Sack all
by Raman sSubramanya on Jul 22, 2007 08:35 AM  | Hide replies

Sack the entire Indian team and rebuild new team with young faces.

We are fed up with Sachin. He plays for wrong reasons i.e. records and commercials and not for the country. Star Cricket shamelessly show all his past tons and project him still as hero !!! This type of heroworshipping is happening with all the aged personalities in every field in our country.

We should learn good things from Australia, England, Sri Lanka and even West Indies. Can any one of the guys in Indian camp bothered to stay at the wicket and fixed a price on his wicket as Chanderpaul did for West Indies during the recently concluded WI England series !!! It clearly indicates Chanderpaul can play better than Tendulkar and Chanderpaul may not be hailed as hero in West Indies despite his splending performance. He will continue to remain unsung hero, whereas Tendulkar did nothing but still will remain HERO in millions of fans/media in India. Crazy Indian fan fools !!!

strange batters......
by chinna rao on Jul 22, 2007 08:06 AM

Guys this is utterly disgusting to see VVS laxman getting out time and again same way. Hes a prolific scorer in domestic cricket but for th past 3 seasons he didnt do anything big.
Dhoni is same hes a tiger @ home and rabbit on foreign soil. God save this team which has less cricketers adn more superstars.

expected!
by Mat on Jul 22, 2007 07:24 AM  | Hide replies

India can never get out of the mental state of packing their middle order.our middle order is exposed to new ball too early. We did well in Austarlia because our openers did well most of the time to wear out the opposition fast bowlers. We dont have a choice in the test test but to field the only two openers we went with. Karthick is not an opener. Yes Mayan Mongia has scored a century against Australia, but it was on an Indian pitch.
Dhoni is my hero in ODIs ,but he is struggling for form and also doesnt have the footwork or technique to face English bowlers on their turf.Whether Ganguly or Yuvi would make a better choice is open to debate. Frankly,I dont think it matters as both as susceptible against swing bowling in English conditions. We will see him for sure next time as Ganguly would be retired by then.

any comments on Rahul? What he did? Had he scored even 30 runs, India could have reached 230 and with someone hanging around it could be 250.

It is a practice now a days to comments on Tendulkar and Ganguly...what others are doing? Laxman? Dhoni? tell me.

Better training needed
by Hemal Patel on Jul 22, 2007 06:44 AM

We need better training for players before going on such tours. We need to have bouncy pitches and artifical indoor environments which can be changed to simulate swing bowling. Lack of practice and hectic schedule is also countributing to poor performance.

I just read a report that cricket does not even figure into top 5 sports in australia, australian public does not even care for their great team so much, and inspite of crazy fan following in India we are not able to perform well. Image the level happiness in India if we had a cricket team like Australia.

RE:This will be a much better team!!

It doesnt matter whether u have karthik or dhoni in place. But BCCI guys would prefer dhoni as it could sell the match easily having dhoni rather than karthik. That is the reason why BCCI keeps on Sachin. When sachin is around the business would be good whether he plays r not.

blame sachin and sourav
by KC on Jul 22, 2007 02:15 AM  | Hide replies

go on blame sachin and saurav for this situation
rest players were there to make numbers.
it is duty of these people to win match for India whatever the situation.
and after the loss blame sachin once more as he will not be able to win match in fourth innings.

and what a good performance from youngsters. They performed like anything ..

Batting
by Gandhi on Jul 22, 2007 02:10 AM  | Hide replies

This match is gone. Hope we could bat well in second match. In second inning they would be playing to save some face. Hope our great batting line is able to bat next match. Do we need support from new faces, players who can help our experienced line up?

Dhoni should ideally be on the firing line for the next match. Instead of bringing Yuvraj, we should bring in Gambhir and let him open with Jaffer and push Karthik down the order. This way, you have a solid player like Karthik down the order and you have two specialist openers - something India havent done in years (Sehwag is not a specialist!). Let Yuvraj wait. Or drop Laxman and bring in Yuvraj for the fielding and the back up bowling option.

Something needs to be done. Will Dravid be innovative in the second innings and send Laxman at one down? Laxman at one down seems to do very well (281 at Eden is enough to argue for that!).

India can give a fight here. I almost rule out the chance of victory. A draw would be good for us but we need to fight for that too because England will know when to declare and what target to set (they're at home and they know what to do). And with Anderson and Sidebottom bowling as well as they are, India will find it hard to even draw the game.

This can be a chance for Sachin to shut up critics who say he cant score in pressure situations. Also if India got to draw or win this test, Dravid needs to make it huge in the second innings. If he does, India will surely escape unscathed from this test.

I agree with u , but if our batsmen play as a team, and each and every batsmen think that , we have to stay at the wicket , then we have a chance for a draw and maybe a miracleous win also. Actually if the younsters take their responsibility , then only we can save the match. Its very bad that whenever we loose a match , people accuse Sachin , Dravid and Ganguly. All these people have played their part, its the time for the younsters to take the initiative. These three are there to support the youngsters. If we play as a unite we can definately save the match.
