata and you see thousands of boys practicing with great enthusiasm. Same is the case when one waits for the Mumbai - Goa Bus around the Dhobitalao maidans. The number of pitches and the stumps and sets of players is never easy to count. Spontaneous mushrooming of cricket nurseries is taking place everywhere.

Rajkot, Baroda, Delhi, Nagpur, Chennai, Bangalore and other towns and villages across the country keep producing cricketers of rare quality.

Our current cricketers, ex-cricketers and those endowed with a love for the game need to come forward and offer their services for the growth and development of the game.

We need to create more and more job opportunities through cricket. More players, more cricket grounds, more groundsmen, more umpires, physios, doctors, coaches and putting to good use the experience and expertise of our former cricketers has to take place all the time.

The BBCI needs to show magnanimity and generosity towards the game and its heroes, past, present and those to come. They need to willingly come forward and courageously impart their precious blessings and goodwill to encourage not only one league but many leagues for the betterment of the game, players and the public. Facing bouncers, beamers, yorkers and chin music can be difficult. Howzzat ?

What the Hell is he talkin' about
by Prafulla Ghildiyal on Jul 27, 2007 11:02 AM

If the board is so dedicated to hone the young talents , where is the result ?? No promising player , especially a fast bowler in view for miles . A bunch of Idiots . So much for the richest Sports Board in the world ...
And what does this guy mean when he says noone will watch the former veteran players in action !! We are talking about class competitors here . Warne and McGrath were most successful in the last year or so . These guys have at least 3 years more in them .. And Chris Cairns and Lara are way more in shape than guys like Virender Sehwag who looks like a middle-aged saahukaar (shopkeeeper) ..

by meenatchi anbu on Jul 27, 2007 10:39 AM

What BCCI did still now with the huge money. did they build any new stadium? or they repaied any statium. All the stadum are in same status, like it was in 1987 WC. Leave the staduim, Is ather any cricket ground in district level? all the districk level leagues are conducted in schol and college footbool grounds(some time in hockey grounds)..what they have done for indian cricket with the money? This it self not enough to ban BCCI?

Stop spoiling india's name
by HellBoy on Jul 27, 2007 02:08 AM

Team India - itself is a bunch of losers. In the first place BCCI should not allow players to play under the banner INDIA (we as a people don't select the players - its a team of individuals who select the players)

Either BCCI has to dissolve the team and start a league like ICL or STF up (and stop spoiling the country's name) .

by Raman on Jul 27, 2007 01:39 AM

Hypocrites run Indian cricket from day one and now headed by the deadly trio of SMG,Shastri,Vengskar and who is Niranjah Saaah?

What is this nonsense of unauthorised and authorised,if BCCIs ass is kissed its a Authorised organisation and if not its unauthorised?

Why did the interviewer ask Shah what does it take to get authorised?
